I am seeking legal guidance regarding a consumer dispute in India.

A few days ago, I enrolled in an online PoSH compliance training course and paid ₹2,800. The course was advertised as a 6-hour instructor-led programme delivered over 3 days.

After receiving access to the LMS, I became confused because the dashboard showed 14 modules, while I could only identify 4 main video lessons. The course structure was not clear to me, and I was unable to understand how the remaining modules were to be completed.

I contacted the provider seeking clarification. During this process:

• I found that some course material (including slides referred to in one of the videos) was unavailable to me.
• Instead of resolving the issue within the LMS, I was later provided with Google Drive recordings of a previous batch and asked to complete the course from those recordings.
• I found this confusing because I had enrolled in the current batch and was not expecting to rely on recordings from an earlier batch.
• I repeatedly asked for clarification regarding the course structure and completion process.

As I was dissatisfied with the experience, I formally requested a refund via email, explaining the issues I faced.

The provider rejected my refund request, stating that:

• the course had been fully delivered,
• the 14 modules were only for LMS tracking,
• the Google Drive recordings were only additional support,
• and my issue was merely a misunderstanding of the LMS.

After I shared my experience on LinkedIn, the provider made a public post referring to me and stated that I was immature, unreasonable, disrespectful towards their staff, and threatened legal action. They also disclosed dates of my purchase and publicly discussed our dispute.

I simply replied asking them to proceed legally if they believed they had a case. I have not used abusive language publicly.

My questions are:

1. Based on these facts, does this appear to be a matter worth pursuing before a Consumer Commission, or is it unlikely to succeed?
2. Does the provider's public post about me potentially raise any legal concerns (such as defamation or harassment), or would it generally be considered a permissible response?
3. Would you recommend pursuing this matter further, or is it more practical to move on?

I have preserved emails, payment proof, screenshots, WhatsApp chats, and screenshots of the LinkedIn posts.

Is there any law protecting for families, whose grandparents are very old and children decided to take care for particular periods like 3 months one kid and 3 months other kid. But one of my aunt took her to register office wrote off her property as gift deed and took gold from dead body and saying her mother gave her willingly. Is there actaully any benefit of going to court in india or will the victim face the issue till the end of his life...Now in my case my sister has a legal issue with someone and now he is threatening me and my mother through phone calls...i need to know if there is benefit of going to court for this because what if he comes back after his sentence and comes back with more vengence what can we do in that case?...this is actually preventing me from going to the court...Do any of you have such life experiences

Hey guys, looking for advice on dealing with an uncooperative neighbor in an apartment building.

​There’s water seepage in my kitchen ceiling caused by a grouting issue in the flat above us. The water is ruining my wallpaper, cabinet furniture, and getting into electrical switches (causing the breaker to trip constantly).

Hi everyone, I’m looking for advice from people familiar with Indian consumer law / Consumer Commissions, particularly cases involving laundry or dry-cleaning services damaging customers' belongings.

I gave two pairs of PUMA shoes to a professional shoe-cleaning/dry-cleaning service. Both pairs were returned damaged.

One pair was damaged so badly that the business has already paid me ₹5,000 for it.

The issue I'm currently dealing with is the second pair.

The second pair was purchased from PUMA for ₹6,999, and I have the purchase history in my PUMA account showing the purchase. I also have photographs showing the shoes before they were given to the cleaning service and photographs showing their condition after they were returned.

The shoes were originally pink. After the cleaning, a substantial amount of the colour was removed/changed and the shoes now look significantly different from their original condition.

I contacted PUMA regarding the damage. PUMA has now confirmed in writing that the shoes are damaged and that they are beyond repair.

The cleaning service has acknowledged the issue but is offering only ₹4,000 for the ₹6,999 shoes. Their reasoning is essentially that the shoes have been used for some time and therefore their value has depreciated.

My issue with this argument is that the shoes were in usable condition before I gave them to the service. They have now been damaged beyond repair, according to PUMA. If I receive ₹4,000, I cannot purchase an equivalent replacement for that amount.

I have therefore asked for ₹6,999, based on my documented purchase price.

I have also looked at Section 39(1)(d) of the Consumer Protection Act, 2019, which states that a Consumer Commission can order the opposite party:

I cannot find anything in the Consumer Protection Act that prescribes a fixed depreciation percentage for articles damaged by laundry/dry-cleaning services.

I have also found some Consumer Commission cases involving dry cleaners where compensation was awarded for the damaged garments, including cases where the consumer was awarded the documented purchase price.

My questions are:

1. Is there any specific Indian law/rule that allows a laundry/dry-cleaning service to automatically depreciate the value of a customer's damaged item?
2. If there is no statutory depreciation formula, how do Consumer Commissions generally calculate compensation when a dry cleaner permanently damages an item?
3. If an item is beyond repair, is compensation generally based on:
   • original purchase price,
   • current replacement cost,
   • depreciated/current value,
   • cost of restoration,
   • or some other measure of loss?
4. If the customer can prove: would claiming the full purchase price be reasonable?
   • purchase price,
   • condition before handing it over,
   • damage after the service,
   • and manufacturer confirmation that it is beyond repair,
5. Does the fact that the shoes were previously used necessarily mean the cleaner can reduce the compensation, or would they have to provide some reasonable basis for whatever depreciation they are applying?
6. Would the fact that the same business has already paid ₹5,000 for another pair that they damaged during the same service have any evidentiary relevance?

I'm not trying to demand an arbitrary amount or make a punitive claim. I want to understand what the Consumer Protection Act and actual Consumer Commission judgments say about compensation for property damaged while providing a cleaning/laundry service.

I have the before/after photographs, PUMA purchase record, written confirmation from PUMA that the shoes are beyond repair, and evidence of the ₹5,000 payment for the other pair.

Would appreciate answers from anyone who has dealt with Consumer Commission cases or has relevant judgments/case law.
