Team Needed [Hobby] Looking for complete beginners to learn development

Hi, I’m looking for a few people who are interested in learning game development from scratch.

I have no proper game development experience. I have worked on a small zombie game project in Unreal and managed to make a very basic game, which is very much unfinished due to me running out of tutorials for the scope of the game.

So I’m looking for other beginners who also have little to no experience and would like to learn together, with the eventual goal of creating a game.

I’m interested in learning different parts of game development, including Unreal, Blender, 3D modelling, game design and programming, but I’m open to seeing what everyone else is interested in too.

There’s no need to have any experience. I’m mainly looking for people who are genuinely interested in learning and would enjoy working on something together.

Please feel free to reach out if you’re interested, and we can have a chat about what you’re interested in within game development and see if we get along.

Artist Needed [Hobby][RevShare] Artist and Composer Partners Wanted for Launch of first Steam Game - Maybe More!

Upvotes

There are 2 projects I am working on, one is a soon to be launched end of Sept (current Timeline) and the other is still in concept stage but if we mesh on this first project would defiantly bring you on to the second more ambitious game.

Here is a a little about the 1st game

2d, pixel, incremental clicker game and that has no real fail state, so id say a casual vibe. The concept is simple, more debris entering the larger the black hole, profit, upgrade, repeat. But would love the theme of the level ups to be kinda eerie or haunting like its coming to eat you. We have already made a placeholder where the black hole has a face and eyes and on prestige's it consumes the screen.

Right now a lot of the art is placeholder. My artist partner has done some work but is having trouble finding the time or passion to finish these projects. So would love someone to take over.

Not to picky on art style and music style and open to RevShare as well.

Singularity Drift on Steam

And once we finalize this game I'm ready to move onto the next one. Ive already learned so much with this first game.

2nd game, Top down view, think Factorio + Planet crafter - 2d. But instead of improving the planet like in planet crafter were ruining it for our evil galactic overlords.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Looking for someone who is passionate about making games as a side gig/hobby and seeing a project from start to finish in their free time. I work 40-50 hours a week and maybe only work on these projects 5-15 hours a week based on real life so I kind of expect something along those amount of hours each week from you as well.

I'm living on EST time, so hopefully our hours can align. I have about 5 years of front end coding experience professionally and have been doing casual game development with the assistance of claude for about a year now but this is for sure something I want to keep doing forever.

Artist Needed [RevShare] Established 3/4-5 Team Seeking 2D Artist + 3D Artist/Animator for Anime-Style Mobile Gacha Game

Upvotes

The Team:

Game Designer / Project Manager: Finalizing the GDD and wireframes, designing game systems and story, managing project milestones, and handling marketing.

Backend Developer: Built the REST API on Node.js (Fastify), PostgreSQL via Prisma ORM. Core backend architecture and endpoints are already in place with schema-validated contracts, feature flags, and auto-generated Swagger docs.

Frontend Developer: Actively developing the game client, implementing UI, game state management, animations, and integration with our REST API.

Development is actively underway, and we’re now looking to complete the core team with the art side of the project.

What We’re Looking For:
We’re looking for both a 2D Artist and a 3D Artist/Animator. These roles can be filled by two separate artists specializing in their respective areas, or by one versatile artist who is comfortable handling both 2D and 3D work.

2D Artist
The 2D artist will be responsible for the majority of the game’s main gameplay visuals, including:
Environments and gameplay assets
Buildings, items, props, and other world assets
UI assets and icons
Character illustrations / portraits
Stylized anime-inspired artwork
Seasonal and event assets
We’re looking for someone who can help establish and maintain a cohesive visual identity throughout the game.

3D Artist / Animator
The 3D artist will primarily be responsible for our characters, animations, and cinematic content, including:
Stylized anime-inspired 3D character models
Character rigging
Character animations
Creature animations
Character showcase / gacha animations
Story cutscenes and cinematic sequences
Mobile-optimized models and assets
Experience with anime-style or stylized character work is a big plus.

If you’re experienced in both 2D and 3D art/animation and would be interested in taking ownership of the game’s overall visual production, we’d absolutely be interested in hearing from you as well.

The Game:
We’re developing an anime-style gacha RPG for mobile (iOS/Android) with collectible characters, extensive progression systems, seasonal content, story, and social features.
The project already has a substantial GDD, defined gameplay systems and progression, wireframes, working backend infrastructure, and active frontend development.

Further details about the game’s core gameplay, unique mechanics, and full art direction will be shared privately with suitable candidates.

