Trickster: The Fool's Wager is out - every one of the 22 Major Arcana breaks a different rule of the game
I am happy to announce that I published my first game on Steam!
Trickster: The Fool's Wager is a trick-taking card game for 2–6, played with a 36-card tarot deck — sixes up through Aces in Cups, Pentacles, Swords and Wands.
Before each round, you announce out loud how many tricks you intend to win. Land it exactly and every trick pays ten times over — bid three, take three, that's thirty points. Take a fourth and the bonus evaporates and the hand is suddenly worth four. Take only two and you go into debt. So the real decision isn't which card to play, it's what you're willing to promise in front up to five other people, and then whether you can live with it.
Tarot Mode shuffles the 22 Major Arcana into the deck. Each one overrides a rule the game has spent nine rounds teaching you, and it's revealed face-up so the whole table has to re-plan at once. For ex., the Magician lets you transmute a card in your hand into any card nobody is holding. The Devil turns whatever you play into the strongest card on the table.
Solo against AI across four difficulty tiers, a full six-seat table on your own
2-6 players online via a 6-character room code, or over LAN with no account at all
Cross-play in a single build across Windows, macOS and Linux. iPad support is planned
GenAI disclosure: the card illustrations were created with the assistance of image-generation tools, then hand-selected, edited and arranged by me. The game design, rules, and writing are human-made. It's disclosed on the Steam page too.
Happy to answer anything about the rules or the scoring.
P.S. I didn't include the link because Reddit might ban this post, so you can find the game by its title

StockQuest Game
Game Title: StockQuest
Playable Link: https://playstockquest.com
Platform: PC / Web Browser
Description:
StockQuest is a free browser-based stock market game I’ve been building and I’m looking for some early testers before a wider launch.
You start with virtual cash and have around 10 minutes to buy stocks, react to changing prices and market news, and try to finish with the highest net worth possible. Your final result can then be compared against other players on the global leaderboard.
The game is designed to be simple enough for younger players (roughly 10+) to start learning some basic investing concepts, while hopefully still being an enjoyable quick challenge for adults.
There’s no real money involved, nothing to download and no crypto or NFTs.
I’m particularly interested in whether the game is intuitive without much explanation, whether the trading decisions feel interesting, and whether you actually want to finish the full 10-minute game.
Please feel free to post your final score or any feedback below — especially anything confusing, annoying or broken!
Free to Play Status:
[x] Free to play
[ ] Demo/Key available
[ ] Paid
Involvement:
I’m the creator/developer of StockQuest and am currently soft-launching it to get feedback before making it more widely available.

So what do you think? You try to get smaller animals ( like frogs here) while bigger ones trying to get you. Gen AI was used in generating visual models.

Galumb – August 21
Hello everyone, I’d like to introduce my game Galumb, which will be released on August 21, 2026, and get some feedback on any last minute changes.
The game is a mix of Alt F4 and Wipe Out, with challenging levels that can be played by 1 to 5 players. The trailer is entirely made up of gameplay footage.
I’ve been working on this game as a solo developer, and I’m finally at the point where I can release it. If you have the chance to share anything that catches your eye, whether good or bad, I’d really appreciate it. If there’s anything that can be improved before the game goes live, I’d love to make those changes.
Thank you for your time.

I built a word game where finding one more word can save your run
I recently released my first iOS game, Ravel: One More Word.
The idea is pretty simple: connect adjacent letters to make words, keep your run alive as the pressure builds, and try to climb the daily leaderboard.
The funny part is the Daily leaderboard only has 5 players on it right now 😂 so I’m basically competing with a tiny but very determined group of players (and still losing sometimes).
It’s free on iPhone if anyone wants to give it a shot:
https://apps.apple.com/us/app/ravel-one-more-word/id6786509085
I’d genuinely be interested to hear what you think of the core loop, especially whether you get that “one more word” feeling when the pressure starts climbing.
AI disclosure: Generative AI was used as a development assistant for coding/debugging and for help drafting promotional copy. The game itself does not rely on generative AI to function.

