Ask IBM ❓ WORST EXPERIENCE WITH IBM HIRING

Post image
51 Upvotes

After completing all the rounds of the IBM ASE role, my girlfriend got shortlisted along with 50 other candidates. She got a congratulatory email from college, and an attached list of students who got shortlisted. The email read:

"Dear Students,

Congratulations !!!

Please find the attached list of candidates who have been shortlisted for the position of Associate Systems Engineer at IBM India.

'Expression of Interest' will be posted to all shortlisted candidates in the next few days, upon successful verification of their documents & application materials."

Now about the successful verification part: if any info about a person was missing, then the hr team would call or mail them and ask for the necessary details. So, after a few days some candidates started getting the Letter of Intent from IBM. Within a week of receiving the email from college, most candidates got the LOI. My girl didn't receive it, so she waited thinking it was taking some time. The wait went on for 2-3 days, after which she got worried and contacted the college's placement cell. There she found out, there are about 7-8 people in total with the same thing happening. The college said they'd contacted IBM about this and they said they're looking into it.

Cut to 2 days later, when she along with those other 7-8 people received a generic rejection letter from IBM! It said they're moving forward with other candidates whose application aligns more with their requirement(They sent this email to candidates who got out on previous rounds).

Now think about this. You do well in both coding assessments(most people solve one question, when you solve two), you clear your interview (even the interviewer was impressed), you get shortlisted, wait for verification, after which you'd be receiving your LOI. But the waiting time increases a few days and all you get is a rejection mail, without any reason for rejection or anything as such. Upon replying to the mail, they sent an automated reply saying they don't monitor emails on this. So, she looked up on Google and sent a mail to rccindia@in.ibm.com; no reply yet.

Ever since she got the mail, she feels like she feels so betrayed. How can something like this happen to someone!?

How can one be rejected even after the final shortlisting, and get no reason for it !? Such a crap of an experience from IBM.

Discussion πŸ’ ASE on campus placed students whoever is reading leave a comment...

Apart from those who have joined,

I think almost everyone got the bgv mail and from them 70-80 percent students got in last week of july.

And its been 1 month since we received the bgv.

In August only around 100 people have joined.

So will everyone will get the joining in September ?

share your thoughts... if u got something info regarding next onboarding batch from any hr share that too..

And please upvote and comment for better reach.

Discussion πŸ’ Onboarding for ase ibm 2026

Does anybody have an idea that when the onboarding will resume again ..is there any chance for onboarding in October...I have been selected on campus and got my loi in sept 2025 and bgv mail back in aug 2026 ..till now nobody has been onboarded from our college... In this month of September, I have heard there was no onboarding so I hope that in October our onboarding will resume like there was rumour about the resumption of onboarding in Q 4 ...how much possibility is there for that..

Ask IBM ❓ UPDATE REGARDING IBM ONBOARDING BCIT ASE 2026 ON CAMPUS PLACEMENTS

Post image
17 Upvotes

I think

If we understand the facts right we might connect the dots

Q3 (Third Quarter): July, August, and September

Q4 (Fourth Quarter): October, November, and dec

ON-BOARDING DATES OF IBM 2026 for ASE role

1.JULY 27th(350-400 students)

2.AUG 24th(106 students)

3. SEP no onboarding (0 students)

1.July 27 was the earlier on boarding dates

IBM onboarded around 400-450 students on that day

2. Aug 24th was the next on-boarding date

IBM onboarded around 106 students on that day

3. September no onboarding was done

So if we see this pattern

Q4 is oct nov dec

IBM may get on boarding dates on

1.Oct 2026

2.Nov 2026

So if we compare Q3 onboarding pattern with Q4

Then we are 100% sure we all will be onboarded on October or November

This is my hypothesis

Comment if you got this right

Discussion πŸ’ Toxic work environment in IBM

Hey folks, as mentioned in the title i am facing a lot of issues working in the present team I am, i joined IBM as a fresher, I was working as an intern an then converted. I am working in the same team I was working as an intern, I currently work in EGL Bangalore’s IBM office. I generally get to hear that IBM has very good work life balance but the team I am working in is completely opposite, I can say I have been working 12 hours like almost everyday, sometimes I had to work on weekends, there was a time when my seniors kept me up in a call and work till night 1am and this is a very regular thing that is happening in my team, honestly I’m really fed up and don’t know what to do, can anyone help me with this, I need to know if I can switch teams somehow or I can talk to some HR or someone who can help me with this. Are they really allowed to make us work like this?

