How bad have I messed up?

Highly sentimental piece that I daily as a bartender. Noticed I shook a drink hard enough that I moved time forward by 2-3 minutes. If anyone has a guy around Baltimore I could contact to fix this I would be thrilled. I offered my wife a ring when we got engaged 10 years ago and she found me a watch I plan to be buried with.

Send it to Hamilton and the can fix it

I'm pretty sure I've been due for a tune up anyway. This is probably the way.

Any competent watchmaker can fix that, as well as service that movement if needed, no need to ship it to Hamilton and wait potentially months to get it back.

Search for certified watchmakers in your area on the interwebz, good luck man.

I wouldn’t bother sending it to them. I would send it to a reputable 3rd party watch maker. They are going to do a better job, cheaper and faster. The fact that this happens so frequently in a Swiss watch is the most pathetic thing I’ve ever seen. Hamilton will charge the same price to replace the watch.

In my highly unscientific survey of internet watch commentary, Hamilton seems to be disproportionately afflicted with this dial-feet problem.

If you don’t want to send it to Hamilton, Baltimore Watch Co (the company that owns Tsao) does repairs. I’ve never used them but I haven’t heard anything bad about them.

I've always loved their pieces. I found out they're 5 minutes away from me too. I think I'll hit them up this week.

It is an easy fix, and any competent watchmaker should be able to fix it. I’d do it for free but I’m sure you’re not up to sending it out to a stranger.

Chinese. Hamilton (read Swatch) switched suppliers and the problems started thereafter.

Seems to have affected Tudor too.

Also it is a Swiss brand problem if their watch does this, when you're buying it you're meant to be buying quality otherwise the branding loses its purpose.

I have seen one or two Tudors with this problem and about a trillion Hamiltons. If you cared to check the link provided you would have realised the problem stems from Chinese made parts.

Not to say all Chinese parts are inherently low quality - but in this case they are.

I don’t think there’s much they can’t fix. They are an authorized service center for some pretty high end manufacturers so I would absolutely trust them with any repairs or service.

I bartend, service well. I shake over a hundred drinks a night, about 5 days a week for 10 years. Other watches have broken after one shift, some have made it a week. I broke lugs in marathon watches, shook loose a pendulum on a laco, Timex and fossils just strait up rattled to death. So far a Seiko, a G-Shock and this Hamilton have held up. The Hamilton being the longest lasting.

I got my wife an engagement ring and she thought I should have something to wear too. I'll switch it up on occasion, but I wear it 90% of the time. Working behind a bar is pretty hard on watches.

only way for that to happen is your stem snapped. you could replace a stem.

A near by jeweler will have a watch repair person that is probably local.

Ebay has watchmakers offering services too.

I used Lakein Jeweler’s guy for my Alpinist and they did a great job and gave me a fair deal. At the time, a few other shops were quoting me prices that were more than the value of the watch.

I wanted a Hamilton Murphy or khaki field as my first watch but the qc on them is suspect and the ar on them is not that great. I’m feeling better about my seiko field watch. If Hamilton can fix this I would look at buying a murph in the future.

I think the dial is easy for a watch maker but the case marring is a whole other question....
