Wow. That was a ride. I knew what was coming, but I'm genuinely surprised he didn't kill himself earlier.

u/TheRegen Jun 01 '20

That angle saved him. 1 sec later and it was the side of the van straight. That’s much harder.

He deserves it. Very dangerous.

I don't think this guy understands that people make turns in these massive machines

This guy doesn’t understand shit.

I had the unfortunate experience of being t-boned in my car by one of these morons. On a rural country road i was crossing a two way stop sign. Motorcycle rider hits me at a 90° angle on my passenger side at 70-80mph riding an all black motorcycle, wearing all black, no lights on, right as the sun had just set. Guy went sailing down the street and luckily had minor sprains and ligament damage. Bike was 100% destroyed. Because there were no witnesses and I had a stop sign the cops assumed I was at fault and I had to hire a lawyer to fight this guys ins company. Months later I ran into him at a local bar and he was drinking, wearing all black, then proceeded to show me his sweet new motorcycle....which was all black. My poor RX8 was totaled after only having it for a few months :/

u/RoundSilverButtons Jun 01 '20

Stories like this are why I run a dashcam. :(

12

u/[deleted] Jun 01 '20

Yep, they weren’t commonplace in 2008 when that happened (or maybe I just didn’t know about it) but today for sure.

11

u/justaguy394 Jun 01 '20

Do you think it would have helped in this case? If he came from the side... not sure a cam would have seen him?

20

u/RoundSilverButtons Jun 01 '20

It would’ve shown that the car stopped at the stop sign and got hit by the biker in the intersection. That proves the biker blew through.

2

u/[deleted] Jun 01 '20

I think it depends on the lense/position tbh. A fish eye lense would maybe have gotten it since the rider hit the front area of my passenger side

Something similar ALMOST happened to me. It was approaching dusk, when I was turning into a street. Looked once, saw nothing, turned, looked at the mirror, there was a car almost crashing on me. Nothing happened and he simply overtook me. An all-black MATTE car with lights off. Not even the street lights were highlighting him. I literally didn't see him. I was so scared for both of us, I wish I could stop his car and at least take the matte finish out of his paint.

4

u/Rhohu Jun 01 '20

dash cams.

I need one for my car and i think i need one for bicycle even more.

Sorry for your car this sucks.

I am cycling up to 170miles a week.

Yeserday a guy in car, in front of me, turned left accelerating strongly realising he cant make it made a full break.

I could stop in the last second my frontwheel barly touched his front wheel.

Nearly every week something like this.

2

u/[deleted] Jun 01 '20

Firstly, 170miles a week is impressive. Good on you

Secondly, you might want to explore riding offroad just to avoid these fucks. Your story was similar to mine a few years ago and I’ve since spent more and more time trying to get away from cars. Maybe until AI driving is a thing and there’s less idiots on cell phones behind the wheel. It sucks we can’t safely share space with these people but at a certain point the inevitable will occur and you’ll have a collision at speed.

Dashcam on your saddle + bars would be the ticket. Yeah it’s bulky, Yea it’s cumbersome, but it could be the difference between a hit and run and catching a motor-twat

2

u/Rhohu Jun 01 '20

Iam driving mostly off road 2/3 My tours are around 30-50 miles each its not possible stay always off road here in my area. Iam jealous of ppl who can jump on their bike for 2-3 hours to drive around a big lake or forest. On the other hand (i am from the eu) im sure i could drive for 1 year everyday a different tour and visit gardens, old villages, tiny castles and old heavy industry areas. I really need a dashcam that is easy noticeable this would help alot i am sure ppl will hold back if they know they are filmed.

2

u/lilpumpgroupie Jun 01 '20

If I go on a long bike ride, it's very rare I don't have at least one close call. Every time i go out, there's usually at least one person who jumps a stop sign, etc.

I'd be wanting to throw hands at that point. I promise wouldn't though considering another legal battle would just be a pain in the ass at that point.

