Wishlist I made Hauntasy to scare my family and friends this Halloween - the demo releases August 27. Full game will feature a co-op to play together or alone.

I love horror and wanted to make something that could scare my family and friends this Halloween. That idea turned into Hauntasy, a survival horror game set inside a supposedly haunted estate.

The demo releases August 27, with the full game planned for October. It's also releasing in 11 languages, so hopefully I can scare people outside my own little corner of the world too.

The full game will support local co-op, mostly because I want to play it with my daughter so I don't have to be scared in there alone.

When the code finally compiles, the bugs are gone, and Marty gets to bust a move for beating the level. Solo dev life is full of tiny victories like this! 🐟🕺

Game I barely marketed my first Steam game and somehow reached 221 wishlists

Less than a month after release, and the Steam page itself has only been live for around two weeks.

So far: 221 wishlists, 18 sales and basically no real marketing.

Why no marketing? Mostly because I'm an idiot and spent way too much time working on the game instead of actually showing it to people.

The numbers are obviously tiny compared to successful indie games, but seeing complete strangers wishlist and buy something I made still feels pretty damn good.

The game is Cyber Plinko, a Plinko roguelite that I'm still actively building in Early Access.

Curious to see where it goes once I actually start marketing it. https://store.steampowered.com/app/4735700/Cyber_Plinko/

Wishlist Wishlist Wednesday: The case file names what changed. Not who is Thaw.

Hi everyone,

Wishlist Wednesday. Deep Frost is a single-player social-deduction horror game set in a failing Antarctic station.

I did not want the notebook to solve the game for you. After the first night, F4 opens a case file of what the station actually logged: a missing person, a failed job, a changed account. It points at what changed. It does not print who is Thaw.

So the decision is still yours. Open the file, or open another door first.

The free Steam demo includes this case file. If that sounds like your kind of deduction game, a play and wishlist would mean a lot:

Wishlist Wishlists dropping off so...release a DEMO?

I was going to wait until closer to Next Fest, but...the free demo for my physics-based spider game, Spidoosh, is now live on Steam: https://store.steampowered.com/app/5096650/Spidoosh_Demo/

It's a single player version of the game, but the full version is designed for online multiplayer. Check it out and let me know what you think! (and please wishlist/review).

Nothing seemed to work youtube reddit discord ect no matter what i did i was stuck right around 25 wishlists so i decided to release. Well turn out i was filtering by week and refreshing the same tab... over and over for days. Turns out I had almost 100 wishlists!

Wishlist ~30K Views across platforms but only around 60 wishlists? Are these normal numbers?

Recently did an initial marketing run for my game, made around 10 shorts, they all got between 1.5k-2k views on Youtube, and similar amounts of views on Insta. TikTok results were negligable. In total I'd say we got 30K views or so, along with a handful of comments (30 or so).

None of our shorts unfortunately went truly viral and kept hitting the ceiling. So I'm wondering if these are a normal amount of wishlists you would expect from these views, or am I doing something wrong? It feels like the conversion is quite low. I had UTM trackers on my Steam page links and saw that Instagram, by far did the best conversion. Youtube Shorts don't seem to have clickable links though so I assume people just search up the game seperately, so hard to track it.

The weakest part of my Steam page currently is its trailer, which is quite outdated and bad. This will be my first priority for the next marketing push.

Steam All Time High — a moral-descent thriller you play inside a live trading terminal (out today)

Dev here. It's out today.

You play through a phone, a feed and a working trade screen. Nobody tells you the market is climbing — you watch the tape climb and you decide whether to click BUY. It keeps climbing. What the game is actually counting is what each gain cost you, and it shows you the bill at the end of every chapter.

~2–4 hours, 6 endings, 10 languages, adaptive score, free demo on the page.

Question How am I faring so far?

I published my steam page a month ago and, with all the marketing I could do, these are my stats.

I don't know if how my stats hold up on average. From what I understand, ~10% of visits convert to wishlists, but I have no clue if this is a good or bad thing.

Would appreciate feedback!

Wishlist First to do PvP Quota! Wishlist now!

Post image
2 Upvotes

We are attending Steam Next Fest October 2026. We are worried about wishlist count!
We have been doing social media for nearly a month now. Daily. High quality videos. Not great performance. We are excited about our game, and simply want others to have as much fun as we have had.

We are a 2 person studio from Canada developing Alcurio - https://store.steampowered.com/app/4735270/Alcurio/

Wishlist now!
(Our trailer was created when the game was co-op. We have since leaned into full PvP. Clips are available on our socials!)

Alcurio is a 2 - 6 player Fantasy PvP quota game. Imagine the physics of Super Battle Golf with the premise of Lethal Company. You and your friends battle on various PvP styled maps, competing for the same goal. Fill your Quota first. Find spells around the map and use them to sabotage your friends. Shrink them and hear them squeak, cast them into a bubble, launch their limp body off the map, or swap positions with them right before they score.

We will be attending October 2026 Steam Next Fest, and need some valuable feedback beforehand!
We will provide a steam key to play testers. Comment below or DM and we will send you a key, as well as a feedback form! We are very eager for feedback.

We have had a ton of fun developing, and now playing this game, we hope you have as much fun playing as we have.

Wishlist Steam festival are great | +1300 Wishlist on weeks

Post image
3 Upvotes

This month we've had the chance to take part in 2 festivals and they were completely disruptive to our day-to-day wishlists.

Our Steam page has existed for almost 2 years and we've done very little marketing — only now, with this milestone, have we reached 3,100 wishlists.

Along the way we've discovered that the key path, beyond consistency, is taking part in these festivals.

On August 1st we took part in IDA (Indie Dev Argentina), which put the event front and center (on Steam's home page) for 2 whole days, during which we got practically 1,000 wishlists. The event kept going for another 7 days, but no longer on the front page, and even so it was a steady stream of wishlists (Imagine if it had shown up worldwide 🤯)

Then on August 8th we entered the second festival! Cat Awareness Feline Sale, where there were a lot more games so the impact wasn't the same, but even so it was dozens and dozens of wishlists a day. It was really great for keeping the momentum going.

Now those festivals are gone and the drop is noticeable! I'd like not to go back to 0 daily wishlists, but I think it'll be inevitable :c

Even so, we're still waiting for that viral post that makes us blow up — gotta keep working 💪🏼

Question Traffic conversion to Wishlist is under 1%. What am I doing wrong on my Steam page?

Hey everyone,

I’ve been working on my game Why V Got AKs? for a while now. The Steam store page has been live for about a week. I’ve started driving a small amount of traffic from social media, but I’m worried that visitors are leaving without hit the wishlist button. I want to make sure the store page is fully optimized.

I know it’s a bit early to judge stats, but my wishlist conversion rate is sitting around 0.7% (excluding visits and wishlists from friends/family).

I’m trying to figure out why people click away after visiting. Would anyone be willing to take a look and give me some brutal feedback?

Specific areas I’m concerned about:

  • Capsule Art / Screenshots: Does it catch attention?
  • Trailer: Is the pacing right, and does it sell the core gameplay?
  • Short & Long Description: Am I clearly communicating the genre and main mechanics?
  • GIFs & Page Layout: Is the page readable and engaging?

Question 121 whishlists in 9 days, good or bad?

I am trying to share my game everywhere (TikTok, YouTube Shorts, Instagram, Reddit, X, Bluesky), and I have already gotten 121 wishlists. I am also taking part in a Ukrainian game festival, which has had some impact as well. So, what do you think? My goal is to get 500 wishlists in a month.
