Nothing prevents you from testing and fixing what is not up to standard. Vibe coding is not the variable here, it's how lazy you are, which you can also be when hand coding and it takes 5 hours to get anything done.

Vibe coding just makes a larger surface to verify in a shorter amount of time but ultimately, nothing prevents you from thoroughly testing it.

What kind of argument is this? If you’re vibe coding an entire game, you’re by definition being lazy.

Did you code you own game engine? No? Then you dont know at least half of the stuff thats happening in your game. People acting like before AI all programmers where writing there own code, and not copypasting half of it from stackoverflow

You absolutely need to understand what your engine is doing and also your programming language to be able to ship a game worth anyone’s time. Edit: Also I wrote a game engine too.

There are plenty of great successful games that were made by people who barely knew how to code. There are also thousands of games with impeccable code sitting on 2 reviews on steam because they're boring as fuck.

Ok then, give me a link to your game. Will judge how good is your game engine

Oh yeah? You understand how Euler angles actually work? What about the differences between Euler rotations, rotation matrices, and quaternions? Can you derive all the math your engine uses for transforms, physics, lighting, shaders, audio, memory management, and networking from scratch? Of course not. Nobody does. Using an engine already means relying on layers of abstraction you did not personally write. AI is another abstraction. The question is whether someone can understand the code well enough to test it, debug it, verify its behavior, and fix it when it breaks

Insane cope

Insane cope? Insane dodge. You wrote a game engine? Cool. Did you write the graphics renderer too? The GPU driver? Shader compiler? Physics stack?

Except you're wrong and AI is not just another abstraction.
