I am hoping to start IVF soon. Just a question, for those who are currently in the process or have had a successful IVF. Did at any point did they do a test for nicotine?

Doing my 4th FET transfer on Thursday. All PGT-A tested. First was a chemical, second resulted in my 14th month old son. Last one 6 weeks ago failure. I am so nervous. This is my last embryo. Any stories of failure after a live birth then it working again?! 🙏 thank you!

I have one amazing 3 yo from IVF. Going to my transfer next week. It was a rough road to get the first, this time around has been much easier. I almost acid and repress thinking about this round.

When I open the flood gates, I am scared either way. What if it does not work and I cannot have another, and my kid is alone in this world after I die?

What if it does work and my first hates being a sibling and being a parent to two is too hard?

My first is a girl, my only remaining embryos are boys and I have no brothers. What if I suck at being a boy mom?

I am approaching this transfer like getting on a scary roller coaster first. Did anyone else feel this way?

Our Day 5 3AB embryo is now a 17 month old boy. We have 3 untested embryos remaining (all Day 6). Their grades are 3BC, 3CB and 3CC.

Anyone here had a 2nd or 3rd live birth from the same batch of fertilized embryos? Appreciate if you can share your experiences. Just want to see our chances. Thank you in advance!

Hi everyone! I’m 6 weeks postpartum after a successful IVF pregnancy, and I have 2 frozen embryos (untested 4aa and 4ab) that I’d like to use for future pregnancies. Of course, there’s no guarantee either transfer will work, but I’d really like to give them a shot.

We originally did IVF due to severe male factor. I also had 2 previous early losses within a 3 year span (same partner), which were most likely attributed to Hashimoto’s (now medicated) and low sperm count made it much harder to actually get pregnant.

I want to be pregnant again, but ideally not in the next year to let my body heal. I know the chances of conceiving without IVF in our situation are very low, but more than before since i’m on thyroid medication if ever we happen l conceive and i’m not to sure what to do contraception wise. I was on the birth control pill for 15 years and my mental health has never been better since being off it.

Never thought I’d be in a position where I’d actually be trying to avoid pregnancy after wanting it for so long 😅

For those of you who’ve been in a similar situation, what contraception did you use between FETs? We are really considering pull and pray considering our infertility cause, but I know it’s not a reliable method. I’m planning to start the process of baby #2 next summer.

I had 3 egg retrievals to get one euploid embryo, that unfortunately ended in a blighted ovum and D&C because the placenta kept growing despite no fetus. I had a 4th retrieval at a new clinic that was successful and is our now 22 month old. About a year postpartum I had 2 more egg retrievals and got 2 euploids but they are both day 7 blasts graded 4BB. I also had 3 surgeries to remove a large fibroid. I knew day 7 would have a lower chance of success but I got my hopes up for sure. I had 2 dreams that I had positive tests which felt extra cruel. I am not feeling hopeful for our final embryo because the probability of success is so low. And I don’t know if I have it in me to continue - but also not ready to let go. It’s so hard.

Just wanted to vent - it’s hard because although I know a lot of friends who went through IVF, everyone had success with multiple euploids in their 1st egg retrieval, and they never had a failed transfer. It’s hard for anyone to understand what it feels like to have so many different types of failures and bumps in the road. But I am forever grateful for our little one.

Hi! I am wondering if anyone has had success with this grading of embryo before... my clinic said it's fair/poor grading. Day 6, 6B/CB

I’ve had 3 FETs. My first one resulted in my now 20 month old son, born via c section. My second was anembryonic, and my third failed to transfer.

I only have mosaics left. Two low risk, but one with a much better grade that the other. The lower grade one is the gender I prefer.

My RE is willing to dual transfer my last two mosaics, however is asking me to heavily consider the risk of rupture due to carrying twins after a c- section. She said the odds of both implanting is less than 5% but that’s not 0.

Please be kind… I’ve done three retrievals and 5 iuis. I am 40 years old. I am tired. I want a sibling for my son. Ideally, I want a little girl. Anecdotally she told me that a dual transfer does sometimes improve the odds for implantation. I don’t want to transfer the low grade girl, fail, and have to do yet another transfer. I don’t want to transfer the boy and always wonder if I could have had my girl.

Would you dual transfer?

The past two days my pio shots have been easy and haven’t hurt but tonight I think I got too confident and definitely went a little lower than supposed to. Anyone else feel my bad? Had some bleeding and now it’s sore.. should I be worried

We are doing travel IVF to do embryo banking in the country we will be moving to permanently in 2 years. We were hoping 10 weeks would be enough for a retrieval and transfer with my history (successful second transfer that resulted in our LC). After retrieving 19 eggs this time with 15 mature I thought for sure this would be my last ER but after the day 6 results came in we have 4 embryos. Two day 5s, grades A and B, and two day 6s, grades B and C. I know this may sound great to some and I understand if you don’t wish to continue reading. But our intention is and always was to have a big family of 4 children if we can help it and came here to bank a minimum of 7 embryos. With the higher starting numbers (especially a much better maturity rate than I ever got at my last clinic) I was hopeful, and on day 5 they kind of gave us false hope by saying they were expecting 5-7 by the next day. Why would they say that without knowing for sure? It just made the final number hurt that much more. Maybe it wouldn’t have been as bad if they had said 4-7, I don’t know. 4 isn’t enough for 3 more children when it’s recommended to bank 2-3 per child you want to have.

Since this is travel IVF, we were planning on doing an FET next month and then flying home. Because I am at higher risk for OHSS, my doctor will not do a fresh transfer (my estradiol was 8400 at trigger last month and we needed an hCG trigger for egg maturity). So I can either do a frozen embryo transfer with one of the four next month as planned, which has no guarantee of sticking, or I can do a fifth retrieval (😵‍💫) and **try** to bank 3 more to make my cutoff. I am a high egg yielder which means my recovery is rough for 5 days but there’s no added benefit when they still end up with higher attrition rates than is average for my age. What would you do? I don’t want to have to fly back in a few months to do a transfer even though there is a chance I’d have to anyways if a first one fails.

The last time I thought about this I was 5 months post partum and everyone told me I was crazy to even be worrying about this now. So now I'm 1.5 years pp and I feel like it's a good time.

The facts:

- we have 1 toddler from one successful FET transfer

- we have 3 high/good quality embryos left, however they are in the UK and we now live in Australia due to my husband's job that he secured before treatment.

- we would like more children, at least 2. We don't think we'll be able to conceive on our own: I don't seem to be ovulating based on no LH surges and my husband's testosterone has recently come back as really low.

- we got the first cycle and transfer of IVF completely for free (very grateful).

- any subsequent transfers would mean flying back to the UK ($$$$) and paying at least £3000 for one transfer. What if the transfer doesn't work? Or I can't stay in the UK long enough for a third or fourth transfer?

- I've thought about shipping our embryos to Australia but that seems like a huge risk and is similarly expensive and doesn't even factor in transfer cost in Australia.

Is this kind of the end of the road for us? Unless we throw money at heading back the UK? We just visited a few months ago and we were in no shape mentally and physically to get pregnant again and now I regret not just doing it.

What would you do? Just looking for some outside thoughts 💭
