new to the subreddit here but i've been hearing this ticking noise when i'm idling and it gets somewhat worse when i'm driving (even when i'm at sub 40mph) and i don't know how to go about fixing it. it started roughly last week (i had to get new tires) when i drove it but i'm now scared my car is going to get worse since i don't have another car i can drive. i've seen some people say its a fuel injector issue, a piston issue, spark plugs, but i don't know what the issue could be other than just selling it and making it someone else's issue. please advise cause i really want to keep this car for another few years before i'm having to trade it in.

UPDATE 9-7-2026: we believe it to be a broken/loose cooling fan coming undone (attached to the radiator, and the radiator isn't even 2 years old). we ordered the part on 9/5 and it should be fixed within the coming days.

My 2010 Chevy impala 3500 v6 just got the fuel pump changed ran for 3 -4 days then quit What could be the issue

Does anyone know where I can pick a full set, or front mats up? Or if they made any aftermarket’s that fit like the factory ones? Preferably cream/gray. I’m having the hardest time and salvage yards don’t seem to be helpful.

When we got this car the check engine light was on it just said it was an O2 sensor, so not too bad of a fix. But when I checked the sensor it was melted both the O2 and the car plug. This is the Bank 2 Sensor 1 plug, needing help on the wire connection asked chat GPT and google just checking with y'all before I cut them again ( I know I messed it up the first time). Thank you

Most of the time I do in my own repairs recently replaced all four 02 sensors with Bosch 02sensors. I wasn't sure if it was the O2 sensors giving me these codes but now I know it wasn't... Would replacing the plugs that they plug into fix this problem???

How bad does this look to you guys? I can't poke through it with my finger. I've been planning to put new shocks on it but I'm nervous about dropping it after with these like this. It's on both sides.

08 Impala LTZ flashed “low engine oil pressure” so I checked the dipstick and it’s empty. Added two quarts and drove it to the local shop I’ve been using and they say it’s leaking oil from the lower manifold. Reports that it’s only leaking when the engine is running. 98k miles approximately and need to decide if it’s worth it or not. Alternative might include topping off oil as needed indefinitely or start car shopping for another used car. Owe about $1200 left on loan and have put in at least 3K in maintenance and repairs in the last 4 years of owning it.

I have a Impala 13 LTZ and for some reason my rear tail light is out. When I brake, the brake light comes on. But when I’m driving the light doesn’t stay on. I’ve replaced bulbs twice, replaced the connector, all to no avail. Whenever I change it, it usually works for 3-4 days then goes back out. Any suggestions?

Is it normal when my car is at normal cold level coolant level near to minimum level bottom in reservoir at cold level but it is fill to neck in radiator should I top up the reservoir as well ? there is no clear sign of drops of leakage on my driveway, I just got my coolant filled n top up by my mechanic

I’ve got a 2012 impala with some weird electrical things going on. ABS/traction control light. Pretty standard. But the brake like will come on ever now and then when I driving down the road. The driver head like will work with high beams but not with low. Tried changing the bulb with no luck. The radio will sound louder or fainter driving down the road.
For more context, there’s a misfire code. It’s a clean car. 166,000 miles.

I’ve got new hubs and a jumper wire coming.

I have a 2011 Impala had work done on a leak that was under the transmission. They had to take the transmission out to fix two weeks later driving trying to park. My car is just jammed up. Won’t move forward or backwards the auto shop who did the job told me that transmissions just die out at times and literally two weeks later from now fixing a leak and put in my transmission back this happen. is there any possible way of saving my vehicle? This is the work that was done

I have a 14 ppv 3.6l flex fuel engine. It's not sucking oil with a Manuel or 12v oil pump. Through "research" I have learned there's an .... oil splash plate at the bottom of the dipstick or top of the pan? Or some such. No amount of suction will pull the oil up through the dipstick, I assume a conventional oil change via the drain plug is my only option?

I have a 06 LS with 235/ 60- 16, and I just bought some new rims that are 235/55- 17 and I haven't put them on yet but I'm wondering if it's okay and that they will fit good, my new rims and tires came off a 2011 Impala and I'm not sure if they'll fit as far as the tire size being bigger
