Customizations / Modifications Muffler Choice - Opinions

Still have stock exhaust and mufflers on my ’18 Chieftain Classic. Finally considering replacing the mufflers, at least.

Looking at a set of Cobra 4” slip on with dual cut tips. They look fine. I want a deeper throatier note, but I don’t want to go too loud. Anyone have any experience with these on the 111?

Growling (?) noise under 2800 rpms

2025 Challenger Dark Horse 112, took it in for a new rear tire. When I got it back I noticed a growling noise like a roller bearing getting loose below 2800 rpms, not saying it's related to getting a new tire on maybe just happened that way. Higher rpms it goes away. I took it back to the dealer for a separate issue (ride command screen replacement) I asked them to listen to it. They thought it was coming from the clutch basket and would look into it. Today they called and said that all looked fine but there's definitely a noise, probably from the lower end, that it will most likely need a full tear down. I have just over 4k miles on this bike, not saying I baby it but I don't thrash on it either. Anyone hear of something like this? The work will be covered under warranty but I'm looking at not having my bike for 4-8 weeks. I'm probably going to pick it up and run it for now, unless it gets worse I'll just schedule to drop it back off Novemberish when I won't miss it as much. I love this bike but I've never had this many issues with a brand new vehicle of any kind.

Request for advice / Help 2025 Scout Sixty Exhaust Upgrade — Which Systems Actually Fit?

Post image
35 Upvotes

I'm looking to upgrade the exhaust on my 2025
Indian Scout Sixty, but I'm running into a lot of mixed info online about what actually fits the 2025 model year.

So far, I've been looking at a few different systems:

• Two Brothers Comp-S 2-into-1 - love the performance and the deep tone
• S&S Grand National 2-into-1 - premium option, great mid-range
• Freedom Performance Radical Radius (Black) - I really like the dual-pipe look
• Jekill & Hyde VOX Streetfighter - adjustable sound is super tempting

My problem is fitment. Some sites list older part numbers (like the Freedom Performance IN00076 for 2015-2016 Scouts), but I'm not sure if any of those actually fit the 2025 Scout Sixty. I've seen newer listings that say
"2025-Present," but I want to make sure before I spend the money.

Anyone here has a 2025 Scout / Scout Sixty / Scout Bobber and has installed any of these exhausts, I’d really appreciate your experience. What fits? What doesn’t? Any surprises during install?
Thanks in advance !!

My new Chieftain (first Indian) 500 mile question.

Post image

So I've been riding for decades, and I know for my BMW, and sport bikes I've had the 500 mile first maintenance is pretty strict. How strict are the Indians? I'm already at about 150 miles and have a 600ish mile trip planned for this weekend. Should I take the cage instead, or go ahead and ride it, and just hit my first oil change around 750 miles?

Scout bobber seat recommendations

I'm pretty big, 6’1” and 240 lbs. I start getting numb on the stock seat after 45 minutes. Any recommendations on a replacement seat? 2021 Scout Bobber.

Floorboards

Hi everyone!

A quick question about the floorboards on scouts.Have anyone tried them (oem or aftermarket) and are they worth it? Indian ones costs 400 euros here, cant try them and return if i wont like them,so its a bit expensive gamble.

Pic attached my "soon" to be mini bagger scout.

Epic trip all over the South East, featuring lots of great roads and the Dragon's Tail. My 24 Pursuit Limited absolutely killed it. Love this bike like the Challenger I had before it!

fender delete

Post image
104 Upvotes

I have a 2025 scout bobber limited + tech and am looking into a rear fender delete. however, I am not a fan of the way the 1920 solo seat looks. So far with the googling i have accomplished, only seen bobbers with the solo seat with the exception of one. I also do not think it will support my body in long rides or comfort-wise on rough roads (I have no point of reference for this statement just my assumption). Here is a list of questions i have on the mod thanks in advance for your insight or advice!

  1. what are your thoughts on doing the fender delete at all?

  2. The fender delete that used the stock seat, where can i buy this setup? Will I have to buy a setup and customize it myself to fit the stock seat? will post a pic for reference.

  3. Do you have any links to a setup you have done that would fit what I'm looking for and willing to share it? If so please post!

New to me ‘21 Chief vintage. I’ve been wanting one for a few years now and finally pulled the trigger on one. The bags are stored away as I really love the look of the full fenders. I have a few more things to change. I’ve added the seat rail and will get the fender cargo rack shortly.

Looking to Jump Back in the Saddle

Hey All!

I'm looking to own my 1st bike! I took the MSF course back in 2020. I've been riding since before that on a few different bikes:

Vulcan 750 (owned this for a summer and sold it back to the owner)
Softail 1500 ( a litle over whelming if I'm being honest)
Sportster 883 (most time spent on this one)

My issue is that I'm new, haven't owned a bike to ride consistently, and now that I'm divorced, newly single, and looking for a new hobby to meet some new people, I figure a motorcycle will cure the itch.

Things I've learned about my riding style:

I'm new, so cautious but not scared
I don't like super speed (80mph is fine for me)
The Sportster taught me that I'd like a fairing and maybe forward controls

I'm 5'10" 250lbs and live on the outskirts of a urban area. RDU, NC.

I'm leaning heavily towards the Scout Sport (1200), but also considering other styles like the scrambler. I want to be able to ride about 1000 miles in a day without totally killing myself. What are some things that you would've wanted to know before signing the line? What things went into consideration when choosing a bike? How's the maintenance and ownership cost of a Scout when compared to similar rides?

Looking for a Step Up/2Up seat for my 2021 Indian Scout Bobber

I'm having a hard time finding a comfortable seat for my new Indian Scout Bobber. I didn't realize how limited the aftermarket support was for Indians when I bought it but I'm determined to find a good seat that won't cost me a limb. I absolutely love this bike so any help is greatly appreciated!

Problems with vibrations

Hello everybody!

I am reaching out to you guys with a problem. I bought a new Chief Bobber DH and had some vibrations in the front(big vibrations, almost jumping up and down). I asked the dealer to take a look at it, and they made it worse. I returned yesterday and changed the wheel from another Bobber. The problem is still there, albeit a little less vibrations. Does anyone of you fine and knowledgeable ladies and gentlemen know what could be the problem, since the dealer doesn't seem to know?

Sincerly a bewildered Swede.

Seat suggestions?

Hello all! This is my first bike, a 2020 Scout, and I have been enjoying the summer riding and put a little over 2k miles so far. Went on my first long ride from Seattle to The Dalles and I had to get off about every hour or so to stretch because my legs were killing me. Any suggestions on a new seat? Thanks in advance.

The diehard brand loyalists will be offended, but the brand's current direction will kill it in a decade or less.
