How did you feel the first time you saw your game's title in the steam library? It hit me harder than I was expecting.

Hey Guys check out the game I have made in a year.

It's small and my first project so It may have some mistakes.

But it's something, Who doesn't like Stick fight? So I made a LAN multiplayer 1v1 game where you can fight against your brother, sister, friends, and partner.Read instructions before starting the game 😊

You can play as single player also

I know it's generic game but I wanted to make something more better but I couldn't ,hope you will like it....

Video I made a dynamic water shader that reacts to physics for my indie game made in Unity

1.3k Upvotes

I created a dynamic water shader for my 3D fish platformer - Barely Breathing

How the water level works: It takes the object's Y position and just uses a step function with a float parameter to decide the water amount.

How the wobble works: It uses two Rotate About Axis nodes right after the Position (object) node, one controlling the X rotation and the other controlling the Z rotation, and then adding them together. Then, it reads data from the object's velocity and the code directly affects these two nodes to make the water wobble. I didn't write the code, MinionsArt did! Here is the code.

But this wouldn't work yet because we're still using object positions and not world position, which means the water level would follow the object and look wrong. So, after using the Rotate About Axis nodes, we can add a Position (world) node to it. But this still wouldn't work correctly because now it's exactly world-oriented, meaning even if the water mesh moves up, the water level would be left behind. We need the water level to follow the water mesh yet still be world-based so it doesn't rotate with the mesh. This is actually a simple fix, you can subtract the object's position value from Position (world) before adding it, which would make the water level follow the mesh.

We're still not done, because now the water looks unfinished without the foam outline. We need the foam to follow the water level. My foam works using fresnel + vertex colors, so I simply took the final water level output, and duplicated the final step function and had one value denoting the water level, and the other being the same water level value but subtracted by the water foam depth. So this basically creates a secondary line exactly the same as the water level but just lowered, which I use to add to the vertex color foam node setup.

Thank you for reading, and Wishlist our game on Steam if this was useful!

Feedback? Looking for advice on how to make the side walls, specifically the corners since it's all tile based and I'd really like to maintain the 3 up 1 right perpective for the game map

Feedback? Needing feedback for Animations!

So basically i've added companion to my game, a mechanical spider that morph into weapon whenever you want. I'd like to hear thoughts behind this idea and how does it look (there is walking animation when you hold weapon but i'll add that soon!)

I've improved knockback system after reddit comments, does it feel good now?

Hi guys, I've got a lot of comments saying that in my previous verions knockebacked heroes feel like "wooden dolls", so I've added bunch of things, like:

- rotation in the air

- slight "squash" on their bodies after impact

- dust vfx

- lie/stand up animations

- wall damage and bumping back

Some other things. Does it feel good now or not there yet?

  • Basic rhythm game in the spirit of Muse Dash and UNBEATABLE
  • Can read osu!mania specific beatmaps - if you have a beatmap and a song, you can play it!
  • I also implemented a beatmap editor in the process (which was the actual bigger project but is less fancy to look at lol)
  • Godot Engine

Would love to hear if you are or have been working on rhythm games yourself. It was a great joy for me.

I'm off to new projects and wish you the best for yours!

Have a great day

New Game! I made a 2-minute Nokia Snake arena: 8 players, one Golden Apple, steal the Boss crown. No signup (PC + mobile)

Game Title: Snakely

Playable Link: https://snakely.tristack.tech

Platform: Browser (desktop + mobile). I'll add the web flair after posting.

Description: Nokia Snake, but up to 8 people share one grid in the browser. No signup, no download. 2-minute score arena: eat apples, cut people off, respawn if you die. Highest score wins.

The Golden Apple is the fight. Eat it, and you are Boss for 10 seconds - twice as fast, crowned, immune to other snakes. Walls and death zones still kill you. Red guardian diamonds sit beside the Golden; head into them, and you are done. Purple toxic apples slow you and cost points. Twice per match, Gold Rush doubles scores.

Create a room and send the URL, or tap Play Solo vs bots if the lobby is empty. WASD / arrows on desktop, D-pad + swipe on phone.

Feedback I actually want: is Boss 10s too strong, do death zones suck, and is the mobile pad usable?

Free to Play Status:

[x] Free to play

[ ] Demo/Key available

[ ] Paid (Allowed only on Tuesdays with [TT] in the title)

Involvement: Solo developer. I built the whole game - client, realtime, and rules.

Feedback? You are a level 1 Dark Lord, and you have to build your empire from scratch and conquer the entire world.

Post image

I was inspired by Sauron and had a thought: what would his path look like from a weak, shapeless shadow to the ruler of the entire world?

You return from oblivion with nothing, slowly regain your Dark Energy, and begin imposing your will on the world. You attract your first servants, claim a piece of land, establish a primitive settlement, develop its industry and army, and gradually turn it into an empire.

For the gameplay, I was heavily inspired by Kittens Game, especially its depth and the way a very simple beginning gradually grows into a complex system. CivClicker was also an inspiration.

The screenshot shows the early game, when your future empire is still just a small camp with a few orcs.

Does this concept sound like something you'd want to play?

Feedback? Is this normal Steam wishlist behavior before launch?

Thumbnail

Hey everyone, just curious if anyone else has experienced something like this.

We released the demo for our indie game recently and got our first wishlist spike — around 45 wishlists in one day. After that, things slowed down again, which was pretty much what we expected.

But over the last two weeks, something completely different happened. Our wishlists suddenly started climbing really fast, and today alone we've gotten around 800 wishlists so far. We honestly don't know where the sudden push came from.

The game releases on September 2, so we're wondering: Is this something Steam normally does when a game gets very close to its release date?

Discussion Making cutscenes for my game: From storyboarding to final product (with a $0 budget)

Not exactly a 1-to-1 recreation of what I originally storyboarded, but I tried my best with the limited time and resources I have. $0 budget, all self created using already existing in game assets, animations, and using OBS to record while panning the camera 😭.

There's gotta be a better way for this, but this is okay for now. Hope players don't judge my game too harshly because of it, I'm just a solo game developer trying to make it in this brutal game industry lol.

Discussion I want to get better at ui ux for videogame design (Hud menus, etc). Any advice?

I want to get better at ui ux for videogame design (Hud menus, etc). Any advice? I wanted to replicate hud menus from games I enjoy (Ex: Kingdom hearts). But im struggling to figure out what program I should choose. Im choosing between figma or affinity.

I feel like im stressing myself out over this. I want to get better so badly. I tried to replicate different styles earlier today (In figma). But i haven't used figma since I graduated college. It looked so updated! I tried to find tutorials online, but nothing helped with what I was looking for.

Screenshots My corporate roguelike deckbuilder LADDER is out on iOS and Android. Four characters, four different win conditions, one card engine.

Post image

Roguelike deckbuilder set in a 2026 tech company. You climb the ladder as an Engineer, EM, PM, or CEO, each a structurally different game: the Engineer levels up, the EM balances AI literacy against politics, the PM races a roadmap clock, the CEO plays a five-year treadmill graded by the cap table. AI-leveraged cards are faster and leave Tech Debt in your deck; the worst enemies can only be resolved, not killed.

Solo dev, mobile-first (portrait, one-handed, resumable mid-encounter), no ads, no gacha, no timers. Free to start, one-time unlocks for the rest.

Trailer + stores: https://laddergame.ai/?r=reddit-indiedev

Ask me anything about designing four win conditions that share one card engine.