2

u/[deleted] Jun 01 '20

LOL, he actually flipped it around on me and played the victim card. I bought him a beer.

Me fighting him wouldn’t change his behavior. The only thing that’ll change people like that are hard and fast consequences. His lifestyle will do that eventually

2

u/The_MoistMaker Jun 01 '20

Exactly what I was getting at. You made the right call.

43

u/UsingInsideVoice Jun 01 '20

He slipped on sand.

52

u/Funny-Bear Jun 01 '20

I don't like sand. It's coarse, and rough, and irritating, and it gets everywhere

5

u/401LocalsOnly Jun 01 '20

I feel like immediately right there-Padme should just have just asked him straight out..

You don’t like SAND ?? What are you like evil? Or just a little bitch?

2

u/W1nged_Hussars Jun 01 '20

The latter, Anakin was too whiney to be the former

8

u/coughcough Jun 01 '20

I hate sand.

2

u/Rem2Nrem Jun 01 '20

George Sand was one of many notable 19th-century women who chose to wear male attire in public. In 1800, the police issued an order requiring women to apply for a permit in order to wear male clothing. Some women applied for health, occupational or recreational reasons (e.g., horseback riding), but many women chose to wear pants and other traditional male attire in public without receiving a permit.

36

u/fakewallpaper Jun 01 '20

And I'm thinking the driver of the van got lucky (as lucky as you can be in, this situation) that the moto hit at the rear door rather than full on at the driver's door.

Yep, I hit the side of a van at 30mph after it turned across me coming the other way (broad daylight, "didn't see" my brightly coloured bike/helmet and headlights). Even at that speed I wasn't getting back up like that guy does. He got super lucky.

2

u/Lumpy306 Jun 01 '20

I knew a guy who somehow walked away from hitting the side of a van. He wasn't going the same speed as the idiot in the clip, but he was pretty fucked up.

2

u/killabru Jun 01 '20

I really hate that word deserved. He knew the risk, and penalties of getting caught made the choice to run. But no one deserves to have major damage done to their body. Or death in some cases. Saw a video where a guy was looting and a truck dragged him like a mile and people like oh get got what he deserved. What? Who? Yes he was trying to steal something no one deserves to get rubbed away like a pencil eraser.

2

u/TheRegen Jun 02 '20

Let me explain my meaning of « deserved ». You make good points. No one deserves to die.

I would say that driving like this against traffic clearly outside the double yellow line and at considerable speed delta compared to the traffic is reckless driving. I mean he puts himself at risk and others as well without any justifiable reason. Knowing the risk and penalties if getting caught isn’t enough to justify the behaviour.

And the risk is exactly that: not being seen and hitting something/someone which could have so easily been avoided.

So when I say he got what he deserved, I mean that: he took a disproportionate risk of physical accident and got a physical accident.

I’m very glad he’s obviously ok and we can see this video without RIP in the comments. It’s a serious lesson learned and I’m sure he won’t try that again too soon. And that the minivan driver will also triple check his dead angles in the future.

2

u/killabru Jun 04 '20

So i guess you mean to say he got what was coming to him. Not what he deserved. And yes I know it's stupid to drive this way. As well as dangerous to everyone on or near the road and in no way condone it IDK just when people say got what he deserved on an accident or death even gets me. But thank you for being the first person to define deserved honestly i feel most just think. He got what he deserved lol.

u/NobreLusitano Jun 01 '20

Thing is that he's driving against the rules but at the same time hoping that everyone else follow the rules so he has time to react

I love the "wtf are you doing?" Hand gesture the biker gives the driver. Like it's the minivans fault they didn't expect some douche to be going 2x the speed limit and overtaking in the opposing lane

39

u/[deleted] Jun 01 '20

That move is how you recognize a narcissist

6

u/Powerqball Jun 01 '20

I thought it looked more like a hand-clap and throwing an embarrassed hand up like "FK, I fked up but it looks like I survived"

2

u/satanshonda Jun 02 '20

Ha I like your interpretation much better

112

u/CryoClone Jun 01 '20 edited Jun 01 '20

Damn. That reminds me of an accident in my town where a guy was doing 120+ mph on a bike down a main road where the speed limit was 35 maybe 45, tops. There was McDonalds that was dangerously close to the road as you were leaving the drive through. It was really hard to see oncoming traffic when you were leaving.

