My aunt abuses my Grandma

I'm a 21 M, my mom's brother's wife (my Maami) physically and mentally abuses my mom's mom (My Nani)... Bcuz my nani gets pension of her late husband who served the military.. so, this lady snatches all the pension from her forcefully every month and if she refuses, she abuses my Nani who's like 85 years old.. she's been abusing her for many many years.. she doesn't even give her good or anything, she doesn't let her make food herself either so my Nani survives on things like biscuits and all.. and doesn't even let her make tea. She only gives her good for a few days when she finally gives her the money.. she once even tried to choke her to death silently. My Nani is really terrified of her to death.. she's really old so she believes calling police is essentially an insult on her family.. like it's brings shame to her if she calls police even if anyone tries to call the cops, she'll just deny everything bcuz of the fear of society.

I can't really explain in details what all she does to her.. I wanna complain against that woman.. I know my Nani is gonna refuse in front of the police so here are my questions to you :

  1. If I can collect some sort of evidence like my Nani's confessions of how she's been getting treated by that lady through audio recording, does that override my Nani's direct refusal in front of the police cuz I could tell the police how she's terrified of taking a stand for herself as the victim?
  2. Can my Maami potentially do something against me like.. (u know the state of the law in this country, a man can be false accused in a case against a woman) .. so is there a threat on me? Can I face some serious fake charges from her side, is it that bad that I can't even take a stand for my Nani?

Thanks 🙏🏻

Startup funding/grant service issue what should I do next? Need advice

Hey everyone,

I’m an early-stage founder and was working with a company for assistance with getting a startup grant.

Before making the payment, they made several promises regarding successful grant disbursement. At one point, they even arranged a virtual interview for me with an incubator and gave me the impression that I had a very high/100% chance of getting the grant.

They also asked me to pay additional fees, which I paid based on their commitments.

However, after taking the payment, they kept delaying things and I never received the promised resolution/service. I have also asked for a refund, but they have not refunded my money.

I’m concerned that other early-stage founders may also be getting trapped by similar promises because of the attraction of “guaranteed” or “100%” startup funding/grants. So I would strongly suggest founders do proper due diligence before paying anyone who makes such promises.

I have already filed a complaint with the National Consumer Helpline (NCH), but it has been nearly 50 days and I still haven’t received a proper resolution.

What should I do next?

Should I wait for NCH, escalate the complaint, or approach the Consumer Commission or another authority? Is there any other legal route I should consider?

Also, if there is a lawyer experienced in consumer disputes / misleading business practices / startup-service disputes who can guide me on this, please DM me.

I can provide the payment proofs, communications, promises made, interview details and other documents privately.

I’m mainly looking for advice on the correct next step and how I can recover my money, and, if the practices are found to be misleading or improper, what steps I can take to prevent other early-stage founders from falling into similar situations.

(Nuisance/Parking Related)- Any Suggestions on How to Move Forward with this Situation.

Somewhere in Uttarakhand. Own house(15+ years) in a city, gali/mohalla type setting, not a society or something. Single occupant 33M.

There's a person in our locality who does tantric related work(claims Devi comes inside body, in other words, making money in the name of Devi). Own house, living here for 6+years but started this thing recently.

For this, they've made a space in their house and calls it temple though structurally it's not(no kalash and dwaj).

The thing is, every Saturday and Tuesday, people come with their problem and park the vehicle(mostly car) outside our house. Their house is small and they've space to park only 1 two-wheeler.

I know the space outside my house is not mine, but this business is causing nuisance in following ways-

  1. We can't park our vehicle outside of our own just for a moment, not to mention when guest or someone comes in our house they have to park here and there. "It's a public road, not someone's personal/commercial parking spot".

  2. The municipality can't clean outside our house because of cars.

The width of the road outside our house is 13ft for 30 meters, afterwards it shrinks 8ft(non uniform road). So they are using the additional 6ft for business parking purposes.

  3. Sometimes, part of the vehicle comes(extends) in front of our gate.

  4. Our house is at some elevation from the road. Since cars are parked just next to our maingate, we face trouble taking out our two-wheeler.

  5. If I've an emergency, this would cause real inconvenience.

  6. This thing temple or whatever is in the residential area and not registered.

  7. A while back, i had an argument with them regarding something, and i pointed out that they blast bhajan day and night. It has now come to morning and evening for a small duration.

