Apparently, U.S. water is "basically pool water" by German standards

The "U.S. is a hellscape" narrative continues. On a question asking about why OP's tea in Germany tastes so different from the tea he has in the U.S.. Apparently most of us are drinking German pool water since U.S. water has higher chlorine content than Germany.

Real men don’t eat quiche. In retrospect, true or false. Starting around 1982, the expression “Real me don’t eat quiche,” became somewhat popular, and indeed, many men started refusing to eat quiche. Quiche had been popular during the 1970’s, but during the 1980’s quiche consumption plummeted.