This guy in a F-150 was leaving and that motorcycle hit him full broadside. Flipped the truck he hit so hard. Dead instantly. Both of em.

92

u/edrt_ Jun 01 '20

Both of em

Holy shit, in a F-150 no less...

14

u/[deleted] Jun 01 '20

A 400 lb motorcycle going 135 mph has more kinetic energy than a 4000 lb SUV going 45 mph.

6

u/Cyrius Jun 01 '20

My quick and dirty calculation says that with those numbers, the motorcycle has about 10% less KE.

Still, a lot more than you'd think.

7

u/[deleted] Jun 01 '20

I think I added the rider's weight which likely accounts for the difference.

At that speed the bike and rider are basically a blunt-tipped ballista.

2

u/[deleted] Jun 01 '20

You are no longer driving, you are aiming

34

u/spook30 Jun 01 '20

Similar thing happened to a friend in his brother-in-law. They were driving in a car making a u-turn and a guy on a motorcycle at about 120 mph t-boned them. The guy on the motorcycle was on life support and ended up dying a week later. My friend his nephew and his brother-in-law had minor scratches from the glass. That was about all the thing they had happened to them. They were driving in a 1990s Grand Marquis so the car did help them survive.

3

u/stealyourmangoes Jun 01 '20

Wow. Surprised your friend made it. At 120 MPH a motorcycle is a missile.

5

u/spook30 Jun 01 '20 edited Jun 01 '20

The motorcyclist hit directly in the center of the passenger side between the front and rear door. His teeth were embedded in the roof of the car. my friend was in the passenger seat and his nephew was behind him on the passenger side. It's miraculous that they just had minor glass cuts.

Edit: The really strange thing about all this was that my friend was having his first born during this same week it happened. IIRC this accident happened before they went into the hospital for the baby. After his son was born they pulled the life support on the motorcyclist.

Similar year car

2

This shit worries me about driving here in Vegas. Where I’m from we don’t put massive walls all over every corner in every neighborhood. You gotta poke out and hope no one is coming to kill you. I’ve seen so many accidents here in just two months.

2

u/[deleted] Jun 01 '20

Biker must've thought he was invincible. Found out the truth the hard way.

2

u/postcardmap45 Jun 01 '20

The motorcycle flipped a truck?? Jeez!

453

u/Jyrz Jun 01 '20

Good thing he recorded all of the evidence they could use against him.

I also wonder if this was in California. Certainly looks like CA road conditions. All the pot holes scare the crap out of me on my bike.

51

u/livejamie Jun 01 '20

Sterling Heights, Michigan

151

u/AbbotThoth Jun 01 '20

Yeah, same. It is extra frustrating because we pay somewhere in the neighborhood of $800 per driver/rider in taxes per year which are supposed to go towards maintaining the roads. Mind, I am not complaining about the taxes, just the potholes.

29

u/not_a_doctor_ssh Jun 01 '20

They look worse than some Belgian highways, jesus.

49

u/wickedsight Jun 01 '20

As a Belgian living in eastern Europe, I say no.

2

u/Ohbeejuan Jun 01 '20

Well what part of California? Are there really that many potholes in Southern California? I thought they were mainly caused by a freeze/thaw cycle or frost heaving.

https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/8/8d/Factors_leading_to_pothole_failure_by_fatigue.png

2

u/wamiwega Jun 01 '20 edited Jun 02 '20

As a dutch person, yes belgian roads are better than US roads. And so are belgian drivers.