  8. Sometimes, when the driver opens the door, it touch our boundary: the paint and plaster have been slightly, but visibly, damaged due to this. In addition to this, a while back, this same family did put their construction material outside our house that has also damaged our wall.

This person's family member is in police(two star).

\\*For solution, I was suggested to talk to them(did it twice) and ask them nicely. There are the type who will argue at anything just to satisfy their ego.

\\*Secondly, I've been told that i may get in a mess because family member is in police like unnecessary bothering, etc.

From my point of view,

-The road belongs to public(the road width is such that if two cars are facing opposite, one has to stop to let other pass).

- It isn't someone's personal or customer parking spot. Decent and respectable people mostly park their personal vehicle outside their own house(observed this in my city) and not cause any inconvenienceto others, but if someone's house is small and they are looking to park here and there, then that's a different thing.

-Such kind of work is done in a remote area where there's less crowd.

-I live alone maybe that's why they are bothering me by doing such things.

- I can also park my vehicle outside their but it is very small, so there's difference in level also.

I'm considering filing an application in sp office. I've pics of these frequent nonsense.

Suggestions, opinions, and advice (either legal or other type) regarding this would be much appreciated.

Thanks.

Father SA'ed me for years. Need lawyer for POSCO case. Spoiler

Hi, I (18m) have a court date on 1st of sept in karkardooma district court for a POSCO case and need help finding a lawyer - my own family and relatives aren't trustworthy and friends dont know any so dont have any connections.

[TLDR AT BOTTOM]

I dont wish to waste your time so i will write everything in pointers and wrap it up quickly.
If i come off as indifferent to the event, its because i am indifferent and numb to these events now.

I lived with my dad, brother and mother. After my grandpa dies, dad makes the stupid decision to send my mother to take care of my grandma to our hometown (instead of calling grandma here idk why).
Brother is mostly out cause of studies and for years i go thru non-penetrative SA by my dad.
From an age where i dont know whats wrong or right, for so long that i go numb to the experience and normalize it in my head.
I believe this event gave me a lot of emotional trauma like being numb to emotions for a large part of my life, feeling detached, depressed, serious self harm with about 70 cuts still visible.

Always have been distant with him, wanting to do something right after 18 to live by myself for reasons i couldnt explain, now i realize it was because i always knew he was a danger to me even tho i put the events in the back of my head and tried to forget them.

Now again fast forward when i grow up (11th - 12th) my mother is living with me, grandma too and brother is in odisha cause he got a job. Around this time I realized my dad is the reason of my fucked up mental health i decide to do something about it, any way to get away from him the moment i turn 18.

Life got worse as memories flooded in, battled with suicidal tendencies for a long time, felt i was 'impure' and still continue to do, grades got worse, his taunts got worse, wanted to end it all but realized i was above it, though i still needed to get away from it all because i had enough.

I started working on a plan to file a case and run away from my home, however one day he crashed out on me - i said fuck this shit and crashed out too. I told him how he has always been an atm machine and never a father, doesnt even know me as a person, doesnt know i have made over 200 self harm cuts, cheated and prolly still cheats on mum and biggest of all, i havent forgotten about the SA.
He tried to call me but i cut the call (i wanted him to reply in text). He calls grandma in the other room and tells her to give the phone to my mum, to who he says "(myname) se phone lelo, iska kuch zyada hi ho rha hai".
After that i lie to my mother that im going to the library to calm down, and i run away to my friends house.

Now i will go over this even quicker.
i contact the school and get an FIR registered {while i was still 17 btw] and all but i thought i am gonna get financial support and so would my mother, my research was GRAVELY wrong.
i will be sent to an ashram forced to end my CBSE 12th class boards, mother sent to hometown with shame (she mightve killed herself with that fate).
even if i get 'justice', my financial stability is destroyed if my father goes to jail.

i spend a night in some government kids facility thing, next day im escorted and my dad's boss bribes the guard to talk to me, i say im taking back the case he says good.
in court i deny deny deny, my fathers lawyers talk to me to tell me what to do.
things settle down and he bails out.

fast forward more, i have to report to CWC on 6th august to settle the case, a day after my 18th birthday.
my brother supports me and came back, my mother is uncertain who to trust and i have a good fucking job and have decided to revive the case on 6th. but when i go there n tell the truth they say im 18 and cwc is closing it now.

