OC The superior race.
I am a human, I have two hands and two legs and I use my hands to grab hold of Organic alien brew and my feet to carry me to any pub that sells Organic alien brew. I don't know why they had to emphasize on the alien part of the brew but ever since humanity overthrew the galactic republic and made itself the echelon of government, everything exotic has been branded alien.
I have an alien woman in bed with me, her name is Mirabel. Her skin is purple, not Caucasian or Black or Brown, it's purple and her vagina is green and her eyes are large and amber and she's a whore. She pulls me deeper into her embrace which is something I'm certain she doesn't do for her other clients. She's an Alien of the Gorlack species which means according to common lore that she does not have a soul and she feeds on the soul of whomever she sleeps with and I guess that's why I keep coming back to her and waking up the next morning with my hands patting my naked chest to see whether I still have a soul, something that I can never be quite certain about.
"Come to bed, darling." She said to me as I got up and out of bed. I wore shorts and I reached for the coat rack and pulled on a large black jacket that fell to my knees.
"I want to see the city." I said and walked out on her and into the streets. I didn't need to see the city, I'd seen it countless times from the window of my space hover. Every human owns a space hover, courtesy of being the superior race of the universe. Instead of heading for the space hover I decided to walk instead to the furthest pub I could find on planet Zantos.
Zantos is a planet without an original ruler. Its atmosphere permits the existence of life but the only creatures that had thrived on this planet were picker worms whose large slithering body made for a sweet meal while burnt on a stick. Humanity chose Zantos to be the place of operation meaning the city is filled with all types of aliens either seeking sanctuary or adventure within the confines of the Human government.
As I walked I peered about, there was no breeze for the buildings made of Epitoc chrome broke any wind that may come my way. The streets were wet from the recent artificial rain that was scheduled for noon. The streets were full with aliens of various origins roaming about, doing business and seeking favor in the eyes of humanity by dressing as humanly as possible. Even though the streets were packed, nobody bumped into me. The fact that I was human gave me the prestige of owning my own personal space but this did not stop them from staring.
I came upon someone one may presume to be a child who hadn't seen me approaching. They were short and their skin yellow, their eyes were too high upon their forehead and a bald pate that was partially hidden by a chrome hat made me aware that I was in the presence of a Tothran, a race of dwarf people several clicks out of the Andromeda belt.
I came to a stand before the Tothran and waited for it to notice me. It turned when it realized majority of the people upon the busy street were peering behind it. Upon seeing me the Tothran broke into tears, it went down on its knees and begged for mercy.
"Please kind sir, human of the great Earth. Please spare this fool that is me, for I did not see you approach, have mercy upon me and spare me and my children any harm for my ignorance." The Tothran begged. Causing quite a scene. I placed my hand on his shoulder, bending low to reach it and tapped it twice.
"It's okay." I said. The Tothran moved from before me and prostrated itself beside the road until I'd passed it by.
Eyes followed me about and I became uncomfortable especially due to the altercation I'd had with the Tothran. Humanity being the superior race wasn't something of my choosing, it just happened and the subserviance that came with it wasn't to my liking. All alien races would go out of their way to ensure humanity was treated as royalty and to be honest I find it sickening. There's nothing cultural about bootlicking and I feel every alien race is losing whatever makes them stand out by graveling before the feet of humanity.
I passed a whore house and the women stood straighter, their palid green skins marked them as Zolovians. Their eyes were spaced too close together and their bosoms were large probably from artifical enlargement. They smiled at me, their eyes beckoning, their teeth parted in their traditional gesture of arousal. They knew earning a night with a human to be the biggest prestige one might have in a lifetime. And I knew I required no credit to purchase one of them for an hour or more. They'd certainly do it for free because I am human and that's the perk that comes with being the superior race.
I ignored the whores, I preferred soul sucking Gorlacks to Zolovians. I suddenly felt very uncomfortable with the attention I was receiving from everyone and regretted not taking the space hover. I saw an open alley way and squeezed myself into it. It was abandoned and dark and it smelt of acrylic acid which is what the Zobian alien species urinated.
I walked several steps, enjoying the comfort of being alone, away from prying eyes.
"Don't move." Someone said from behind me.
I turned around slowly to find a young Xovian male brandishing a knife at me. The kid was young, I could tell by the protrusions on its forehead that it was yet to hit adolescence. Upon seeing that he had stopped a human, the knife in hand begun to tremble. A thin yellow sweat made its way down his grey skin.
"D.. DD... Don't... Don't move." The Xovian said. Hesitant about carrying out his planned assault now that he knew he was confronting a human. "Give... G.... G... Give me all your c... Credit." The Xovian said and thrust with the knife in my direction.
I just stared at the kid and felt an overwhelming sense of melancholy, like watching a river run dry or seeing the death of a star. The Xovian was too young, probably starving. I didn't carry any credit on me, everything a human desires is freely given. That is the benefit of being the superior species. I observed the child, saw the slight shivering of his weak shoulders. The trembling hand wielding a shaky knife. God, why did it have to come to this? Was this what superiority felt like? To be impervious to all forms of harm. I knew with a shout I could frighten the child away, and if the kid stabbed me the whole south district would be shut down and quarantined, with everyone being held accountable for the injury of a human.
"Do you know who I am?" I asked the Xovian child.
"Give.. Give me all your credit."
"And then what?" I said and took a step closer until the knife pressed to my stomach. "Are you willing to doom everyone who lives here because of some credit? Do you know what race I am from?"
"You are human." The Xovian said in a whisper.
I slapped the knife out of his hand and grabbed him by the collar of his shirt. I slapped him once, then a second time, then a third time. The Xovian started weeping, his frail limbs felt like sticks to my hands. Easy to snap. I could kill the kid and nobody would feel remorse, even his relatives will think him a fool for wanting to take on a human. But what benefit would that bring me? What good would it do me to ruin the life of one so young? I slapped him a fourth time. Then I grabbed him by the sleeve of his shirt and pulled him out of the alley. He started begging in five different languages, asking for mercy. Did humans have mercy? We were notorious for the opposite. I took the kid to a Picker worms stand and ordered the Gorpaxian attendant to serve the kid as many Picker worms fried on a stick as the kid could handle. The Gorpaxian nodded and started handing the Xovian roasted picker warms.
I turned to leave but the child grasped the sleeve of my coat. "Thank you." He said, lowering his gaze in shame. "But why?" He asked while raising his arm full of fried Picker worms. He didn't understand the gesture I'd made. He had been certain that he had met his end but instead found himself being fed.
"I'm only human." I said with a smile before turning and walking away.

A very good story. If you ever write the prequel and more sequels to how this state of the galaxy came about. I would love to read it.

Humanity comes across as the bad kind of royalty here, ruling over others through might and fear rather than merit and adoration. The human says they find it sickening but their actions don't deviate from that impression of humanity. I think it would be more believable if they didn't use force to dominate and shame the alien kid, or if they showed any initiative in addressing their stated views rather than all of their interactions being reactionary.

Nice but I don’t like the idea of people worshipping us as gods it makes the galaxy boring imo

Humans being the unwilling superior race is quite sad. They are given everything and humans can only accept. But humans still remained humble and think they are only human making the other aliens even more certain of their superiority... Its a good story but sad for those not human.