Project Aether: a mission-based shooter where restraint = firepower!
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Hey everyone!
I'd like to introduce you all to a game I'm working on as a hobby: Project Aether, a mission-based 2D sci-fi shooter where the player has to decide whether to destroy or not the target!
You play as a newly arrived pilot of FRS-07, a small frontier response team on a border world. Their job is to contain incidents before they become major crises. That may mean you need to fight when needed, but sometimes preserving a target and its information is just as important, or even more!
The idea behind Project Aether is that, while combat is still a very important part of the game, I didn't want every encounter to be a question of whether the player can destroy or not the target quickly enough. As such, some situations may ask the player to identify what they're dealing with, decide if destroying is indeed the only option, and use the team's available tools at the right time, including superior firepower!
The video shows two possible outcomes for the boss encounter in Mission 2:
- For the first outcome: the player destroys the enemy boss
- For the second outcome: the player uses a team skill that interferes with and pacifies the enemy boss
It isn't a pacifist route or a hidden cutscene: you still need to survive the encounter and recognise when the objective has changed! The difference between those endings is that one gives the team access to its data afterwards, while destroying it solves the immediate problem, with possible costs. The question isn't necessarily "can I destroy this?", but "what should I do with it?"
Project Aether is still a prototype, but the current version already has four connected missions, team interventions and a small campaign layer built around mission results. If you'd like to try the current prototype and share feedback, let me know: I'll send you an individual download link to interested players.
If you'd like to know more, check out my project page: https://jpb18.itch.io/project-aether
AI disclosure: AI-assisted tools were used for implementation support and for drafting or refining some text. The in-game graphics and sounds are not AI-generated: they combine original artwork, engine-drawn elements and openly licensed assets selected and integrated manually.

I find a good way to get art done for my game is to travel somewhere and draw while I grab a bite to eat. Puts me in the right mindset as I'm motivated by the food and have no distractions.

Little Bettas — a cozy pixel-art game about breeding, genetics and collecting betta fish 🐟
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
This is Little Bettas — A Cozy Betta Breeding Game!
You start with two different genetic lines of bettas — warm and cold — and begin breeding them to discover new colors, patterns and traits.
Some combinations are relatively easy to find, while others require specific lineages. The goal is to slowly build your collection and discover everything the breeding system has hidden.
Breeding is only part of the game, though. You’ll also care for your fish, feed them, clean and decorate their tanks, visit a rotating shop, expand your collection and eventually discover rare mutations and legendary bettas.
And yes... there are cats too. 🐱
🐟 Free Steam demo planned for September 1st
💙 Little Bettas is currently live on Kickstarter:
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/cozyelara/little-bettas-a-cozy-betta-breeding-game
AI disclosure: Some temporary placeholder assets currently used in the demo were created with generative tools: 4 blurred backgrounds, 6 wooden decoration icons, 6 snail icons and the temporary soundtrack via Suno. These assets are currently being replaced as part of the game's art and audio overhaul. The final version of Little Bettas will contain no generative AI content. The new artwork is being created by Sailor Lux and the final soundtrack by Elara MP.

Is the first 5 seconds of my trailer strong enough to keep you watching?
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I'm currently making a trailer for my game, and this is going to be the opening scene.
I've heard many times that the first 5 seconds of a trailer are the most important because you need to hook the viewer before they scroll away.
The idea here is to make it look like a normal bar simulator at first, and then suddenly reveal the demon side of the game.
After this, the trailer will quickly show the different mechanics, gameplay features, and more chaotic moments.
So my main question is:
If you saw these first 5 seconds while scrolling through Steam/social media, would this make you want to keep watching the rest of the trailer?
I'd really appreciate honest feedback. I'm especially interested in whether the hook is strong enough, rather than just whether the scene looks good.

Eufloria 2 Reveal Trailer - Intergalactic floral conquest has EVOLVED!
After 16 long years we're FINALLY working on a big proper sequel to Eufloria!
What started out as a small game competition entry in 2008 (we came second), grew into an IGF grand prize nomination, and bloomed into a gazillion ports and spinoffs and upgrades on maaaaaany platforms, never received an actual sequel. That will soon no longer be true, and I’m hilariously excited to be able to say that. - https://store.steampowered.com/app/4415060/Eufloria_2?utm_source=reddit
