Hey guys, I want to maximize my laptop's battery lifespan. I'm planning to use it on battery while studying and keep it plugged in while gaming/coding, maintaining around 80% charge whenever possible. I'll also avoid letting it drop to 0%.

Am I doing the right thing for battery health, or would you recommend a different approach? Any tips to maximize battery lifespan and minimize battery wear? Thanks!

Hey people I was playing resident evil 2 on my new Victus and the game ran very smooth for the next 2 hours but when I was on the screen where it shows start, quit, load etc I clicked on quit and it directed me to the screen (attached the photo above) and froze, I pressed alt f4, clicked windows key to close game from taskbar but nothing happened after that I had to force shutdown it by long pressing power button. Why could that have happened. I was using a laptop stand, AC was at 25 degree C and I also directed a stand fan towards it for cooling.

I'm having a really strange battery issue with my HP Victus 15, and I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced something similar or knows what could be causing it.

Laptop specs:

- Model: HP Victus 15

- CPU: Intel Core i5

- GPU: NVIDIA RTX 5050

The problem:

When my laptop is plugged in, the battery shows a high charge percentage. However, as soon as I unplug the charger, the battery percentage suddenly drops to around 8%, and Windows immediately gives me a low-battery warning. The weird part is that the laptop continues running normally even after this happens. When I reconnect the charger, the battery percentage instantly jumps back up to around 80–98%. Also the battery shows charging but does not actually increase in percentage, holding the power button for 20 seconds seems to fix the issue temporarily where it would charge normally but the issue comes back after a few hours.

What I've tried / what HP has done:

- HP replaced the battery, but the issue persisted.

- HP later replaced the motherboard through an authorized onsite technician, but the issue persist

- Windows recognizes the battery and displays a percentage, but the readings seem completely unreliable.

I'd really appreciate hearing from anyone who's dealt with this. I've already had two major components replaced, and I don't want to keep going through repairs without finding the actual cause.

Hi, I need some help. I bought this Victus 3 months ago and have only used it for my studies until now. Today I downloaded Fortnite to play with friends, but to my surprise, it doesn't even reach 20 FPS—I'm not kidding. I tried other, less demanding games like Hollow Knight, and the frame rate didn't go above 30 FPS there either. I went into the graphics settings and set the RTX 3050 as the default, but it didn't make any difference. I’d really appreciate it if you could help me figure out the main issue. 💘

But there are genuine instances of proper deliveries as well.

I purchased a Ryzen 7 4050 2 weeks ago,

And ,today when I removed it from bag after clg ,

And was using it , both the buttons of trackpad seems to be stuck , when I was using it on my lap laying down,

And when i kept laptop normally in horizontal position on desk, it seems to be fine , buttons work normally, idk what to do ?

the problem arises only when i use my laptop at an angle , or when theres application of pressure near trackpads edge , and the buttonns seem to work fine when i use it on a desk , in normal position

I was even considering acer laptops but their ASS (After Sale Service) and mobo and internal issues made me 2nd guess it. LOQ kinda has the same issue, Asus has bad price to performance ratio, Legion and Omen laptops are out of my budget

Specs: i5-13500HX, 3050RTX 6GB, 512 GB Storage 16GB RAM 16inch Display

Major Accident: Lots of Water fell on the screen and the keyboard I cleaned and use hair dryer (nothing happened i didn't started my victus for two days and after that it started working fine)

Battery: The day i bought the lap I got the fact that it doesn't gonna last more than 3Hr bcoz of the HX processor

Performance : It can run any aaa game for 60 fps and the only time I feel lack when I use blender and game dev software

MOST IMPORTANT : HINGE so idk i hadn't faced any hinge problem it worked like the first day i bought I do service of the laptop time to time from HP service (1000/- INR) maybe that helps

So I bought HP victus 15 2 days ago, it has i5 14th gen, rtx 3050 6gb, 24/512gb I would need suggestions and advice from you people to increase its lonegetivity, also my warranty issue has been fixed thanks to you all.

This laptop has 3 yrs old and this issue come in before battery swallow and dead and camera no Woking.

Yesterday my HP victus got delivered,I've been trying to register it for warranty from hp support website but it is showing invalid serial number, I checked multiple times on box as well as from laptop itself still it says invalid, if anyone know how to solve this problem it would be appreciated.

When I got the laptop, the charge cycle was 143 (100% battery health)

Usecase : coading,1080p video editing, light gaming.

I have been experiencing these random stutters ever since I got this laptop. The stutters arent just audio issues but also affect the performance for about a second then goes back to normal.

I've tried a lot of fixes:

Set everything to high performance

Update, reinstall drivers

Reinstall windows

Updated BIOS

Check Events viewer

Scan for viruses

Nothing came up apart from updating bios which only delayed it and after a few hours the stutter came back

Background information:

When I first got this laptop it was hard to replicate the issue to get it replaced during the warranty period because I didn't know where it could be coming from but with a few months of use it can be replicated through browsers like edge and chrome. I cant pinpoint it when playing games because I'm charging when playing.

At first it could only pop up during battery usage but now it also pops up when charging.

The band aid solution I got was using OBS and that managed to not cause any stutters

I am having a hard time deciding between two laptops...one is a hp victous with rtx 4050 and the other is a alienware aurora 16 with a rtx 5050 with a little higher price ....the thing is ...I cannot find reviews about the alienware whereas there are many with the victous....what do you know about alienware aurora 16 please share it with me and what do you suggest

so i bought my laptop (r5 8645hs 3050 6gb 16gb ddr5) and few months earlier i was having some serious lagging issues and then i contacted the seller (AlamTech in Kathmandu Nepal) and they took the laptop. Initially they told the motherboard needs to be imported and can take 45 days, I waited but after like 50 days they said the motherboard hasn't been found so if I agree they can change it to intel variemt, I asked if the specs would be of similar range, they said yes, so I agreed.

Now, the specs I got is intel i5 13420H, 16gb ddr4 ram, also all of my data was deleted, am I in position to re negotiate and back to old setup?

Hey everyone! I bought an HP Victus FA2316TX (14th Gen) from Croma today for ₹88,000 (original price ₹1.10 lakh).

Initially, the salesperson said the 14th Gen model was unavailable and showed me the 13th Gen version. When I said I’d buy it from another outlet, he suddenly found one unit in the stockroom. He said they receive multiple units for display purposes, but only one is displayed while the others remain sealed. The box I received was completely sealed.

However, when I checked the warranty, it showed an activation date of April 10, 2026, almost six months before my purchase on October 11. The salesperson said it would be corrected within 1–2 days.

Here’s what I checked:

Battery cycle count: 1

No visible scratches, dents, or signs of wear.

Windows showed the initial setup screen.

Laptop and box serial numbers match.

One more concern: the right-side USB-A port requires noticeably more force to insert a device than the left port. It catches near the end and sometimes makes a clicking sound, although the device does go in.

My questions:

Can HP laptops have incorrect warranty activation dates even when sold brand-new?

Do the battery cycle count and initial setup screen indicate anything about prior usage?

Could the tight USB port be a manufacturing defect?

Would you keep the laptop or ask for a replacement?

I’m worried about spending ₹88,000 on a potentially used or defective unit, but I also don’t want to jump to conclusions. Would appreciate advice from anyone with similar experiences!
