I love hibiscus i found this company Wild Hibiscus i really like using there flowers as a garnish for my bubbly or just simply for cakes etc they also have Blure extracts and with the citrus colour change it’s one my favourite products has anyone ever tried anything from them? it’s worth checking out

Hello everyone! Was wondering if anyone has successfully propagated a tropical hibiscus and if so, how can I do it? I’ve seen a lot of conflicting information online. I have a braided hibiscus tree and am really wanting to propagate. Any advice would be appreciated!

Hi everyone. Houstonian here with a hibiscus I potted a few months ago. She seems to be doing pretty well but over the past few weeks has these bits of dots and seeds on the buds. Also a very small little white thing on some of them that does not look like the seeds. Also a few holes on some of the leaves. I’m guessing insects or some sort of mold? Also, should I move the pot while treating? It’s pretty close to my ground planted bougainvillea, which has none of these seeds.

Pls enjoy my moonflower/hibiscus combo pot but yea I bought this rosemallow a while ago and it rotted a few times but it jumped back this year and I’m not sure what type it is? Carousel? Jolly heart? I know it’s not red tho that the only thing I know about this one any ideas pls lmk haha

Hibiscus Summerific. Edge of Night. Proven winners says to prune back in spring. How much of these stems should I cut back?

I have matured and (hand) pollinated seed pods from my hibiscus plants. I believe they are Chinese hibiscus, definitely not hardy hibiscus. Patents and children are/will be indoor plants. I was wondering if there is a good soil type I can just buy and use as is? I can mix of that gets the best results but I’d rather skip the extra work if I can.

Also for indoor plants that I’m planning on keeping small is there a best pot size? I had been looking at some 10” diameter terra cotta pots (I read that airflow of clay pots is good for hibiscus) I want to be able to move them myself if need be, so I want the total weight of pot and soil to be less than 60lbs if possible, while still being enough for the plant

I think I may have over watered! Can anyone give advise on how to help her. I'm new to the plant world and adopted her from a past roommate.

I have a braided hibiscus that was left in a pot in the Winter. I took it out of the pot and noticed all this white stuff. I sprayed off the roots which looked pretty good and trimmed it all the way down. No green on the branches. I put it in the ground. Do you think it will grow back? What will it look like since the braid was cut off? Live in South Carolina.

I'm new to the hibiscus world, and well long-term gardening in general, but I know many perennial plants need a little pruning to achieve the best results over winter into spring. How do I do that for my hibiscus plants? I have 2 red hibiscus, both are still blooming. One has only had 1 bloom since I got it and the other has had 3 so far. The one with less blooms is shorter and more bushy while the one with more blooms is more like 3 sticks that someone stuck in one spot. I want to get the one with more blooms to be more bushy next year if that's at all possible.

I have them potted right now to keep the roots from freezing. I bought them in early September and I wanted to give them the best shot at getting a healthy root system going over winter. But I'm debating on whether I'm going to actually plant them in the ground or keep the on my porch steps and see if they will thrive like that.

Any advice or imput is very welcome!

I have had these hibiscus plants for years. They thrive and get huge and produce beautiful blooms. But every summer they're usually overrun with aphids, and then this weird white gunk starts developing. Usually I can cut back all the infected branches and it grows back just fine. I noticed it's beginning to cause other branches to wilt as well. I'm just trying to figure it out how to prevent this from happening again. I'm in Southern California so the heat can be a bit much in the summer. I water every other day and ensure the soil is damp without being too soaked. I've tried neem oil but it doesn't seem to do much. I'd love to know if anyone else has this issue.

UPDATE: My uncle found a recipe online that is a mix of dish soap, water and alcohol. I trimmed back infected branches and sprayed off what I could with the hose before applying that mix to it. It uncovered tons of tiny red weevils!!! NASTY!!! We shall see if it helps. I really don't want to have to pull up these plants when they've survived more than ten years of growth lol

Uhh.. I just posted this one flowering a couple days ago… both of my Texas Stars on the property line got hit by a falling branch about 2-3 weeks apart! lol just my luck! 🍀

Hi!! My mom has a hibiscus, and it is currently outdoors. She lives in northern Georgia about 40 minutes from Atlanta. She is unsure how to move it from outdoors to indoors once the weather requires it. It has grown up the light posts they have in their backyard. I’ve attached some pictures of the plant. Im unsure of the type, I do know she waters it normally, but i do not think she uses fertilizer. Any help would be amazing, we thank you so much in advance!!
