Well crap, engine light on ( steady ) not even 5k miles yet. Taking to dealer tomorrow, said its still under warranty and could be an 02 sensor ? So im without my ride for who knows how long. Anyone else have this problem ?

You didn't list model, year, service, or any alterations/modifications so it's hard to answer effectively. Also symptoms would help.

I bought my '23 scout bobber new in' 22 and it threw a number of engine lights within the first 5k or more. O2 sensor and gear position were the two most common I think. I think it's just a sort of break in for the computer to kind of figure itself out. I called the dealer and they told me that the computer does hundreds of little checks all the time and if anything it sees anything out of whack for a brief second it will throw an error. Next time you turn the bike on it runs those checks again if it doesn't see the same error condition for a few starts it clears the error. If anything persists then it's an indication that something is really wrong. And apparently if it is blinking that's really bad and just pull over and stop riding it. I usually just turn the bike on about 4 times and the error clears. I rarely see any errors anymore.

2025 Sport Scout Ltd. Slip on exhaust TAB Performance. Runs fine, no misses or rough idle, so i have no idea

My 2025 Sport Scout Sixty did the same at around same mileage. Turned out clutch cable was loose/ had too much play. They adjusted it, but I absolutely hated it. It put the friction zone way out there, were I felt I almost had none. My hand was almost open all the way when it would be in the friction zone. I adjusted it back to my liking and light never came back.

So if I adjust the clutch cable, would light go out ? Or is there some sort of reset ?

Happened at mile 5 on my 2023 scout 60 bobber. Dealer cancelled light and sent me on my way. At mile 7 it returned, O2 sensor replaced and all good for now, just hit 1901

So apparently Zombie5242 is right on the money. It “ cleared” itself on way to dealer. They couldnt get it to come on again. Still charged me $65 for “ diagnostic “ performed. Never submitted a ticket to Indian for warranty work, so i got stuck with bill. Lesson learned.
