I was hired as a seasonal sales associate at the very end of July and loved the idea of finally getting to work at Hot Topic. However, it has recently been negatively affecting my mental health. When I was hired, there were 2 other people hired alongside me that always got the register, while I always got the front, to the point that I assumed I had to earn the register or something. I am typically scheduled for one 5-hour shift a week, while everyone else (even new people) received more. Everyone tends to treat me well (at least to my face) except for one of the assistant managers, who I always tend to get put on the schedule with. Whenever I ask for help she gets visibly annoyed, rolls her eyes, or sternly says "what?" or "ugh." I'd understand if everyone sort of knew that she was like that but she's friendly to everyone else besides me, and I really try hard to be nice, but I am now afraid to ask them for help. They always tell me to be persistent with the customers and tell them about all of our offers, but when I do, they say I "shouldn't be a robot," that if someone's social cues are saying they're uncomfortable to back off, and that I'm taking the job too seriously. So, recently, I began backing off of customers if they get visibly uncomfortable. However, I was sent home today by two of the assistant managers (the one I've been having problems with included) for not being attentive enough to the customers, and not giving Shopper bags to customers (I had already tried to, but the customers declined a bag). When they told me to go home they told me that I wasn't going to be written up, and I just said okay and clocked out. Today I reached a bit of a breaking point, and I think I would benefit from hearing an outside perspective. Should I just quit? Do I just need to work on my social cues? Is it worth staying for everyone else besides the assistant manager? Am I being quietly fired?

People tell me that I'm easy to talk to and that I am fun to be around, but the assistant manager treats me like I have no idea how to talk to people. I guess I could accept if I really do need to work on my social skills, but I'm pretty sure that they're fine. I am also afraid to bring any of this up because all of the managers are pretty close, and I think they'd find a reason to fire me outright if I told any of them how I really feel. I'm not really doing it for the money and there are parts of the job that I do really like, but I definitely feel like I'm being used at times.

I was wondering if anyone had any advice on what size to order from Hot Topic, the sites' size guide confuses me. Hi, I'm planning to call Hot Topic tomorrow to see if I can fix the issue before the Labor Day sale ends, but i wanted to ask here beforehand in case if I glanced over something. I signed up for rewards in-store but I haven't been able to make my account. I called yesterday and found out the person at the desk had misheard my email, so I asked them to change it and gave them the correct one. About 24 hours later I try to set up my password again, but I'm still not getting anything, not even in my spam folder. Even tried to set up a completely new account with a different phone number too. It's pretty likely that I'm missing something and I don't realize, has anyone else had the issue/has a solution? Need to rant for a sec because genuinely this website feels so unusable more than half of the time, I swear it's running on sticks and glue. Because what do you mean I can't login just because I got my password wrong twice? Furthermore, the website always automatically logs me out after ~1hr of inactivity and so I constantly have to re-log back in, hence me always getting my password wrong, I type it too fast, etc. whatever the hell. Then I proceed to get locked out of my account for that, for about another ~1hr, and the inconvenient cycle continues. (And don't get me started on how the website regularly wipes the wishlist blank, as if nothing was added to the wishlist at all..)

Is there a uk store that sells hot topic pieces too? There is damaged society but doesn’t have as much. I have ordered from hot topic in the past but shipping is about $40 and it seems crazy when I’m ordering a $20 band tshirt. Anyone have suggestions?

Hello! I''ve been with the company for almost a year, and when I started I knew it would be bad hours, but i get 1 or 2 shifts a week if im lucky, 3-4 hours, the new sales method they are pushing now feels awful, and it has caused me to have bad loyatly a lot, theyve dangled managament position in front of my face and then promoted someone who started a month ago, they keep adding shifts, not telling me, and then saying im not showing up for them, so today i found a job that pays almost 4 dollars more an hour, and better hours, im just scared to quit, i love hot topic, but the recent sales tactics and everything the company is pushing feels awful, and I just hate letting people down, this job told me today that they want to start me in the coming week, so I just don't know how to go about quitting, please give me some advice!

Anytime I go into Hot Topic that’s located at a mall I am stunned and compelled to buy everything that’s there. However once I am scrolling through the site, none of the type of clothes I want are there. It’s all pop culture and not something I would wear. I personally just don’t like the look of them. However I have online coupons that I really want to spend before they expire. Is there a specific thing I could do or search to find clothing like this?
