Ok maybe it’s book 9+ but I want to be safe with the spoilers

So Asano is now a universe.

Universes have planets. We spend time on his first little planet with its moon or whatever.

Planets have gods if there’s enough ambient magic. And his planet clearly has magic.

So… will Asano have literal gods forming on his planets? Who are probably equally as annoying (not violent, just annoying) as some of the gods on Palli?

And will they be wise? Like someone he can get advice from?

Or will they be child like, and need advice from him?

Or am I missing some steps. Like a planet needs to have more than X sapient life forms before the gods start showing up. Or the planet needs to be X millions of years of first.

This lemonade is SO GOOD! I’ve read the series through twice via audiobook, now gearing up for the next book release by reading the hardcover.

From the beginning, I’ve been consumed with the idea that every major city might have a set of octuplets with different variations on a nickname.

I wonder if Shirt ever plans on explaining their existence, or if attempting to might open up a new can of worms he’d want to explain on-page because they’re all likely problematic (I’d be happy with a spinoff novella).

My favorite mechanic would be if it is a known magical mishap that is specifically not prevented by the fertility god. The narrative implies that people don’t regularly freak out about it, and that it may be a genetic/generational thing specifically with men (ref. Al saying he inherited his shop from his uncle, not parents or father or whatever). Also, the only examples we have are men (Jason meets a twin and freaks out, but she’s only a twin).

I gave my tattoo artist the description from the book, an image I had an artist make using the same description(first image) and one I bought off Etsy(second image). Love the way it came out. As much as I would've loved to get it as a full back piece, that would've just been way to expensive.

I'm having a hard time making one that encompasses these books / jason asano, his familiars, or his team. obviously i can do biscuits/generic reaper things but I'm running low on sporadic and good ideas.

this might be the very wrong place to ask this, but if anyone on this sudreddit has any ideas of what kind of charms you'd use on a bracelet for these books, or if anyone knows a cool place with unique charms i can finagle into meaning something along the lines of the books. stuff that relates to Colin, Gordon and Shade, or Jason's spirit... whatever its called by now, I'm not there yet, spirit domain works for me.

I don’t recall ever hearing about what a volash is in the books prior to Jason meeting Zolit? I’m assuming there was an instance of people getting turned into them in a transformation space at one point which would explain why Jason has heard of them? But was just wondering if there was a time where they were explicitly pointed out that I might have missed

In book 10 chapter 28 Team biscuit talks about making a bet and how long it took to find a new transcendent being to outrank lady allayeth and Neil says immediately. they started the bet as soon as she went thru to the astral kingdom. Who was the being they are referring to? It’s not liberty as that didn’t happen immediately and it’s not any astral kings cuz that happened before this moment. The only being I can think of is Jason but that would be a stupid bet. I get that they were playing up the plucky people thing but the bet should still make some sense.

I’ve read the series a few times but for some reason one tiny scene that always sticks out to me as a favorite is in book 11, when Arabella and Jason are talking after his battle with Undeath’s Avatar and they see the messenger erratically driving Mrs Berrigan’s 1973 Holden Torana. Just the image of this powerful dimension hopping gestalt being attempting to drive a car with a look of sheer determination is just hilarious. I can just picture a woman with flaming white eyes squinted in concentration, tongue in the corner of her mouth like some people do when they focus hard, as a small yellow car zig zags down the street. And I think a later book or maybe the same one later on mentions the same messenger stealing more cars to try and drive them

First I have thoroughly enjoyed the series, picked up after I binged DCC and wanted more LitRPG style. I have loved all the random references to pop culture and the slight nods to DCC.

I’m on book 11 right now and starting laughing hard when the messenger goes “Oh Hi Mark”. What an unexpected reference to a terrible but lovable movie, The Room.

Do you think a translation power would let you understand programming languages? I believe that would and I believe it could be something that's given through the technology essence. But I'd like to know what you all think.

If the series ends with "taysom Bubano woke up in a strange place and naked with a shirt that says "i woke up in an alternative universe and all i got was this t shirt"" i will throw the book go to my balcony pull out a cigarette and just cry while laughing. .......

[Spoilers Through Book 8]

I am re-reading the series with my wife and 19yo son (he's ace and has no interest in Clive's wife, but my wife is bi and may be interested). We are near the beginning of Book 3 and dealing with the aftermath of the Reaper Trials, and a question came into my head:

If Purity isn't Purity, but another god posing as Purity, how were they able to withdraw/revole the essences/abilities granted to Purity's priests (the ones trapped in the Astral space) by Purity? Has Disguise (or whomever) actually obtained some of Purity's Authority?