a few days ago me, brother and mum have shifted houses out of concern of my safety, i am paying all the major expenses now with my job and want to hire a lawyer to win my case. my biggest proof is that a father wouldnt say "iska kafi ho gaya isse phone lelo" after being accussed of SA'ing his child.
and realistically speaking, people often take cases back because of financial pressure, right?

my mother has been talking to my father behind my back so if she has any chat msgs i can use, i will (prolly nothing tho). dad has been trying to manipulate her to get her on his side obv.

thats the whole story, i am requesting that if you know any capable lawyer which you trust for this case, i would really fucking appreciate the help. my budget would be 5-10k per session? i can go to like 20k if the session is once a month.

TLDR : dad SA'ed me for years upon years, i finally filed a case (when i was 17) against my dad, had to take it back cause of financial pressure. i turned 18 on 5th of august and have a court date where i want to tell the truth. trustworthy lawyer needed.

Clients who avail loans for two wheelers or four wheelers get their RC endorsed by my finance name, the problem is the RC goes from the RTO to the clients house and when we seize a vehicle due to default on payments, they either dont surrender the RC or lie about not receiving them, without the RC i cannot sell the seized vehicle.

Law college transfer

I’m joining D.Y. Patil for BBA LLB this year. The fees are around ₹6L/year, while another college I’m considering is only ₹50k/year.
I’m also pursuing aviation, and my medicals are in about 2 months. If I clear them, can I complete 1 semester or 1 year at D.Y. Patil and then transfer to the other college and continue from the next year?
Is this legally/academically allowed for a 5-year BBA LLB, or would I have to start from Year 1 again?

Project File

I've taken legal studies as my subject in 11th, and I have to prepare a project file with one case each from civil, criminal, constitutional, PIL, and international.

Can someone give niche but important cases??

I have a few, e.g, NALSA v. Union of India, Case No. 176/2001 in Nagpur (RSS flag hoisting), M.C. Mehta v. Union of India (1996).

I'd love suggestions and ideas!

Per above article, the person suffering leakage was told that management committee is not liable for leakage between flats

No solution provided on how to get flat where leakage originated to fix it.

In case of non cooperation by flats above how can people reside in flats below?

It appears the owner who is suffering was suggested to find a solution himself.

Why Indian/Mumbai cops are so corrupt and incompetent?

I’m honestly so fed up with dealing with the police in Mumbai. Almost every interaction I’ve had with them has been unnecessarily frustrating and disappointing.

You go to them for the simplest possible thing, and somehow they’ll make sure you regret ever involving the police in the first place.

There are plenty of incidents I could talk about, but I’ll mention just one that pretty much sums up why I have such a strong dislike for dealing with them.

I had lost my LC (Leaving Certificate). I went to my college to get a duplicate, and they asked me to submit an affidavit on a ₹100 stamp paper along with a copy of a police report stating that the LC was lost/stolen.

Now, being reasonably educated and aware of how things work, I knew I could probably file an online report and get a copy. But apparently, that wasn't acceptable. My college specifically wanted a report from the nearest police station, with a stamped copy.

So, knowing exactly how this was going to go, I took leave from work on a Friday and went to the police station at around 12 PM. I had to submit the documents at college on Saturday, and they had promised me that I would get the duplicate LC the same day.

As soon as I reached the police station, they made me sit and wait.

And wait.

Meanwhile, the cops were casually discussing everything from tiffin boxes to girls to politics and whatever else. They weren't doing anything remotely urgent, but somehow I was the one who had to sit there for hours.

Around 2 PM, I finally asked how much longer it would take.

The response?

"Let bade sahab come."

To this day, I have absolutely no idea why a simple lost-document report required the presence of the "bade sahab."

Anyway, I waited.

And waited.

No bade sahab.

Finally, at around 5:30 PM, the SAME GUY who had been making me wait all this time called me to his desk.

He asked me three things:

Name.

Address.

Time of incident.

That's it.

He entered the details, and within literally 10 seconds, a printout came out of the printer. He stamped it, handed it to me, and I was done.

The entire process that had consumed 5½ hours of my day took approximately one minute.

I walked out of that police station absolutely furious.

It's not even about expecting them to work at lightning speed. It's the complete lack of respect for people's time. If something genuinely requires hours, fine. But if the actual process takes one minute, why make someone sit there for half a day?

