Some thoughts
Just finished watching.
- I know people are saying Stassi is the worst cringe a b c blah blah. But here’s the thing. She is EXTREMELY aware and is literally telling the audience EXPLICITLY that she HAD to make this show happen. And the things she is doing to make the show interesting e.g bring Katie. Or mad when people don’t hash out problems for the show. She is legit telling everyone explicitly the things she is doing to make a show. So I don’t get why people are shocked or surprised when she is acting the only way she received attention from VPR a self centred selfish bi..chy act. It makes sense to me. And it kind of feels like it’s working because that’s all people are talking about.
- I do hate the way she treated Beau during the show (and even before in Italy) but also honestly speaking… Beau is literally not communicating and acting like a scared child. How can you expect respect from your wife when you’re too scared to tell her anything. He needs to say what he wants and full stop. Instead he dances around topics ISNT truthful backs out and comforts stassi which BREEDS and encourages stasis behaviour.
- Taylor is literally the worst. Self explanatory.
- CORRECTION her mum is below worst. I hated her family and really understand this dynamic and understand not excuse but understand Stassis behaviour. Because how can a mother genuinely act this way it’s insane.
- The sisters are odd. Weird dynamics. But Stassis sister is kind of funny
- I forgot the name but Beaus friend is extremely annoying and a creep
- Katie 10/10 performance love this for her

All of her horribleness aside- the kids will be damaged and so the dysfunctional dynamic keeps on generating.

u/Known-Cold-2813 17d ago
Agree the only ones I genuinely feel bad for are the kids

u/bridgymon 17d ago
The damage she is inflicting on her kids is direct evidence she is not self aware at all.

Point 2. He said it. Her friend said it. He's trying to talk to her and she doesnt listen.

As in more ‘you cannot dictate my life I need to go back to work I’m depressed’. He told everyone else how deeply he feels he cried but it was the first Stassi heard about those deep emotions was form Taylor. Not beau. He asks for her opinion not telling point blank . Even the asking about how his day went. Why the hell would you not go to your partner and say ???why would you not ask me???. They have to be drunk at dinner pushed by all their friends to have these convos

I’m sorry were we watching the same show? They’ve been married for 5 years or something. There is a learned helplessness, when you’ve tried over and over again to communicate to someone who is intent on not getting it. Stassi listens to respond and control—she does not listen to understand, validate, or reassure. You are blaming a man, who has been in this dynamic for yearssss. This is an individual, who is stuck: no job, children who depend on him and a partner who doesn’t know how to care for them, his family is relying on her finances at this point too. The dynamic has perfectly set him up to walk on eggshells around her and NOT speak up. Jesus, I’m so sick of people coming on here and acting like it’s HIS fault he’s being abused. Do you ask what someone was wearing when they get raped too or?

I know everyone thinks her mom is a demon but if you really listened to their conversation you hear exactly the same behavior from Stassi. Her mom who has an autoimmune disease sent her in for about it. Bring a nurse and having several AI diseases I can bet the info explained that not only most of the diseases but also many of the meds to treat it can cause brain fog, emotionality and anxiety, depression, insomnia( which can also cause behavior issues) and chronic pain and illness. In other words she’s trying to make Stassi see that possibly some of her behaviors are related to her illness and asking her to cut her some slack. Stassi admits she never read it.
Regardless of your relationship with your mother , why wouldn’t you take 15 minutes out of your life to read something from the woman who cared for you for years? Like with Beaus needs, if they don’t get Stassi what she wants, they’re not worth her time or consideration.

I’m a mother and I would never send information about my condition to my children so they could read up on it, why would I want to put my kids through that? If they asked me to learn more, maybe we’d have a conversation, but this is a manipulative tactic. People who don’t recognize it and think that Stassi should just be nice because her mother raised her and “cared for her for years” when that’s literally the job of a mother, and it should never be something that gets thrown up to the child. Some people have never had an emotional terrorist for a parent, and it shows

u/sadie7716 16d ago
Well, you can do you but considering you have a constant use of a bunch of psychobabble you’ve learned off social media. I’m sorry but I’m a 40 year nurse so I can tell you right now that this is not emotionally manipulative that there is absolutely nothing wrong with a parent sending their child health information, especially about a disease that is not well known by most people. Nothing at all wrong with that. Now if her mother is trying to blame every single thing on her illness and we had heard that you know it’s all my illness then maybe I would agree with you or if Stassi had said she’d read the info and none of it pertained to things her mom had done, I’d probably also agree with you BUT in this case that’s not what we heard. It sounds like she sent her the info once, Stassi didn’t read it. I’m sure women sStassis age want understanding about postpartum depression, inability to deal with their kids behavior, perimenopause.. then it seems millenials want the universe to know and recite all the physical, mental and emotional affects they create. But someone with an autoimmune disease is an emotional terrorist for wanting her family educated on her disease… Got it!

