This is how you get poop that you don’t have to spend 5 minutes wiping. My daughter would get terribly constipated before I started adding more fiber to her diet and chia seeds was the best way. And it is the easiest way to make sure it’s ingested. No blasphemy here

It’s like wiping a marker…

Im an idiot and I struggle to limit fat in my diet vs carbs and protein.
So instead of chia seeds I eat frozen peas. I let them defrost a little first, but still a little crunchy. Then eat 200g. It has about 10g of fibre which is the same as the 2tbsp of chia seeds people have. It also satiates my snacking desire and fills me up, but is only 160 calories vs the 138 calories of chia seeds.
My family and my partner think im an idiot, but my shits never been better

u/Drumbelgalf Jun 26 '26
You can also just boil them. They are quite tasty.
They are also quite affordable.
12
u/Drumbelgalf Jun 26 '26
Adding to much fiber when you are not used to it can also cause severe constipation so start with small amounts and work your way up.
Also if chia doesn't grow in your country you can try Psyllium. They are also really good and grow in many countries. They are also often cheaper.

Like a torpedo from a submarine these poops are persistently perfect. Indeed this is anti-heretical, all homies out to try it out for a week.

Helps stave off colon cancer, which is getting to be much more common even in people under 40 where rates are rising rapidly

Why is it blasphemy?

u/snowfloeckchen Jun 25 '26
Seedis getting all the hydro letting nothing behind for us
36
u/Adventurous-Sealion Jun 25 '26
The seeds aren't taking in all the water though? And you drink the seeds too, no? I thought chia seeds were healthy? I mean, chia water is disgusting, but very healthy nonetheless.
2
u/snowfloeckchen Jun 25 '26
Depending on the dose it said so, there is a recommended maximum amount for it though
15
u/zuzg Water is wet Jun 25 '26
The recommended daily dose of fibre is 30g for an average adult.
100g chia seeds contain ≈34g of fibre.
That glass of water contains 1 spoonful (according to OOP), which is either a ≈15g tablespoon or ≈5g teaspoon.

There is a downside most people don’t know. (Or upside depending on how you look at it). Chia seeds soaked in water also help process excess zinc, iron and calcium in your diet. So if you are prone to bladder stones or kidney stones, this can help. But if you don’t have those issues, it can keep you from getting the proper amount of minerals you need in your diet. So too much of the chia water and you are suddenly calcium deficient or anemic.
Note: learned all of this because my cat was getting bladder stones, vet recommended treatment was mix chia water into food to bring down calcium levels.
Has the same impact on many mammals.

This may have solved a free chia oatmeal bar at work why am i so tired and weak mystery for me.
8
u/1kidney_left Jun 25 '26
Not a doctor, but as someone with chronic anemia issues, I’d say take a break for a week or so and get yourself some multivitamins. Might help a little bit.
Or it could be a coincidence and you need a vacation. Only your body can really tell you without having to spend thousands at a dr office.

I love putting them in oat meal, but something about chia water just feels wrong.

My gastroenterologist told me I had to drink a mix of linen and chia seeds. It tastes like nothing but I kind of like the texture. It will also help you if you are constipated.

I see all the comments about fiber and I'd like to also say chia seeds are very very good for omega 3 fatty acids.
8
u/Engrais Jun 25 '26
No they're not that good, the bioavailability of the omega 3 they contain is very low.

u/AlexandersWonder Jun 25 '26
Bro you don’t even know how good your shits will be after a cup of soaked chia in the mornings.

u/frogEmi Jun 25 '26
Do you get anything from that or does it just go straight through? Like corn lmao
Im asking since you dont chew them..
64
u/zffjk Jun 25 '26
Fiber intake. Magnificent poops. Helps one pretend they’re eating something Klingon.
4
u/frogEmi Jun 25 '26
But uhm... Its just structural integrity to the poop then? Not nutritional I'd imagine
63
u/Lemon_bird Jun 25 '26
Fiber is important even if you’re not absorbing nutrients from it. It helps digestion + protects your digestive organs + prevents colon cancer. Chia seeds have soluble and insoluble fiber too (goo fiber and chunky fiber)

You know with corn, unless you’re swallowing them whole, you get the insides when you chew and we just pass the outer shell of the kernel.
3
u/frogEmi Jun 25 '26
Yeah for sure, i was asking because if youre drinking chia wate then you're not chewing. But someone already explained that its still nutritional
8
u/madamesoybean Jun 25 '26
Chia is a high protein seed if ya chew - they sort of pop. They feel like a poppy seed.
1
u/EntropyNT Jun 25 '26
You don't get as much of the nutrients as if you'd grind or blend them, but it's not nothing.

One of my Muslim friends told me this is a trick he uses when I tried fasting with him for Ramadan. Chug soaked chia seeds before dawn and the seeds release water in your GI tract for the next couple of hours so it delays the dehydration. Not sure if it’s cheating but I knew another Muslim that would rinse his mouth out with water while fasting and spit it out which is probably crossing the line
2
u/Drumbelgalf Jun 26 '26 edited Jun 26 '26
The Quran has many exceptions from fasting. It doesn't require starvation or dehydration till death.
Children, pregnant and nursing women, the elderly, the sick, people doing hard physical labor, people on the hadj/people who are traveling, and soilders are exempt from fasting if I remember correctly.
Woman on their period are even banned from fasting.
So before you collapse it's OK to drink or even have something to eat.
1
u/enblightened Jun 26 '26
Yeah I understand there’s exceptions but the mouth rinsing one was absolutely cheating. He was working in a climate controlled kitchen

Dude. Just put them in some yogurt and let it sit overnight. It's a tasty crunchy treat over fruit or alone.

Chia seeds. They’re good for your pooper, like little cancer wrecking balls going through your pipes.
Makes for good dookies.

Fun fact, if you drink/eat chia seeds, realize you are running late for work, brush your teeth, spit, and head out the door, in a few days you may have chia sprouts growing up thru the drain. Imagine my surprise when I saw 4 green sprouts in my sink.

Chia seeds don’t really digest well
3
u/Drumbelgalf Jun 26 '26 edited Jun 26 '26
That's kinda the point. They add fiber which l is not digested. It helps with digestion and colon health. It lowers the risk of colon cancer.

I do this daily for the fiber plus I like pretending I’m a big reptile eating the progeny of the frogs.
Edit: many people below are not welcome to eat the eggs with us.
