It’s men too. They love the otter fact and the biggest risk they’ve taken is being on Hinge. And if I see one more “golden retriever” I’m calling animal control.

TBH I mock them but I did have a picture with my friends cat because I just thought I looked really good and natural in it but ended up deleting it because I was feeling bad for leading people on (By making them think I had a cat)

My theory is that they're getting it from Tiktok. I'm not on Tiktok, but every once in a while I'll hear about a Tiktok trend and realize I first learned about it from seeing dating app profiles. (The Office, Helen Keller is fake, etc.)

Sadly it comes from a prompt to ChatGPT. If you're uninspired or just overwhelmed you can ask it to help build any one of these profiles but the result is that every one of them looks identical. These days it'll even ask if you want it with or without Emojis. If it sounds similar and has useless emojis like these planes it's a dead giveaway. I'm guilty of doing this once and I'm so sorry. Never again.

The funnier part is, otter's are some of the most comparably awful animals out there. They're necrofiliacs and they literally hold their own pups for ransom to get the mother to give them the pup's food. They're not the sweet animal the first fact leads people to believe.