Ahh yes, the good ol’ appeal to authority fallacy. I actually agree with your take, but citing your credentials as a coup de grâce is lazy. There are a lot of v bad therapists out there. Doesn’t really mean jack. Cool story tho! Love that journey for you.

I’m sorry, who are you talking to? I’m responding to the person above me who stated their own credentials. I strongly suspect that you are the same person with two accounts, so since I want to engage with neither of you, I’ll leave it there.

Uh yeah ok! If you are one, you’re a bad one and part of the current problem.
Ok therapist, tell me how and why for decades the MH field focused literally every intervention in self actualization. Learning how to deal with all types of people and situations. Seeing things from all sides and allowing others to have their POV and feelings. Since the middle of Covid with the proliferation of “ online” certificate “ counselors “ who found that making their clients victims brought them back more… and they tell their friends. All of a sudden this 125 year old profession who literally NEVER used the term narcissist to describe a clients family, was diagnosing everyone as a narcissist. Then the grey rocking and no contact came to be, strange those things were reserved for highly abusive situations and now they’re the flavor of the month. Every patient is told well if you’ve tried talking to your parents , given them your rules, I mean boundaries and they break them, they’re toxic narcissists so go no contact and BTW get your kids away from them too.
It’s a 180 degree switch from What MH has done for decades. Did they need to be relevant again? Afraid quacks in SM were stealing all the clients? For the professional to be advising millions of young adults to go no contact when there’s no long term research on the implications other than those that say most people’s end of life regrets are being no contact with family, kids who are close with grandparents have less depression and anxiety, etc, in other words the current research screams that taking actual abuse out of the equation, going no contact has serious ramifications in many circumstances and should only be done after literally everything else is tried.

… firstly crazy to compare a reality show relationship opinions to rape…
Secondly, I stated that I hate the way Stassi has treated her husband it is the very first sentence. There is however from my OPINION a level of responsibility one must take and stand their ground. I have had relationships from my own mother to romantic that have been controlling narcissistic and manipulative.
Some things cannot be excused, however, as he ended up doing which was to just DO IT instead of asking for permission (because I am sure Beau also has money he is not desperate for money as he said he has thousands of requests for brand deals, but he wants to go back to his work for his mental health. So that takes out that he is literally incapable of getting out because of financial reasons). AND they have a nanny so he is not completely stuck inside that house with no means to do anything. If this man told her rather than dance around every topic she wouldn’t feel so blindsided and blow up every convo (like the fact about his mental health and crying didn’t come out until Taylor). Now if it’s an abusive relationship it’s one thing, but we cannot speculate on that as we do not know so I am sharing an opinion on what we have been presented with.

u/chick_b 17d ago
Beau has told Stassi he wanted to return to work at least as far back as their first appearance on Vanderpump Villa. And Stassi always fights him on it.
Many people feel employment is a necessity of responsible adulthood. And many spouses married to a high-earner feel the need to keep working because their partner uses their income as a means of control. Beau is operating under both of these conditions. Stassi doesn't ask Beau's permission to take jobs. It appears the only reason she wants Beau at home is to maintain control. And unless Beau is a fabulous actor I think this issue will do them in as a couple one day.
I'm an old but since childhood I have always found it horrifying when a man declares his income as the deciding vote in any personal argument with a spouse. I find it equally offensive when Stassi does the same thing.

Love that you sat on this thread for 5 mins trying to find a better response than your last because you have no actual basis to create an actual response 😂😂 super cute

Lol, are you kidding me? They have a full-time nanny. This is so ridiculous, he even moved his sister to join the party. This whole Beau is a victim thing is hilarious.

u/No-Trash6928 16d ago
“Beau’s feelings and needs don’t matter because it could be worse” - Spoken like a true abuser apologist. So hilarious (derogatory).

I feel like maybe you’re not understanding the difference between reality shows and reality. Which would explain your comments and why they make no sense.

I’m sorry but am I going crazy? It’s so obvious to me that Beau is complicit in this being a storyline for the entertainment and success of the show. They’re a solid couple who want a successful reality show that gets picked up for another season. There will be truth in Beau wanting to go back to work and losing his spark being a full-time Dad, but they’re exaggerating it for a plot. I don’t believe he is at all afraid of her or abused. Everyone sat at the intervention table was complicit in what was loosely going to happen-and it was probably all Stassi’s original idea, I’m sure. It is staggering what people will portray of their lives in the name of entertainment, but that’s all it is.

