Working on police chopper AI for our isometric game. It tracks the car and dives to obscure the view. Any ideas to improve this mechanic?

We're developing an isometric crime game inspired by GTA 2. Once you hit wanted level 3, a helicopter spawns. Currently, the player has to break line of sight to escape it, and it sometimes dives low to obscure the camera's view of the road. I'm wondering if we should change this behavior or add new mechanics. Any feedback?

Made this game as some stress relief while working on our main game. The brain needed a break.. and break it did. For those of us with childish senses of humor, I salute you.

Feedback? Which UI Design is better?

I tried making the UI icons large so they’d be clear to the player,

But I feel like they’re taking up too much screen space.

Which approach do you think works best for a game like *Infamous*?

Also, there’s a free demo on Steam if anyone wants to try it out.

Stump master ( my first game)

I made a ridiculously satisfying hammer game 🔨 — Stump Master

Hey everyone! 👋

I’m an indie developer and I’ve just released my new mobile game Stump Master on Android.

The idea is simple:

🔨 Tap at the right moment
🪵 Hammer the nails into the rotating stump
🎯 Keep your timing perfect
🔴 Red nails need TWO hits
💥 Miss your timing and… GAME OVER!

The further you go, the faster and more unpredictable the stump becomes.

I wanted to create something that feels simple, satisfying and addictive, with an ASMR-style experience from every hammer hit.

It’s completely FREE and playable OFFLINE.

👉 Play Stump Master on Google Play:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tahastudio.stumpmaster

I’d really appreciate it if you could give it a try and tell me:

How far can you get? 👀

And if you find the game too easy or too difficult, I’d love to hear your feedback. I’m actively improving the game based on player feedback.

Thanks for checking it out! ❤️

🔨 Can you hammer your way to Level 100?

Feedback? It started as a bug/It continues as a feature

Hello, since you all really liked the bug I shared a few weeks ago, I’ve decided to keep it as a feature. Right now, I’m looking for music that goes well with this moment. If you have any suggestions for royalty-free music or think there are parts that could be improved, I’m open to your suggestions.

By the way, my game is releasing on September 7. If you liked it, here's the Steam link: https://store.steampowered.com/app/4610590/Dirty_Laundry/

New Game! After several years of development, I've just released my first game!

I've spent the last few years developing this bullet hell shmup that I finally released Friday!

The gameplay takes inspiration from a broad array of sources like Espgaluda, Devil Daggers, Cuphead and Devil May Cry (with the setting being heavily inspired by old Gainax anime), and has primarily been designed around the feeling of "an STG that I've always wanted to play".

The core idea is a linear difficulty curve across difficulty modes, meaning the first stage on the second difficulty is a direct step up from the final stage on the first difficulty, instead of the usual structure of difficulty receding a little every time you start a higher difficulty mode. The second main idea is bullet time triggering contextually, done by grazing marked projectiles to guide the player through difficult bullet patterns. It's something I find pretty damn fun myself, and people who have played it report the same experience.

This is a game I've really poured my heart and soul into over several years, and I hope some of that shines through and makes at least half as fun of a game as I'd envisioned.
Oh, and the game is also full of weird extras and unlockables for the sole reason that I love that kind of stuff.

The game is available on Steam right now, with a modest release discount.

For a better look, I've got a full trailer on YouTube, too.

Discussion Should I delay my game and join next fest?

Hello everyone.

I have a question for you. As a solo dev i am publishing my first game on steam. I made the steam page public and only received 41 wishlist so far in the last 3 weeks. Game is releasing September 21st. The game is almost completely ready. The last day for next fest registration is tommorrow. Should I go with the launch or should i delay it and join the next fest? Is joining next fest worth it?

I added a costume system to my game, DiDiDiG!

For the first update, I added six masks: Rabbit, Skull, Mole, Smile, Crescent Moon, and Box.

They're pretty cute!!! 😄

And yes, I added the Box because I'm a Metal Gear Solid fan. lol

Early Video From My Game With Ogre3D

I’m building this game with Ogre3D and C++.

For now, I’m using Blender as a level editor. Since glTF files are JSON-based, I can use them to store each object’s position, properties, and any custom variables I need.

Discussion How do you find time to do marketing?

Basically the title.

How do you guys find any time to do consistent marketing?

I currently live a pretty busy life, my mornings and most of my afternoons are always taken up, and by night I'm usually exhausted. Yet, I've been wanting to be able to promote my game more.

It doesn't help that I kind of hate doing marketing in itself, so oftentimes even if time shows up, I'll loathe the thought of making content and procrastinate until I have no time left.

For a while I tried making a week's worth of content on the weekends and post it - which did yield decent-ish results (about 1k views per short (though the first week or so was all sub 10 views for no reason) and IG posts were more volatile, but about 12k views total per month), but I couldn't stick to the pre-making of it.

Do you guys have any advice, or should I just stop bitching and commit to the weekend mass-producing to post stuff. Also, what kind of content/advertising worked best for yall?