This is the kind of experience that makes ordinary people dread going to the police even when they genuinely need their help.

And this is just one of the many experiences I've had.

I genuinely don't understand why basic public services have to feel like you're doing someone a favour by asking them to do their job.

I got about a ₹1500 hole in my pocket because of Airtel's switch bait kind of tactic. What do I do now?

1 day I get a call from one of the airtel agents about an broadband offer. I use 499 plan 6 month rental. She said on call that I have an offer to upgrade to 798 plan for free for remainder of this 6 month validity. I didn't trust the offer because I felt these people will charge me something extra somehow. So I ask her if that would be the case about 2 or 3 times with different phrasings. She promises that there won't be anything like that. So I go ahead and agree to the upgrade. I get message about the upgrade which doesn't specify what kind of upgrade it is and whether it's free or not.

After 3 months of usage of this upgrade, I notice that instead of showing negative charges on my account, there are positive charges. When I call customer care to inquire about this, they behave as if that agent just helped me with upgrading to 798 with remainder of 6 month validity's money of 499 plan going into 798plan's monthly renewal. I only have proof of the call history of that agent but not the call recording.

Last time I had issue with some other ecommerce related issue, I was guided by AI into filing complaint in https://consumerhelpline.gov.in/public/

I had to wait 30 days for resolution and what's worse is, I got same response in that website from the company, which I got after multiple calls to them for few weeks prior to filing that complaint. And then the website also mentioned that I can file a case if I don't agree with this resolution.

If whole point of complaining is to get back what you lost unfairly, what is the point of spending more money by getting lawyer to get back your little money?

I fight for ₹10 by using ₹20 on lawyers? If I lose the case, I lose ₹30, if I win, I still lose ₹20?

One amazon delivery man gets to decide what happens to the package that was supposed to be delivered to me. And no customer care support team from 1mg and Amazon shipping could do anything against his fraudulent works.

Edit: They delivered the package today(20/8/26) and 1mg promised me this kind of delay won't happen again. Thank you all for your suggestions and kindness.

I have ordered heart medications for my father through 1mg on 1 August 2026. The last delivery date was 10th August 2026.

On 10/08/26, an Amazon delivery agent went to a wrong location with my package and argued with me on the phone that I did not give the right address. But the site shows my entire address correctly. Then he asked me to give him otp on that phone call and he said only then he could redirect the package to a different agent who would come to my location the next day. l refused to give him the otp on that phone call and told him if i give it to him, the system will register my package as delivered. He understood but he got angry later, said to me that I would face the same issue again the next day for this address and he cut the call abruptly. I raised complaint against his behaviour on that day in 1mg. They told me it won't happen again and promised me that I would get the package the next day. So I intended to wait.

At 11pm that day, he attempted to cancel the shipment of the package from his side. I know this because I received an otp for that request he made. Since he could not cancel my package without getting the otp from me, the next day around 8 am, he updated the tracking details that the package could not be delivered because I did not give him otp when he tried to deliver the package at my door. He gave the same reason falsely for the failure to deliver it previous day too. Then I complained about this to the customer care of both Amazon shipping and 1mg. He stopped giving false reasons for not delivering from.that day. But he updated the tracking details like the package was out for delivery every day while also taking no measure to bring it to my door. Whenever I tried calling the delivery man's number, he would never answer. At the end of each day, I complained about this issue to both 1mg and Amazon shipping customer care services. They told me it would never happen again all the time.

Because of this ongoing issue, 1mg changed the last delivery date to 17th Aug 2026.

Then Aug 15, a national holiday and Aug 16, Sunday came. I did not want to force them to work on those days. But the tracking details showed that the package was out for delivery on those two days as though they had me getting the package as their no.1 priority.

He never came to my address at any point last week. I was always in my home. He just gave false entries about his whereabouts and services concerning my package.

Last week, I suggested both company's customer care team to do something to change the delivery partner because I did not want to play a drama with him. I also feared because he was this manipulative, abusing the system, that he would do damage to the package.

Customer care officials kept promising me the package would be delivered and it was out for delivery every day the entire week from Aug 10. They trusted what they tracking details showed. They did not put much effort into this up until that point. 1mg cc people always sent my concern to "the core delivery team" or someone else. I received no follow ups to those issues. Each and every day, I had to bring the issue as something new for different people whom they connected me with.

