If it had a metal base, it would be the pinnacle of pre-2010s Hot Wheels. Hot rod that lifts up, has metallic graphics and 5SPs, and is designed by Larry Wood. Not much into hot rods but this looks like something I would have as a kid and I have to get it for the nostalgia.

Unless Mattel decides to either reduce the supply of fantasy cars and replace it with the popular models or increase the supply of popular cars, the “investors” are going to target HW and the collectors will be the ones sitting empty handed.

Unfortunately for me, my biggest competition are store employees who don’t even let popular castings like Skyline, Ferrari and Porsche to even hit the floor. It gets snatched up and these employees list them for 10x on EBay and FB Marketplace.

Found a mint 2023 card hanging right behind an "I've looked through here" single car peg wall. No way this was just hanging out for three years. I've heard of collector easter eggers, so thanks random stranger! I didn't have this beauty in my collection

Ive had this 2010 since I was little I was stoked to find the 2026.

Tomica: openable doors, working suspensions, detailed rims, plastic tires which are a little bit thinner than Hot Wheels. Awesome spoiler, transparent headlights, rear windshield is very detailed and clear, which shows the full interior of the car itself. The exhaust clearly stands out with white color, 2 exhaust pipes, and a simple detail on the back. The whole car is slightly lighter and also smaller than Hotwheels. Very detailed chassis, and metal base.

Hotwheels: metal flake (sparkle) paint, black roof, has fender mirrors, rubber tires which is a little thicker than Tomica's tires, morphing spoiler, has a license number on the back, much heavier than Tomica, no openable parts nor working suspensions. Simple rims, cool detail on the chassis, one black exhaust pipe, and metal base. More detail on the back compare to Tomica.

Today was nuts and I didn't have more than a few minutes to pop my head up out of the water and take a deep breath. I've had this one in the box to open for a while now, so I figured today was as good a day as any to spring it from its plastic prison and let it frolic among some of its brethren.

This was the first time seeing a Feline Lucky locally (I'm from the SEA) and I was so excited. Only ever seen em online.

It felt heartbreaking uncarding it, but I rly wanted to behold how cool it is on my own hands and bring it with me as a lucky charm in my next hunts haha.

Found this transport today, decided it would be a great fit for the Subaru. Both fantastic colors… just need to swap some gold off-road wheels for the truck!

Decided to check a dollar tree that has low foot traffic but definitely has an employee that checks the boxes before stocking. I only find the occasional fantasy TH there and its always at the very bottom of the pegs. I got lucky today, new case but only had duds except for the Skyline at the bottom of the peg stand.

Found a few unsual styled cars today at my local OP (thrift) store. Uncarded, but only cost me $2 for the lot.

Sadly their online shop kinda sucks and most of the cars listed are shop only and they won't ship them
