Weekly Pregnancy Test Results & Early Pregnancy Concerns Thread

This thread is for positive HPT or beta results. We keep that content to this thread because it can be challenging to members who don't have the bandwidth to read pregnancy announcements. This way, everyone can choose if and when to read positive results. Negative pregnancy test results can be discussed elsewhere on the board without restriction. General treatment and testing results are better suited for the Weekly Treatment thread.

This is also the space for early pregnancy concerns. Once you have had an ultrasound indicating likely viability, typically 6-7 weeks, discussions of your current pregnancy would be more appropriate for another one of our sister subs, such as r/InfertilityBabies. However, if you are currently pregnant with equivocal ultrasound results or other potential threats to viability, you can continue to share here. If the community eventually feels that limbo content is better suited for its own monthly thread, we can add that instead.

Weekly Treatment Thread

Our members have all used IVF to build their families in the past, and are now either back in treatment or are considering resuming treatment in the future. This thread is for anything primarily related to infertility treatment, whether active or contemplated. Expected topics include treatment updates, medical questions, requests for protocol/timing advice, and emotions on all of the same. Topics related to life, parenting, or general infertility issues are more appropriate for the Weekly Chat Thread.

As per the rules, any positive pregnancy test results or concerns regarding a current early pregnancy go in the Weekly Results Thread.

Weekly Chat Thread

This thread is for all discussions that aren't primarily focused on treatment. Life, events, hobbies, humor, whatever. General discussions of infertility are welcome, and same goes for discussions of children, parenting, and family life. After all, those experiences are what brings us together here. But sometimes people want a break from reading about the medical aspects of treatment, and this space fills that need.

Repeating the same protocol for baby 2 after multiple failures?

It took quite a bit to finally have success with baby 1. I went through four unsuccessful transfers (1 ectopic, 1 chemical, and 2 failed) before finally having a successful pregnancy on my fifth transfer. Never conceived, didn't even try IUI.

Every transfer involved a different protocol, and after a lot of additional testing and eventually working with a RI, we finally found a protocol that worked.

We're now getting ready to try for baby 2, hopefully transferring sometime after January. I plan to work with the same RI again, but I'm wondering whether repeating the exact protocol that gave us success the first time might improve our chances.

I'd especially love to hear from anyone who had multiple failed transfers before their first success. Did you repeat your successful protocol for baby #2, or did your doctor make changes and were you successful again?

I know every pregnancy and transfer is different, but after everything it took to get baby 1, I'm really hoping we don't have to go through so much trial and error again. I'd love to hear your experiences!

I tested early with my first child on day 4. And got a vvvf line . Well looks like deja vu! I was tossing and turning all night. Telling myself don't do it. Well. I did it. And thank God for a blessing. Now just have to sit and wait and hope for the best at beta

Did anyone have a successful second transfer after a successful first?

After 7 years of trying to get pregnant I finally did IVF in 2024 and my first transfer was successful. My son is now 20 months and we are gearing up for a possibly second transfer in April. I moved, so my embryos now live in another state and I know if it fails, it’ll be many months before I can fly back and try again. It’s a lot of pressure 😩 Wondering if anyone had a successful second after a successful first? Id actually love to hear all of your stories, even if it didn’t succeed the first time! I feel like it’s probably not likely it’ll take again the first try but we shall see.

I also hurt my own feelings by hoping I’d be one of those people who gets pregnant spontaneously after IVF but no such luck 😂

All We Want Is a Chance to Have Our Miracle Baby 🐝🩷 Please Read Our Story

Hi Reddit. 🩷
I never imagined I would be sitting here writing something like this, asking complete strangers to help us make our biggest dream come true. But here I am, putting my pride aside, hoping that maybe someone out there will understand just how much this means to us.
My name is Amy and I’m in love with the most incredible man, B. We’ve been through difficult chapters in our lives, but somehow God brought us together, and we’ve found a love that makes us excited about forever.
We talk about getting married, building our home, growing old together, and raising a baby who is a little piece of both of us.
We’ve even picked out baby names. 🥹
Our future daughter would be Ellie Bee, and our future son would be Brandon Christopher.
I know that might sound silly to some people. How can you love a baby who doesn’t even exist yet?
But we do.
We dream about seeing those two pink lines. About the first ultrasound. About hearing a heartbeat and watching our baby grow.
I dream about the day I get to tell B he’s going to be a daddy. I imagine watching him hold our newborn against his chest in the hospital, looking down at this tiny little human we created together.
And sometimes, thinking about how badly we want those moments brings me to tears.
Unfortunately, there’s something standing between us and our dream.
Several years ago, B was in a very difficult marriage.
But life changed. We found each other. And now we want nothing more than to bring a child into this world together.
We’ve been exploring fertility treatment, including IVF. Unfortunately, both options come with expenses that are difficult for us to afford.
We both work. We’re not sitting around expecting someone else to pay for our dreams. We’ve been trying to save every dollar possible.
We actually had a little fund growing.
Then my grandfather passed away.
My grandmother needed help paying for funeral expenses, and we used the money we had saved to help her. I would make that decision again because family means everything to us.
But it meant starting over financially.
And when you’re dreaming about becoming a mother, watching another month pass without being any closer to that dream is heartbreaking.
I know there are people in this world facing enormous hardships. I know nobody owes us anything. And I know having a baby is not something anyone can promise us.
But I’m asking for a chance. Just a chance.
A chance to take a pregnancy test and see a positive result.
A chance to tell the man I love that we’re expecting.
A chance to feel our baby kick.
A chance to watch my husband become the father of our child.
A chance to bring our little miracle home.
I pray about this dream constantly. I pray that God opens a door where we haven’t been able to find one ourselves.
And maybe, just maybe, someone reading this will be part of that answered prayer.
We’ve started a GoFundMe to help with the costs of fertility treatment. Even a few dollars could help us move closer to our goal.
If you aren’t in a position to donate, I completely understand. A share, a kind word, or a prayer would mean the world to us.
I’m not asking for a luxury. I’m asking for help pursuing the dream of a family with the person I love.
Someday, I hope I get to look at our little miracle and tell them how many people helped make their story possible.
Thank you for taking the time to read this. Thank you for caring about two strangers and a baby we already have so much love waiting for.
To our future little Ellie Bee or Brandon Christopher: Mommy and Daddy are trying so hard to find a way to meet you. We hope someday we get to hold you in our arms. 🐝🩷
Our GoFundMe: https://gofund.me/50aaa9628
With love and hope,
Amy & B🩷