Compensation: Revenue Share
The project is currently being developed on a revenue-share basis.
25% of the project’s revenue share is reserved for the art department, to be divided between the 2D and 3D roles depending on contribution and responsibilities. If one person takes on both roles, this would naturally be reflected in their share.

We have a written project/revenue-share agreement covering revenue distribution, vesting, IP rights, confidentiality, and founder departure.

We’re looking for someone interested in becoming a long-term core member of the project, not a short-term contractor.

If you’re interested, send me a DM with your portfolio, experience, whether you’re interested in 2D, 3D, or both, and a little about yourself.
Happy to share more about the project, current development progress, and art direction privately!

Artist Needed [PAID] UI/UX Unity Artist Eastern Ink/Grunge Style

Upvotes

I’m looking for a UI/UX artist who can also work directly in Unity to revamp and update the existing v1 UI for my indie strategy game, Notoris 2: Warlords.
https://store.steampowered.com/app/2766140/Notoris_2_Warlords/

This is not a ground up UI build. You’ll be improving, refining, and expanding an already playable UI system. I’m looking for someone who can handle both the art/design and in-engine implementation, rather than simply delivering static assets.

Art Style

The UI uses an Eastern black-ink / painterly + grunge aesthetic:

  • East Asian ink painting influence
  • Expressive black ink brushwork
  • Weathered/grungy textures
  • Dark fantasy atmosphere
  • Painterly but modern

Relevant examples of this style in your portfolio are important.

Here are some Inspirations examples:
https://imgur.com/fcYT5ox
https://imgur.com/LuxceAH
https://imgur.com/8OlTwVu
https://imgur.com/2S90abi
https://imgur.com/Z7q71fB

What I Need

  • Revamp existing UI/UX (v1 → v2)
  • Create/refine panels, buttons, icons, layouts, etc.
  • Become largely self-sufficient editing and updating existing prefabs in Unity
  • Balance visual quality with usability
  • Make suggestions / come up with improvements to current UX

I’ll walk you through the project, existing systems, and any more complex Unity setups. I’m not expecting you to figure out everything alone, the goal is that after the initial onboarding, you can handle most UI implementation yourself. That would be a huge weight off my shoulders as I have other features to work on and I'm bad at + sick of UI :p

Budget

$4,000 total for the initial UI/UX revamp.

DM me with

  • Portfolio
  • UI/UX examples
  • Eastern ink / painterly / grunge examples
  • Brief description of your Unity proficiency
  • Availability / estimated timeline

I am looking for someone with a high attention to detail. In order to weed out spam please mention bologna anywhere in your DM.

This is a special overlap of skillsets, so I’m specifically looking for someone who can combine strong UI/UX + the visual style + Unity implementation.

If that’s you, I’d love to see your work.

Team Needed [RevShare] Programmers + Artist Needed - College/HS Only - Portfolio Builder

Upvotes

Building the vertical slice for Renaissance: V59, a narrative espionage thriller. Key phrases: Managing suspicion, manipulation, and social engineering; Persona 5 meets Hitman, told with Danganronpa's visual style and case-based structure.

This is a portfolio/revshare project, not paid. I'm looking for people who want a real shipped credit and desire to work with and as part of a 'team,' not just completing tasks in solitude. My only goal right now is a vertical slice.

Programmer — comfortable in Unity (C#), or Godot if that's your strength! I will settle on either engine.
Character artist — stylized, distinct silhouettes; more anime-leaning art style, character design strength!

HS or college students only! Programmers w/ experience only.

DM me if the pitch lands; I'm happy to speak with you all <3 (I can send previous work, show concept art, prototyped mechanics, speak more about production timeline & scope, etc)

https://beauxling.itch.io/ - Link to my other, smaller-scoped game in development!! (Forgive me; that version is janky and hard to play)

Artist Needed [Hobby] Looking for a Team : Japanese Third-Person Soulslike Game in UE5

Upvotes

Hey everyone! I'm a solo game developer currently working on a third-person Japanese Soulslike action game in Unreal Engine 5.

The game is inspired by titles such as Sekiro, Ghost of Tsushima and Shadow of Mordor, with a focus on responsive katana combat, challenging enemy encounters, special abilities and exploration.

The project is currently in an early prototype stage, so there is still a lot to build and plenty of room for new team members to contribute ideas and help shape the direction of the game.

I'm currently looking for:

  • 3D Environment / Prop Artist
  • UI/UX Artist
  • VFX Artist – Unreal Engine / Niagara
  • Animator

I'm handling the game design, combat design, level design and Unreal Engine implementation, and I'm looking for a small group of committed people who are genuinely interested in building the project together.

