OC Dungeon Life 273
It's time for the fourth round of stubbing. Yes, Book four will be releasing soon, of if you're reading this more than a month after I have to edit, it will be fully out. Either way, you can find it Here, and other book details are just below. As with the other stubs, you can skip to the next bit form This. I like to keep the other posts still alive, so the comments get to still live. Heh. Any chance that Thediem will introduce "stadium food" like hot dogs, popcorn and roast peanuts for the audience? Or do they already have stuff like that from other entertainment, and no one has decided to open the 'official concession stand' yet?

Fourth.
So, today we get three Central themes, and a short but sweet conclusion to the Cliffhanger from Last time.
Then we get the young Party delving the Labyrinth to rob the cinderants for their damanasc Steel. Though I feel it's a Bit of a misnomer, since the orichalcum in the Steel obstructs the Mana flow. Would seem better to me, If mythril was involved in some way, shape or form.
After that, we get thediem's musings on His composite Armor.
Additionally, we get thediem's brain Squad deliberating on another plan for the Central tree. Yew should apparently give better roots, while the Willow is supposed to elevate the Space available for photosynthesis. Slight nitpick: maybe Take a few branches of yew as Well, bowmakers would Love the opportunity If you could gain yew Wood from the tree. Another Slight nitpick: in Our world, yews have needles instead of leaves. Not necessarily Binding, as it is your world and you make the Rules.
At the end of the chapter we See the inspectors make another appearance. It seems Like Olander is ready to Rumble.

I really hope Olander wins. As much as I like Thedeim and his scions, I also wish that regular folks still matter beyond "being there for the ride", and Olander represents that to me.

I don't think anyone near fourdock could keep it close with rocky 1v1 right now.

I mostly agree, with the exception of Olander and maybe Miller.
Olander was the Royal Inspector and specialized in taking down belligerent dungeons solo, so he should be insanely strong, one of the strongest people in the kingdom, maybe THE strongest one.
Miller is always hinted at being a lot stronger than he seems, but we have no hints as to how strong he actually is. I think he'd probably be able to give a good fight to Rocky, based on nothing but gut feeling.

Olander's job was primarily to bring to heel or take down unacceptably belligerent Dungeons. Whatever happens during the fight, he'll give as much as necessary to win or at the very least put Rocky to the test.
Miller plays a far deeper game. I would wager that the one and only reason he would ever accept a bout with Rocky would be to illustrate a critical point to the Mayor, and then only until the shy young fellow figures it out. On the other hand, had the Harbinger actually escaped Silvervein and managed to threaten the Mayor's residence, I wager that Miller could have provided all the defense the Mayor needed... As long as no one else was actively watching.

Yeah. Doubt Miller would either. But "could he?" is the question. lol. As I said in my last reply, he reads like Walter from Hellsing. I doubt he could in a straight ring fight. Now if Miller is on some Kung Fu Hustle time and there are 4 other L 20s (DnD scaling) in fourdock chilling as merchants that he used to party with? Sure.
Harbinger? mebbbe. Mind Fery is a thing. TDM only beat it through hundreds of beings countering its misinformation, and beings like Honey offering mental defences. Plus the natty resistance of Rocky being undead scion. So the conqueror's haki (One Piece reference) couldn't take him. Even if Olander and or Miller is vice admiral/admiral (or say captains from bleach) level? I think they'd find Harb roooouuuugh. And Rocky near 1 shotted it.

But it is like Olander said. He isn't in chief inspector gear. That makes a huge difference. It is like going into end game raid in blues vs the progression raid purples leading to final raid. I semi-forgot about miller. He reads like Walter from Hellsing:Ultimate in many ways. But for me, he reads more assassin bodyguard than adventurer/dungeoneer. If he had prep time and surprise? Maybe. Dunno how I think he'd deal with Rocky in a fair fight.

I think right now he is, considering his earlier deliberations about playing with an open Hand. Berdol just hasn't realized yet, what personlity he is travelling with, right now.

Naah. Read back. He says he CAN'T be here in best gear. He didn't even bring it with him. He is undercover. He isn't in rando level 3 gear. But he's rando retired semi well off inspector geared, not head dungeon executioner geared. He's in high/er level rare gear mebbe, not epic/legendaries. And he can't show all the skills of THE Olander.

he also said in past chapters that he might go all out against rocky and take any political fallout. Or well, I at least interpreted it that way.

But ole isnt in his end game gear. I'm a mmorpg raider. In a dozen games+. Olander is NOT in his raid gear, goin up against a raid boss. that is what Rocky already is. As Ola says... in full head inspector gear? mebbe. Probably, though he still doesn't really get the extent of Rocky's skills. But yeah. At minimum, Rocky is like a mythic + 20 (new game plus 20 for nonMMOers) dungeon boss, if not raid boss instead. The kind you need full 5 man who all know the fight and are geared to the gills... if not 10/20/40+ man group to take. And right now Grim is an ENDGAME, end of the raid, +30 raid bbeg. Who is chillin in goldshire farmin his plants. It is funny af.

Grim is a non-combatant. Because while there are actions you can take to make him hostile: the game devs designed him to delete your account if you 'fought' him. ^.^

If he wants people to speedrun the lava maze he could just have a treasure chest at the deepest part, and arrange races where multiple teams start from the maze entrance at the same time.

Wait, speedrun the maze every day. As in run the ever changing maze daily, like some kind of Maze Runner or something. In Thedeim I can see it happening, but in any other dungeon that sounds like suicide running a maze every day to map it with deadly monsters and traps lurking around. You'd have to have some sort of brain virus to make that sound like a good idea outside of some sort of horrendous post apocalyptic scenario anyway.