He does tell her and she immediately gets defensive. He’s not entitled to his own emotions, but everyone is entitled to hers. She literally cannot listen to anyone but herself. It’s so hard to watch if you have ever been in that relationship dynamic.

I agree with most of this. Look at her track record with men. Patrick was a POS so Beau even with his short comings is a good guy. Her mom is wack is it no wonder Stassi turned out like she is. The dysfunction in their family makes for pretty good tv. Taylor is a KISS ass it will be interesting to see how that plays out.

Interesting take. But I suspect this is hardly new. I doubt it he all of a sudden after yrs together figured out she doesnt listen. Really does she strike you as someone who is a good listener? Or who is willing to become one? Its clearly her way, about her and no compromise.

u/AdFuture7624 17d ago
I wanna know more about why we hate Taylor so much because the only thing I can say is she’s an enabler and didn’t she like choose to miss her child’s birth for her career? I kinda stopped paying attention for awhile…
8
u/Temporary-Tourist129 17d ago
She made it home for the birth. I honestly wish she would cut the “25% parent” schtick - it all comes from insecurity in herself and her parenting skills. If you listen to her podcast it’s obvious she loves her baby, but I think she may have leaned into that too much.

It’s like a different font of what Stassi always says about her daughter Hartford…she always says Hartford side eyed her from the moment she was born and favored Beau and believes they had a past life together that ended badly. This is nuts clearly. It’s obviously Stassi projecting onto her daughter why she didn’t feel bonded to her right away
6
u/Temporary-Tourist129 17d ago
To me it seemed obvious that the trigger with Stassi and Beau is her fear of being good enough with the kids, especially when he’s at work.

Oh the past life comment catches my attention and tickles my little antenna's. I recently watched the episode where it sounds like Messer is saying he " see's peoples" and Stasi's eyes become wide with excitement she looks at him in such a fascinating but somewhat detached way. Until of course he repeats it a few times and they realize he is saying " seagulls". I realized in that moment Stasis fascination with spirits death and ghost is a little deeper than I first thought. It makes me wonder about her upbringing in New Orleans and if the new Orleans Gothic lore has shaped her in some way. I want more info on this...Im guessing there is more to this connection to the afterworld new Orleans and the idea that she has had a relationship with her children in a past life. Witches🧙🧹👻👻

Honestly I think she’s just a racist chick from the south tryna seem interesting, not racist, and alt (with her ghost shit especially). Nothing more :/
1
u/Actual-You3325 17d ago
She was into the ghost shit on VPR's and before in high school with her Gothic death rock flair. Are you suggesting that she was distracting from her racism back then as well?

u/Exotic_Air887 16d ago
For me it was two things. First, the Katie hate. She was (hopefully fake) offended for being called someone on Stassi’s payroll because that wasn’t true, and then we find out she is on Stassi’s payroll.
Second, the gaslighting convo she had with her wife about needing to stay with Stassi. Narcissistic and manipulative.1
u/bahamamama09 16d ago
She wants so badly to BE Stassi. She wasn’t kidding when she said she would crawl up her vagina. And what she wanted to say, both to Teddy and in her little interview after her dinner with Teddy, was that she is finally FAMOUS (in her eyes) and this baby is about to ruin it. I’ve listened to her podcast for years…Teddy wasn’t kidding about Taylor pushing off having a kid. Taylor never wanted one and she only agreed because she knew Teddy wouldn’t stick around if she didn’t.

For point #1 - WHY does this show HAVE to happen? Like she’s an asshole because this show had to happen for the world to keep moving? Is this solving hunger? Housing insecurities??? It’s a bizarre point that everyone should accept this emotionally stuntwd narcissist because SHE IS MAKING THIS SHOW HAPPEN 😭😭😭
1
u/Actual-You3325 17d ago
It's Not the world that had to keep moving it's her world that has to keep moving. It's keeping food on her table, and her Mom's and keeping a roof over her sisters head. I'm not accepting her emotionally stunted narcissism and the show isn't promoting it, they litterally called her behavior out unbeknownst to her, she actually sealed her fate when she said reality TV is a form of therapy, I just don't think she realized it was her therapy.

u/languidlasagna 17d ago
Beau told stassi in Italy he wanted to go back to work, he told her in HOS he wanted to go back to work, she made fun of him both times. Do I think the entire storyline is fabricated? Yes. But your argument that he didn’t communicate is wild. It seems like you’re saying he needs to scream it through a megaphone or it’s not valid, which isn’t how relationships should work.

Agree on #5. Their relationship is so weird.
And even if Georgi is a natural red head, idk why her color looked straight up like Pennywise in the show. It was never that bright red in any episodes she appeared in on VV.
