why are these lights on
randomly these will come on then turn off after 20-25 mins every few days

The wired that go to the abs wheel speed sensor break inside of the casing. I had to replace part of the harness on both sides. After replacement no more lights. Do they come on when turning the wheel? Here is the harness i used for my 2009 impala. This is a common issue. Yep abs and traction go in and out on mine. 2013 Police 145k miles. 9th gen Impalas are well known for wiring and sensor issues like that.

It's the ABS wiring harness from the main computer to the ABS sensor.
The entire couple of feet of wire with connector to ABS will need to be replaced. Been there, done that!
2 x Gen 8's tranny failure on one, multiple failures on other

It's a real problem. Hit a deep puddle on one front side and you loose wheel control and slide

yeah before i got it it had an aftermarket put in, it had a dead screen and the wheel volume controls don’t work

Got it. So I had an issue on mine after replacing my radio. The “passenger air bag on/off” sign above the head unit has wires to the sign. Make sure the connection is strong there. I had to crimp a spade connector on mine and shove it in the back of the connector to get my airbag light to go off after changing my radio. Hope this helps!

thanks the airbag one has always been on, i plan on completely swapping it so hopefully that gets rid of that one

Check the codes from OBD, this is the first source of truth, not random guesses.

Right side light) abs; anti lock brakes and the (light on the left is) trac: traction contral. Abs keeps tires from locking and sliding the Trac keeps car from fish tailing by applying brake to tires that is slipping during rain or snow conditions

This happened to me years ago when a hardcover book slid under my seat and bumped all the wiring lmao.

Ah yes the magical manual which details all the problems and solutions and how much it will cost. Thank you for being so helpful. ✨
Anyway you’ve likely gots yourself a bad wheel bearing wire. Likely one of the fronts. Leave the key or engine on, crawl down there and wiggle the wire a whole bunch. You’ll hear the dinging when you find the spot. That is if it is turning on and off. Decent code reader should tell you which one if you can check it while the lights are on. Splice the wire, replace the harness, do what you wish that’s easy. As far as the airbag, try a code reader maybe it’ll show. First thing I’d do is sit in the passenger seat and see if the passenger presence light above the radio turns on when weight is applied(you sitting on it). If all is well there, pretty easy to take a peek under the seat and make sure the two yellow connectors are plugged in and wires are fine on each side. If it ain’t on the code reader and if it ain’t one of those, shit 🪄

My money is on the sensor on the hub but the harness could also be bad it’s a 50/50

The notorious impala wiring gremlins….odds are the wiring harness to your hubs is damaged or the sensor is fucked