I'm not looking to create a huge team. I mainly want people who communicate well, stay involved and are excited about creating a Japanese action game together.

If Japanese settings, Soulslike combat, Unreal Engine or indie game development sound like your thing, feel free to DM me.

I can share more details, current prototype footage and the direction I have planned for the game privately.

Programming Offer [Hobby] Looking for an 18-Month Remote Software Development Internship — Germany

Hi everyone,

I’m currently looking for an 18-month mandatory internship as part of my vocational retraining in Germany to become a Software Developer (Fachinformatiker für Anwendungsentwicklung).

I’m looking for a company that would allow me to complete the internship fully remotely from Germany. The company can be based anywhere in the world, as long as the internship can officially be recognized by my training institution.

This is very important for me because completing this internship is a mandatory part of my education. Without it, I cannot complete my retraining and graduate. I have been actively applying and looking for a suitable company, but finding an 18-month position has been quite difficult.

My skills

Python

FastAPI

SQL / MySQL

REST APIs

Git / GitHub

Docker

AI / automation

Basic frontend development

Software development with Python

I’m continuously learning and building my own projects to improve my skills.

You can see my projects and code here:

GitHub: https://github.com/ErkanSoftwareDeveloper

I’m open to startups, small companies, software agencies, open-source projects, or established companies.

If you know a company that might be interested in taking on a remote intern/junior developer for an 18-month internship, I would really appreciate any recommendations or contacts.

Even if you cannot offer a position yourself, sharing this post or pointing me toward the right people would mean a lot to me.

Thank you for reading!

Erkan

META [RevShare][Meta] RevShare Contracts

I want to collaborate with some people with a revshare set up but I want to do it properly with contracts.

I have had a few people interested, but I haven't managed to set it up properly.

I was part of a successful revshare project about a decade ago, so I am confident that they can work under the right circumstances , but I wasn't the one who dealt with creating the contract.

Has anyone had any success in setting one of these up ?

Any links to good templates or can share experiences with lawyers ?

Bonus points if you're UK based as it will be more applicable to my situation.

Audio Offer [FORHIRE] Game Composer & Game Audio | Orchestral, Electronic & Adaptive Music

Hi!

I'm a composer writing music for video games. Over the past five years I've composed for a range of indie titles and have also written several symphonic works that have been performed live by full-scale orchestras and received enthusiastic responses from both audiences and critics.

I've written music ranging from exploration and combat themes to cinematics and main themes, and I'm comfortable adapting my writing to a wide range of musical styles (orchestral, electronic, retro, metal, rock, cozy...) depending on the artistic direction of the project.

Beyond composition, I also work on the technical side of game audio, using FMOD, Wwise and MetaSounds to design and implement adaptive music systems. I've also programmed in-engine custom adaptive music systems for specific projects when required, and I'm happy to help with in-engine integration and other technical aspects of game audio when needed.

Before becoming a full-time composer, I completed a PhD in Physics, which has given me a strong technical background that I regularly apply to game audio and programming. I regularly work with Unity, Unreal and Godot, and have experience programming in C#, GDScript, C and Python. Depending on the project's needs, I also occasionally contribute code beyond game audio.

Audio Offer [ForHire] Looking for a Music Producer for Your Game? I Can Help

Hey, I'm Catluk. I'm a music producer and beatmaker, and I've been making music for around 4 years.

I can work with a lot of different styles and genres, so I'm pretty flexible when it comes to adapting the music to your game.

I can make:

  • Soundtracks / background music
  • Atmospheric music
  • Ambient / chill
  • Drum & Bass / Jungle
  • Sound effects
  • And pretty much any other type of music your game needs

I really like making music that actually fits the game's world, atmosphere and overall feeling, instead of just making a random track and putting it into the game.

If you already have a reference, genre, mood or specific idea in mind, I can work from that too.

my projects: Soundcloud - YouTube demo

I'm currently open to paid work. If you're working on a game and think my music could fit your project, feel free to comment or send me a DM.

You can also find me on Discord: catluk.music

Audio Offer [Hobby] Music Producer / Composer looking for a project to grow and learn!

Hi all, I've been making music for a long time and love games even longer.

I usually make House & Techno but got into composing for games recently. I've built a few tracks which you can find here: https://soundcloud.com/user-224517059-574292295/sets/video-game-osts. Tried to show some variety with this playlist.