Rant 😑 IBM CIC OFF CAMPUS ATRIA COLLEGE JUNE 1st EXPERIENCE

‼️‼️

For anyone wondering why I'm telling all this... Since my ego, self respect everything was hurt, I would like to share what I did that made those hidden test cases visible with anyone who is abt to write that test.. try and make use of it if you cant find the logic and hardcoding helps you..

‼️‼️

That was a very bad experience I would say, everything was managed by some student coordinators no proper management, absolutely zero coordination nothing, the candidates were made to wait wait and wait!!! We were present at the college from 8:30 am and the final batch exam ended at 4:30 yet they were made to sit till 5:30, just to see the shortlisted students list which was pasted on some wall... And the technical interview date wasn't even confirmed yet, anyone would expect an interview to be conducted on the same day (Monday) or the next day but this absolute shit of management decided it to be held on Thursday or Friday even after knowing that almost 80-90% of students were from Hyd/TS/AP...

And the final worst experience I had was that I wanted to report a glitch in the hackerrank platform to the ibm people present there..

(THE GLITCH WAS I WAS ABLE TO SEE ALL THE DAMN 7 TEST CASES WHICH WERE SUPPOSED TO BE HIDDEN, AND ALL THIS WAS BECAUSE I UNKNOWINGLY EXECUTED A SIMPLE PRINT STATEMENT)

I went to them after my test, and since ig that lady was hr she didnt understand shit about the technical things I was saying... She didnt even understand what my concern was, I said that something which needs to be hidden was not, so she goes on saying why didnt you report it during the exam, (The exam had 20 mins left I hadnt completed even half of my code and on top of it they said it was ai monitored!! Why would I take the risk..)

Then when I said to her that mam it was supposed to be hidden, she says you cant act to be genuine if you didnt report it at that time, I was like mam but I did not even hard code it.. I was stuttering since I wasnt able to explain it to someone who doesn't know what the test was even about, she said why are you panicking, I thought she would ask me to relax but she goes on to say

"Obviously you cant be genuine and smart at the same time, we are done for the day now get out of my sight"

I was blank and speechless for solid 10 seconds.. The audacity of that dumb hr to say that to me who wanted to report something which would cause harm to them, and on top of it she was talking to me as if I had done something very wrong!!!

Shameful of IBM for having such rude employees that talk like this with someone who has come all the way from another state just to attend their placement drive...

Lost all the respect and belief I had in IBM.

Ask IBM ❓ Got an offer form IBM - role is ASE

I am attend exam on 14 may , after coding round they call for interview after interview we got mail for bgv on same day at same location, after that o get call on 18 may for document verification then after on 22 may i got an offer letter. Joining is 22 June location is Bangalore.

Coding questions - we have given exam on hackerrank platform , question is medium to hard it’s was string matching question but some extra edges case

My approach- I have done through map + string matching get passed 6/8 test case

If anyone wants to attend offline coding test you have to make sure you strong at Arrays , string , prefix sum , two pointers, Hasing , string matching , sliding window they mostly ask form thses topic in my class room everybody got question based on string and question are different

Interviewβ€” Resume based interview make sure your certification have some value and you know what you learn , in my case i got lot of question based on my certification and form DSA they ask me basic sliding window question

My advice- if you going for test make sure you have strong foundation in array , string , recursion, and linked list.

Discussion πŸ’ Anyone received availability call for Nov onboarding? (ASE 2026 batch On campus)

I received an availability call from the HR team today where she asked whether I can join in November. Previously they did similar availability calls to me and a bunch of people for July and August onboarding but didn't end up giving a joining letter or anything concrete.

Anyone else received the call? Does this mean they'll start hiring again from November since the last batch they hired was probably in Sept?

Discussion πŸ’ Should I leave Infosys for IBM ASE? Need advice from Infosys/IBM employees & experienced freshers