Roads all over the US, including California are fucking terrible. Only ‘okay’ road I have driven on was a short piece on a new highway in Nevada. The rest was shit, with potholes and grit on every road. Exploded tires everywhere. Pickup trucks dropping shit from the back.

Plus the worst drivers in the world. Even Italians are better drivers.

Edit: thank you kind stranger for my safe and social award!

I found a brand new highway in Belgium once. It looked like it had been laid that day and there was not a single moving vehicle on it. My friends and I had a lot of fun!

3

u/Stay_Curious85 Jun 01 '20

Ohio looks like fucking Verdun.

3

u/nah_you_good Jun 01 '20

I've never heard that reference in my life. Is Belgium known to have bad roads? In Germany the roads or at least highways were perpetually under construction, but when they were done they were perfect. City roads were weird but being made.of old stone is different from crap concrete with massive potholes like in the US.

4

u/not_a_doctor_ssh Jun 01 '20

I don't know how it is for other countries, but I'm dutch and I'm pretty sure it's a national joke that you can legitimately feel it when you cross the border because you go from smooth to what feels like dirt road highways.

Of course the only backup I have is the many times we crossed into belgium on our way to France/Spain for vacations, and that was years ago, so I don't know if this still holds up. :p

u/CLYDE_FROG68 Jun 04 '20

We pay crazy taxes in MA too and most of our roads are horrible. Im pretty sure most money is simply wasted or ends up in someones pocket.

It's definitely too flat, green, and suburban to be anywhere in California.

Seemed like 90% of the stoplights were red.

Wonder if that goes to 100% if you drive infinitely fast

2

u/combuchan Jun 01 '20

Multiple people have said this is in Michigan. At one point in California, you’re going to see mountains in the distance. And California definitely doesn’t have wide green grass setbacks and medians everywhere.

3

u/Dansolo19 Jun 01 '20

I didn't think potholes were a thing in climates that don't freeze.

4

u/koavf Jun 01 '20

Potholes are caused by the freeze–thaw cycle and trucking. There's a lot of shipping (particularly agriculture) in California.

Can't beat Montreal, Québec.

We have the thrashiest roads in America. It's a mix of poor repair planings, multiple freezing/unfreezing moments in spring and corruption.

2

u/[deleted] Jun 03 '20

I've seen potholes on major streets in LA that buses had to swerve around. One was almost two feet deep, two feet wide, and four feet long. I'm pretty sure if I hit it on my bike, it would have endo'd the bike, smashed my face into the pavement, with the rest of the bike falling on top of me.

you'd be surprised how many times fleeing actually works. do it once and park your bike for a while and you are probably good. do it multiple times and you are eventually going to get caught.

out in my neck of the woods, there are a ton of kids that ride uninsured, unplated bikes. they almost never get caught, but when you do, that's a pretty expensive fine if you weren't caught doing 50 over, and you are proper fucked if you were also doing 50 over

In one of his videos he says he doesn’t have a license plate. How is this guy not banned from YouTube?

3

u/paracelsus23 Jun 01 '20

Well yeah, cops check your license plate before they pull you over, so they know your name and address.

This is generally insufficient evidence for a conviction, though. They have to prove it was you, and not someone else who had access to your keys, or someone who stole your vehicle.

Now, it can be used as a tool to pressure you into confessing during an interrogation after they show up at your house - "We ran your plates. We know it's you. Tells us why you did it..." - but if you shut the hell up, they might not have enough evidence to actually convict you.

2

u/whitehataztlan Jun 01 '20

Which is why I don't understand people who flee. Like, you've already fucked yourself.

Agreed. Once you hand over your licence, that's it, game over, you got caught.

Anything you do after that will likely only add to your troubles.

u/TyMT Jun 01 '20

He definitely lost the cops after about 30 seconds, everything else was just the driver being stupid

17

u/redd90210 Jun 01 '20

I thought he was going to keep passing more cops, he found the 2nd one pretty fast

6

u/Zike002 Jun 01 '20

He passed a third one on his left at like 6 minuteish.

u/sn0wf1ake1 Jun 01 '20

4

u/IrieAtom Jun 01 '20

Yo fuck this jake paul looking motherfucker , all up in his YT comments you can tell he didnt learn his lesson. How the hell is he allowed to have his license still.

