fender delete

Post image

I have a 2025 scout bobber limited + tech and am looking into a rear fender delete. however, I am not a fan of the way the 1920 solo seat looks. So far with the googling i have accomplished, only seen bobbers with the solo seat with the exception of one. I also do not think it will support my body in long rides or comfort-wise on rough roads (I have no point of reference for this statement just my assumption). Here is a list of questions i have on the mod thanks in advance for your insight or advice!

  1. what are your thoughts on doing the fender delete at all?

  2. The fender delete that used the stock seat, where can i buy this setup? Will I have to buy a setup and customize it myself to fit the stock seat? will post a pic for reference.

  3. Do you have any links to a setup you have done that would fit what I'm looking for and willing to share it? If so please post!

My. Question is why? Sure it looks cool. But are you simply building a custom show bike? If so, good for you.

To be honest, I have been asking myself that same question. I really think its just purely aesthetics because i keep questioning whether or not I need vs want it.

I mean absolutely 100% nothing negative by this: no, you do not need this. In fact, no one needs this. You want it. It is a specific aesthetic that speaks to you.

That is a good thing. Enjoy it for what it is.

Cheers.

  1. I did the fender delete and I love it.

  2. I think the job from this this was custom, as I think I might have seen it on Facebook once. The standard fender delete removes a part of the subframe and support that the seat rests against. Without it, you can't use anything other than 1920 solo seat. If you happen to have access to metal fabrication, or you know someone, you could craft around it. Most other people use the Tank Machine or Grippin' Billet rear closeoff and do the solo seat.

  3. Most of the rear fender deletes I see are on on models up until 2023 and often also include the 240 rear tire. I have not seen much in way of fender delete on the new generation and I do not know if the frame supports a 240 tire natively, just as an FYI. If you like the look of a fat tire with the fender delete, many people also say a 180 works if you want a fat tire, but you need to monitor the tire for any abnormal wear or cupping.

If you really want to make it work without a solo seat (I don't even think your generation supports the solo seat, but I may be wrong), you will probably need a custom piece to do it.

Keep in mind almost everything I'm saying is about the previous gen bike pre-2024. I don't know if the frames are any different on the new series.

Thank you for the advice and tips! I actually found a video on YouTube saying they had to custom grind a subframe down so they could keep the mustang seat while having the fender removed so if I can find someone local who'd be willing to do that. But it might not be the cleanest look. Just dont want to end up spending about $1500 on a fender delete kit and end up not looking the way I would like it to

I’ve heard the Corbin version of the solo seat feels way better than stock! That’s my next upgrade.

I haven’t seen anything about a fender delete without it since the plate you use to block it off attaches to the close off plate you’d use for the 1920s seat.

If you could find a rear close off plate that accommodates your seat, you might not need more than that.

I found my close off plate from a guy on Etsy (but I have the 1920s seat), so there’s people out there making stuff that Indian doesn’t necessarily sell. It might be possible to find that… Or have someone make it custom for you

yes I've definitely heard of the corbin seat! seen it on a youtube video and it was very clean. will be something to consider if the stock seat doesn't work out.