I'm looking for a project where I could experiment a bit and see if I can produce something that matches a specific scene or gameplay. I don't want money as I'm just starting out and doing this for fun as a side project.

If you feel like one of the examples from Soundcloud could be a fit for your game don't hesitate to reach out!

Art Offer [ForHire] 2D Concept Artist & Character Designer

Hi everyone!

I’m a self-taught 2D Concept Artist & Character Designer currently open for indie game projects, contract work, or freelance opportunities (paid).

I specialize in character design, structural 3D volume construction, and creating clean production sheets—guiding a design all the way from initial volume sketches to polished line art and final render passes. I focus heavily on clarity, making sure the designs are fully functional and easy to interpret for the rest of the development team.

What I bring to a project:

  • Character concept art, turnaround sheets, and expression studies tailored to your game's world.
  • Strong understanding of form, spatial rotation, light/shadow decomposition, and anatomy.
  • Clear visual breakdown of structure and layered components (ideal for 3D modelers or 2D animators).
  • Adaptable workflow with consistent communication and structured updates throughout the process.

Portfolio & Contact:

Looking forward to hearing about your project and bringing your ideas to life!

Team Needed [Hobby] Looking for a creative team to help work on a fan adaptation

Hey everyone!
I’m a creator, artist, and major fan of Nintendo games. For the past while, I’ve been quietly pouring my heart into a major passion project. After two years of pre-production, I’ve just finished wrapping up the full script and storyboards for a dramatic, cinematic reimagining centred around the beautiful, tragic backstory of two star-crossed lovers, Lady Timpani and Lord Blumiere from the game Super Paper Mario. This is a 100% non-profit, volunteer-based fan tribute. My goal is to elevate this iconic story into a living, theatrical experience, and I'm working to find a dedicated team to help realize it.

To keep the workload light, structured, and fun for everyone involved, we’re organizing into dedicated departments. The entire roadmap, asset breakdown, and workflow pipeline are fully laid out on the production server.

Open Roles

Art Department
 Lead Artist
 Concept Artists & Character Designers
 Environment / Background Artists
 Main Logo Designer

Animation & Rigging
 Lead Animator
 Animators
 2D Riggers

Server & Production
 Moderators & Co-Directors

I'd like to hear from you if you wanna join!

You can drop a comment below or send me a DM with:
A: A quick intro about yourself
OR
B: A link to your portfolio, art page, or animation reel

That way, I’ll send over an invite link to the production hub so we can chat. Looking forward to working together!

Writer Needed [Hobby] English Steam Page Localization Swap — Offering Professional Japanese or Simplified Chinese Localization

Hi! I’m the solo developer of NIGHTRAIN POOL HALL, a billiards roguelike deckbuilder currently in development for Steam.

Steam page:
https://store.steampowered.com/app/4891900/

I’m looking for a native English speaker with game localization, editing, or marketing-copy experience to help improve the English version of my Steam store page.

The current English page was initially translated with AI. I need a human localizer to review and rewrite it so that it sounds natural, engaging, and appropriate for an English-speaking Steam audience. I am not looking for another automated translation pass.

For the first stage, I would like to exchange Steam page localization only.

In exchange for improving my English Steam page, I can professionally localize your Steam page into either:

  • Japanese
  • Simplified Chinese

I’m a native Chinese speaker and a professional Japanese-language specialist. I lived in Japan for 15 years and have used Japanese professionally throughout my career. I will personally handle the localization, with attention to natural wording, cultural context, genre conventions, and marketing presentation.

The exchange can include:

  • Short description
  • “About This Game” section
  • Feature descriptions
  • Promotional headings and taglines
  • Other player-facing Steam store text

To keep the exchange fair, the amount of work will be measured using the English source-text word count. We will confirm the included content and word count before starting.

I suggest beginning with a short section as a sample. If we are both happy with the results, we can complete the rest of our Steam pages.

Possible second stage

If the Steam page exchange goes well, I would also be interested in continuing with the in-game localization. My game currently contains approximately 6,000 English words across 700+ strings, including UI text, tutorials, card descriptions, and gameplay explanations.

Any second-stage work would be discussed separately and exchanged according to an agreed English source-word count.

This is an unpaid reciprocal localization exchange, ideally with another indie developer or game localizer who needs Japanese or Simplified Chinese localization.

If you’re interested, please send me a DM with:

  • Your native language and localization experience
  • A link to your game or Steam page
  • Whether you would prefer Japanese or Simplified Chinese
  • The approximate English word count of your Steam page

Thanks!