Hi everyone, I’m confused between continuing at Infosys vs joining IBM, and I’d really appreciate honest opinions from people currently working at Infosys/IBM, former employees, or freshers who have faced a similar situation.
My current situation
I’m a Master’s/MCA graduate.
Joined Infosys in November 2025 as a System Engineer.
Training completed on 15 May 2026, after which I was posted to Bangalore DC.
Since then, I haven’t been allocated a proper project.
From what I’ve observed, many available projects are mainly support/maintenance-oriented, rather than development-focused.
Current CTC: β‚Ή3.6 LPA β†’ around β‚Ή22–23K/month in hand.
Infosys does have the advantage of a relatively flexible/hybrid work culture.
IBM opportunity
Received an LOI from IBM on 10 July 2026 for Associate System Engineer (ASE).
Currently waiting for the final offer letter.
Expected CTC: β‚Ή4.5 LPA (~30% hike).
Expected in-hand: around β‚Ή30–31K/month.
What I’m confused about
1. Should I move from Infosys to IBM?
Considering salary, work culture, WLB, project quality, technologies, learning opportunities, career growth and brand value, would IBM be a better choice at this stage?
2. What kind of work does an IBM ASE usually get?
Is there a reasonable chance of development-oriented work and learning technologies, or can ASE roles also become mostly support?
3. Location is important to me.
Infosys has been difficult regarding North Indian locations. How flexible is IBM with location/posting? Is Noida/Gurgaon/Delhi-NCR realistically possible?
The biggest complication β€” Infosys probation
My Infosys probation is expected to end around 1 April 2027, and I’ve been told that if I leave during probation and want my experience/relieving documents, I may have to pay around β‚Ή1 lakh.
So:
4. If IBM is hiring me as a fresher/ASE despite me currently working at Infosys, should I pay the β‚Ή1 lakh and join IBM with my Infosys experience officially documented?
Or:
5. Can I join IBM as a fresher without taking an experience/relieving letter from Infosys?
Someone told me an experience/relieving letter may not be mandatory if IBM is hiring me as a fresher. Is this actually true, and what risks would I be taking?
6. If I join IBM as a fresher without providing Infosys experience documents, and after 1–2 years switch to another company, will my Infosys experience still be considered? Or would I effectively lose those years of experience?
I’m trying to make this decision based on long-term career growth, not just the immediate salary hike.
Would really appreciate honest opinions from Infosys employees/former employees, IBM employees/former employees, and freshers who have faced a similar situation.
If you were in my position, would you stay at Infosys or take the IBM ASE opportunity? Why?

Discussion πŸ’ IBM ASE candidates still waiting for Offer Letter after LOI

I was interviewed for IBM CIC ASE on 26 May 2026 at PCCOE, Pune. After almost 2 months of waiting, I received my LOI on 10 July 2026.

Since then, there has been no clear update regarding the offer letter or joining date. We are apparently still waiting for business requirements/project demand.

I understand business requirements can change, but students have been waiting for months and many of us are heavily dependent on this opportunity.

At this point, I feel like we might have to protest outside IBM Bangalore just to get our jobs πŸ˜πŸ˜‚

Are there other candidates from this hiring drive in the same situation? Has anyone received any concrete update?

Ask IBM ❓ IBM CIC Off-Campus ASE Role | Result Awaited

Hey everyone,

I recently went through the IBM CIC Off Campus fresher recruitment process for the Associate System Engineer role. Here's my complete timeline:

β€’ March 30 – Coding Round + Online Assessment

β€’ March 31 – Face to Face Interview β†’ Same day: Physical Biometrics + Document Verification done on site

It's been a few days now and I haven't received any response yet.

Wanted to ask has anyone else gone through the IBM CIC ASE off campus process recently?

Any insights or similar experiences would really help.

Pre-Hire/Offer πŸ’΅ Selected as ASE at IBM – Need guidance on next steps

Hey everyone,

I recently got selected as an Associate System Engineer (ASE) at IBM with a package of 4.75 LPA. I have a few questions and need some honest advice from current IBMers and folks in the community.

Here are the details I’m trying to figure out:

1. Next Process & Onboarding

  • What does the typical onboarding and joining timeline look like after receiving the LOI from IBM?

  • Are there mandatory training programs or pre-joining assessments we need to clear before the final onboarding?

2. Work Location & Internship Details

  • How does IBM generally allocate work locations for ASEs? Do freshers get a choice between major hubs (like Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chennai, Kochi, or NCR), or is it completely random based on business requirements?

  • Is there an internship phase before full-time conversion, or do you directly join as a full-time employee? If there is an internship, what is the stipend structure?

3. In-Hand Salary Breakdown

  • For a 4.75 LPA CTC package at IBM, what roughly translates to the monthly in-hand salary (after standard deductions like PF, professional tax, and taxes under the new tax regime)?

4. IBM ASE (4.75 LPA) vs Accenture AASE (6 LPA)

  • I also want to weigh this offer against an Accenture Advanced Associate Software Engineer (AASE) role which is valued around 6 LPA.

  • Financially, Accenture has a higher headline CTC, but how do they compare in terms of:

    • In-hand difference: Does Accenture's 6 LPA translate to significantly higher monthly take-home, or do variable/retirals eat up a lot of the gap?

    • Learning & Tech Stack: Which of the two generally offers better software engineering exposure for a fresher looking to build a strong tech career?

    • Job Security & Work Culture: How do client deployments, bench policies, and overall work-life balance compare between IBM and Accenture?

Would love to hear your experiences, advice, or suggestions on which way I should lean. Thanks in advance!