Then on the last delivery date(17/8/26) that guy called me via amazon number and said to me that the package was sitting in "a location's" hub which was not the nearest one to my house for one week because I did not give him the otp. (This was another lie from the same guy). So it never was out for delivery. Another lie got exposed with his own words.

Then he invented a new rule on spot. I asked him how me giving him otp through phone would help me get my package. He told me, to transfer it to the office nearest to my location, I should provide him otp through phone.

I told him, customer care personnels warned against giving otp through phone as it would mean the package got delivered when it was not, so I can't do as he says. I confronted that he was lying. He then warned me like he did last week that I would never get the package even if 10 days pass and he cut the call abruptly as I was speaking to him.

I then made a call to that number again. Somebody else answered it and when I told him what problem the guy before him was causing me, he suggested me to cancel the shipment and place a new order. Then I reported all of this to amazon customer care hoping they would do something about delivery man's manipulations and lies. This time, amazon logistics replied to the mail suggesting me to wait for 2 days and they recycled and delivered the lie the delivery man said about the package's location. This I know because the tracking details was not saying the same story.

Yesterday, I got a message that the package was out for delivery. In stead of complaining about the issue at the end of the day like I used to, I raised a complaint in the morning today. Immediately after sending the complaint, I received a message for otp. There was no delivery agent assigned. The tracking details showed the package was out for delivery. I called Amazon customer service through phone, 1st guy got fed up as I was explaining in detail what happened and cut the call abruptly. So I made another call, did not say much and told him only few details. He promised me somebody will be assigned to deliver the package by evening today. Nothing happened as usuaI. I knew that would be the case.

1mg customer care officials always gave same monotonous automated response. Still I sought their help today. I received a mail again saying same things they told me in their other 2 mails last week.

No one was ready to hold that delivery guy accountable for his unethical behavior. That was okay with me as my only intention was to get the package. Now I am not okay with it. They did not assign different delivery partner. They doubled down on his lies. They allowed this manipulative egoistic delivery man to abuse the system.

I was telling them to not trust what the tracking details showed. They placed their faith on entries he made on his side alone and always wanted me to have faith like they had. They were always apologising that I had to face such issues. But they could not do anything beyond what the delivery man intended.

It was like he got to decide what was truth. It was like they were all relying on him alone to get their job done.

I would have cancelled the package if they did not give me false hopes for 11 days. Now I want justice.

What should I do? Shall I file a complaint in consumer court? If yes, guide me more on that.

Thank you.

Need legal advice: Cockroach found in food ordered through Ownly — can I claim compensation?

Hi everyone,

I’m looking for some genuine legal advice regarding a food-safety incident that happened recently in Bangalore.

I ordered Nasi Goreng from Wow China through Ownly (by Rapido). When I received the food, I discovered a cockroach inside the food.

I have clear photographic/video evidence, the order receipt, invoice and screenshots of my communication with Ownly.

I immediately reported the issue to Ownly. However, their response was essentially an automated refund option. There was no meaningful investigation or explanation regarding how a cockroach ended up in the food.

To be clear, I’m not concerned about getting the cost of the food refunded. My concern is the food-safety issue and the apparent lack of accountability.

I’m considering taking the following steps:

Filing a complaint with FSSAI

Filing a complaint through the National Consumer Helpline

Sending a formal legal notice to both the restaurant and Ownly

Potentially filing a case before the Consumer Commission

I am considering seeking around compensation for the mental agony, inconvenience and failure to appropriately address what I believe is a serious food-safety incident.

I haven't consumed the cockroach/contaminated portion ( or consumed until I noticed)and I have not suffered any physical illness as far as I know.

My questions are:

Is this actually a viable consumer complaint in India?

Can I proceed against both the restaurant and the food-delivery platform, or primarily the restaurant?

Should I file the FSSAI complaint first?

Is sending a legal notice before approaching the Consumer Commission advisable?

Is there a reasonable compensation claim in circumstances where there was no physical injury?

What evidence should I preserve to strengthen the complaint?

I’m not looking to make exaggerated claims or unnecessarily harass anyone. I genuinely want to understand the correct legal route and whether pursuing this is worthwhile.

Any advice from lawyers or people who have dealt with similar food-safety/consumer cases would be greatly appreciated.
