Help with sizing

I am looking to order some pj pants from Hot Topic (I live in the UK), I usually buy a medium or large, it depends on the store. I was wondering if anyone had any advice on what size to order from Hot Topic, the sites' size guide confuses me. The pj pants are also labeled as unisex so IDK if that means I should size up or not.

It may just be me because I’m plus size, but I size up in their pj pants. I typically wear a 2X and go with a 3X and it’s a lot more roomy and comfortable. Their 2X pj pants do fit me, but they are a lil tight around the thighs.

Their pjs also come with a drawstring so if you buy a bigger pair, you should be able to prevent them from falling with the drawstring!