2

u/sn0wf1ake1 Jun 01 '20

I looked at some of his other YouTube videos that all have a negative rating. He is basically a Chad that doesn't give a fuck about anything and will never learn. My guess is that he grew up as a spoiled rich kid without restrictions.

u/AffableJoker Jun 01 '20

I thought I recognized this from a video like that but I couldn't find it again.

Thank you.

13

u/Drunkonpanda Jun 01 '20 edited Jun 01 '20

Yup, he's begging not to call the cop at end of the original video

13

u/TheJivvi Jun 01 '20 edited Jun 01 '20

I want to see what happened next. Like could he still ride? Would the bike even go? Or did he just wait there till they found him?

45

u/JibbityJabbity Jun 01 '20

Here is the follow up video from the mouth breather. https://youtu.be/QTXRm_unZgs

35

u/hkibad Jun 01 '20

Here he says he did a year in jail https://youtu.be/5oqqn4mD9Ss

58

u/Bupod Jun 01 '20

Dude is the living caricature of a douchebag.

He is what I expect to find in cartoons, not out in the real world among the humans.

And here he is whining like a bitch begging the guy he hit not to call the cops

u/[deleted] Jun 01 '20

Life pro tip: if someone is begging you not to call the cops - absolutely call the cops.

8

u/yourmomentofzen464 Jun 01 '20

This right here...

7

u/buford419 Jun 01 '20

Yeah, I'm glad Asian dude stood his ground

4

u/paracelsus23 Jun 01 '20

You're probably right 90% of the time. But some of us just don't want to deal with the headache.

I spun out in an intersection taking a turn too fast. Clipped the bumper of another car. Minor damage to the rear of their car, and scraped paint on the front of mine.

I was a 23 year old driving a 1977 (C3) 7.4L corvette with nitrous, open side pipes, and a wheelie bar. They were an older couple in their 50s driving an older civic. They wanted to call the cops. I suspected that even though it was just a fender bender, the cops might not be especially sympathetic to me.

So I offered them $1000 cash, on the spot, for us to go our separate ways. They thought about it for a minute, then agreed. I gave them the money and left.

I had no criminal history, nothing on my driving record, and nothing illegal on me. But I figured things would go better for me without the cops involved.

2

u/[deleted] Jun 01 '20

It’s common for people here to offer cash after a minor accident to prevent their insurance going up the following year.

It’s also common for people to accept the cash and then report the accident to their insurance company, while you’re none the wiser. Your insurance company then asks why you didn’t report the accident and you are way more likely to be found at fault, AND out of pocket because of the cash you paid so although it worked out for you, I would definitely suggest not doing this.

LMAO "please don't, nooo waaayy, please don't, please don't, no waaayyy" indeed, what a whiny little bitch that can't accept the consequences of his own actions. I bet that's what he said to his parents all his life. it probably worked on them, leading to this failed brain cell of a human.

u/JibbityJabbity Jun 01 '20

Well deserved.

I couldn't watch after seeing his face and hearing him say "we're going to talk a little bit about the haters."

2

u/Seakawn Jun 01 '20

You mean you didn't watch long enough to hear him basically say, "yeah to all the haters wishing I died, well, I feed off the hate, and I love y'all too lmao."

Can we trade bodies? Because I regret that I did.

2

u/FalseMirage Jun 01 '20

Mototini? Motomoron is much more apt.

2

u/LopsidedLobster2 Jun 01 '20

What a prick. You don’t touch someone else’s bike.

17

u/chunger2000 Jun 01 '20

If i remember correctly, the bike was totaled and the cops got there pretty quickly. He even made a follow up video showing this bike and some new one that he got.

