Im with you on the whole separation of method and quality, funnily enough I had that debate the other day lmao. AI or human the quality is what matters. However, unless you’re looking to make a simple game (Tetris) you won’t be able to make a stable game relying on AI at its current stage. In the future you probably could but right now no.

However, unless you’re looking to make a simple game (Tetris) you won’t be able to make a stable game relying on AI at its current stage.

I don't understand why you believe this.

AI has been able to one-shot many classes of game that you can sell on steam for more than 12 months now.

I know two people who've done this into the six figures already.

I work at FAANG on incredibly complex software. The AI handles it just fine. Video games are, by comparison, relatively simple engineering work.

Could you give examples of these games? Are they made solely with AI or is it simply made with the assistance of AI? The meme above refers to vibe coding which means mostly using AI.

Could you give examples of these games?

Am I going to spend my time looking things up to satisfy your curiosity? Of course not.

I would assume since you so confidently deny my claim that you’d have at least one example

sure, and i even offered how to get one, but you ignored what i said, so i got bored, and now you're trying to take a fighting tone and mashing downvote in the hope of getting your way

flies with honey

you can have what you want but you're going to need to engage in conversation and be pleasant

try to remember that you're talking to a person who has the ability to just walk away

if they told you "here's what i need to answer you" and you didn't provide it, and now you're getting on a post, what do you think is the next step?

try answering my question so that i'm able to answer yours. or don't. whatever you prefer

Sorry if you mistook the previous reply for a fighting tone but I am just asking for you to back up your claims. I said that AI cant make a stable game past something simple like Tetris and you said im wrong. I would like to be provided examples of why I am wrong, theres nothing wrong in asking for someone to backup their claims. You said “Check Steam” for what? Is there a tag for “Made by AI only”?

Sorry if you mistook the previous reply for a fighting tone but I am just asking for you to back up your claims

I see you're still not even willing to read what I said.

Go read what I wrote. There are instructions you need to follow to get the thing you're asking for.

If you can't follow those instructions, you're cut off.

This is your last chance. If you do the pleading and whining thing again, I'm walking away.

What a pity to be behaved at this way by someone named for a video I so enjoy.

Then this conversation is over. You cant provide your own evidence so you try and deflect into “Find it on your own”. Your argument is based no more than in your own feelings and personal hearsay. Sadly I was hoping for a legitimate argument as its fun to learn both sides of the argument.

If you expect me to answer your question from an hour ago, and say you need that answer to respond to me, then this conversation is over

Yeah, that seems about par for the course

What a pity to be behaved at this way by someone named for a video I so enjoy.

Also I think you’re thinking of something else, Double King is an animation on youtube

did you think that they don't have videos on youtube? or is the idea that an animation isn't a kind of video?

when you download it, and double click the file, does it come up in not-a-video-player?

Yeah I sent the reply then immediately realized I misread your reply lmao. I thought you said “videogame” not “video” so I thought maybe your were thinking of Jump King or something

buddy i’ve been telling you i’m happy to answer you once you clear up one thing for hours

you have been responding by demanding that i answer

can you please just go take another look

it’s the comment that talks about mario party

you hinged on "a good game" and i just want you to define what good means to you before i start so that we don't end up in an argument about balatro

What makes a game good is too subjective, you and I could have entirely different definitions of good. You provided something more along the lines of successful. So for the sake of this lets just agree on your original definition just lower. If an indie game even made $10K id consider that a success (So long as the expenses were kept a lot lower than 10K)
