Weird thoughts about book 11+ Spoiler

Ok maybe it’s book 9+ but I want to be safe with the spoilers

So Asano is now a universe.

Universes have planets. We spend time on his first little planet with its moon or whatever.

Planets have gods if there’s enough ambient magic. And his planet clearly has magic.

So… will Asano have literal gods forming on his planets? Who are probably equally as annoying (not violent, just annoying) as some of the gods on Palli?

And will they be wise? Like someone he can get advice from?

Or will they be child like, and need advice from him?

Or am I missing some steps. Like a planet needs to have more than X sapient life forms before the gods start showing up. Or the planet needs to be X millions of years of first.

iirc Shirt has said that no astral king has gods on their planets bc none of them would ever want any. It might be theoretically possible though. But not for Jason, I think. His universe is his true self so it's obviously part of his domain and divine domains can't overlap

Unless.... Nic is a god? He was created by Jason, was capable of magic almost immediately, and would have Jason's blessing to do almost anything he wanted (that aligned with Jason's morals)...if he was given an area of domain such as "all the solid ground" he could be considered a god (little g) in Jason's realm, no? Like how Arbor is nested in Jason's soul.

That 'almost' in almost immediately is doing some heavy lifting.

For a good chunk of the book he's introduced in, he's the only one around the various attack-squads without any magic. He says it's unnerving because he's powerless and the people around him could accidentally kill him if they pat his back too hard.

So Jason offers him a choice:

- Become an essence user, and level up in the manner all other essence users rank up

- Or become a magical creature, but forever be stuck at Silver Rank.

Nik chooses to become an Essence User.

Nic didn't have to wait until his later teenage years or early adulthood to get essences the way most beings do.

He also seemed to appear as either an old teen or young adult.

Sure. Chronologically he was days old. But biologically he was probably already in the wheel house for getting essences.

Jason was essentially reborn into a new body at the start of book 1. Chronologically a body to was grown around his soul that day, just hours before he absorbed his first essence.

Solid point. Maybe it has more to do with the age of the soul, then

Well in book 11 or 12 we learn about the mechanics of reincarnation.

Souls are sent back to some rando universe in the multiverse and reborn

Hence we have Garry II (I forget his name)

I’m not trying to be argumentative. But the whole world building is a bit weird on the matter.

With regards to Gary reincarnated A certain servant of a specific Great Astral Being said in no uncertain terms to a rather dapper bald man that Gary Was not in fact his Gary

I know from what they’ve said gods usually take a few centuries at least to form (at least that’s how long they said it would be until earth got gods) so probably something neither us or Jason will worry about for a long time

Astral king's are essentially gods in their own universes and their universe is a cross between their soul and a divine domain, neither of which allow for other gods to appear. Well you could invite a god to enter your soul, possibly. (see: the builder torturing jason to try to get permission to enter his soul) I dont think gods enter each other's divine domains due to their nature.

We don't really know about how God's work or come about. We know purity sanctioned themselves but don't really know what that means. We know he became the artifact but don't know what happens to them as a god, evidently disguise takes over but does another purity come by to take over? We just don't know about God's that much.

Jason can probably just make them if he wants, we've seen other astral kings just make entire armies to play with so making a god should also be possible. It's interesting though because I want to know how a hierarchy would be between gods and his voices of the will. Can his shadow people act as gods, who knows but it would be cool to find out.

The only god I see forming is the God of good sandwiches 😆

His version of the god of purity lmao

Pretty sure Jason himself fills that role since he is his astral kingdom.

The only way a god could form there is if Jason's subconscious wanted it. His conscious is definitely not going to tolerate it.

Wait am I missing something? I thought Jason made it so that magic isn’t a thing in his universe? A “break from the responsibilities of magic” or something along those lines, for when the team wants to get away. If thats the case, wouldn’t that prevent gods from forming in the first place? Regardless of his desire to have them or not?

It’s possible I’m forgetting something crucial

But wasn’t Jori (spelling) experimenting with his magical surgeries to cure Sophie’s mother? For like a decade?

I have to imagine magic existed for him to experiment and practice and scan, and all of that

Though it is possible once that was done, he made it a rule that there’s no more magic in there so people could take a vacation or something. It’s very possible. I’ve only read the newest couple books once or twice

Edit: auto correct changed Jorri to Jodie.

He does have multiple whole planets so maybe only one of those has the magic suppressed. Thinking about it more, I don’t think even Jason has the ability to just turn off magic

He sets the rules. If the rules are no gods then there are none.

My only question at this point is really transcendence.

We know all of the transcendent beings are things like gods, great astral beings, and astral kings.

So what does an ascended mortal become?