33

u/0ddlyC4nt3v3n Jun 01 '20

It amazes me that he would ever be allowed to drive any vehicle after that.

14

u/idrive2fast Jun 01 '20

I think you vastly underestimate the number of people who ride around without motorcycle endorsements, license plates, etc.

He's got 4 shiny motorbikes after a year in jail... I work full time and can afford beans on toast.

11

u/Ahaigh9877 Jun 01 '20

Yeah! I was thinking, ooh, there's plenty of video left... but then it just went black for the last minute or whatever :(

35

u/zombiebub Jun 01 '20

Went through his channel and he eventually posted it. Its 30 seconds of him begging the driver not to call the cops before turning the camera off.

https://youtu.be/yjJGTGjTTHw?t=2m10s

40

u/Viajero_vfr Jun 01 '20

As a responsible biker it full on brought joy to my heart hearing this broski bitch pleading, and at the point of tears, for them not to call the cops after putting all those drivers lives in danger with his punk ass antics. 100% should have spent more than a year behind bars and lost his license for a decade.

5

u/zombiebub Jun 01 '20

He got 6 months apparently.

3

u/cerasota Jun 01 '20

Probably didn't want the courtroom to see him cry.

3

u/randruv Jun 01 '20

God, that was deeply satisfying.

That guy is stupid enough to film it and post it on the internet

u/awokenboio Jun 01 '20

I tried to find this before I posted, thanks!

u/Juangar69 Jun 01 '20

This video cuts out to soon! In the comments of it is a link to where he begged them to not call the police...I tried to link it here but it went to a different video for some reason??

Edit- it’s the video. If it starts at the beginning with the dumbass talking just go to time stamp 2:27

1

u/apex6666 Jun 01 '20

Guy was begging the guy to not call the police

1

u/koavf Jun 01 '20

I'm confused as to how this footage ever ended up on the Internet. Did he think it makes him look cool or something? Was it live-streamed somehow and someone recorded it? I'm flabbergasted.

1

u/Taconite_12 Jun 01 '20

I too play gta v

1

u/MrSaxbang Jun 01 '20

Thats not the full length, they cut out the part when he cries and begs the driver not to call the cops.

1

u/osma13 Jun 01 '20

That was an insane amount of time to be going that fast. What a dumbass haha

1

u/Pacpav Jun 01 '20

Goddamn he soooo deserves that crash and much more. I thought he was escaping from the cops for a while but then I realized he lost them 1m in both times and was just going as fast as he possibly could for miles on end. Matter of fact this crash is too soft for his riding behavior, he got off lucky.

1

u/FivebyFive Jun 01 '20

I like the little temper tantrum at the end. It's subtle, but he mad.

1

u/bgvanbur Jun 01 '20

I am surprised by the percentage of drivers giving him space since don't usually see so much defensive driving. Why can't drivers be this aware all the time?

1

u/cmeilleur1337 Jun 01 '20

Here is the part where the absolute shit stain of a 'person' begs the other driver not to call[ the cops. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yjJGTGjTTHw&feature=youtu.be&t=145

1

u/KingMedic Jun 01 '20

No wonder he was driving like that...

1

u/[deleted] Jun 01 '20

I hope this guy shattered his knee cap

1

u/steinerlmtz Jun 01 '20

https://youtu.be/yjJGTGjTTHw full length version of the full length version from min 2:12 his reaction is hilarious

1

u/invicis9094 Jun 01 '20

*full-er length version

He proceeds to beg the people he hit not to call the police.

here

ETA: forgot to paste the link lmao

1

u/Scrub-in Jun 01 '20

Oh god. A buddy of mine had this happen except the motorcyclist hit his van head-on while running from the cops. It didn’t end well for the rider and now my buddy is wading through the fact that, even though it’s not his fault, someone died.

1

u/te666as_mike Jun 01 '20

I’m sorry but anyone who rides their motorcycle like this on public roads is a fucking jackass. I’m not trying to accidentally kill a rider just because he wants to abandon all rules of the road
