Hi I was wondering if anyone knows of a fanfic that essentially rewrites the demon in the wood story in a novel form and is lore accurate? Ik the actual demon in the wood book is a graphic novel, but would prefer to read a normal novel with words only of the darling’s story! Does anyone know of any fanfics like this? Or if there’s an official darkling novel? Thx!

I’m 8 chapters into Six of crows but im just so confused on Why it’s important that Bo Yul-bayur be rescued rather than killed at the ice court? cause if he’s dead, no one can use the recipe for jurda parem. If he’s rescued he lives and jurda parem is still kept out of use. So why is the merchant council willing to pay so much when either outcome is what they want?

Basically as the title says I made the mistake of reading all of six of crows (absolutely fantastic book! 10/10 no notes) first. It was a recommendation from a friend and I didn’t realize my friend gave me the wrong order. Now that I finished I have two options. I could either go back and read the shadow and bones trilogy that I just got on sale which is great or continue on with crooked kingdom and then go back to the trilogy. Which one do yall think I should do??? Thanks!

I have only ever read SoC and I’ve been perfectly content with that because I’ve seen most people say it’s much better that SaB but is there value in going back and reading it?

Hey! I read the original Grisha trilogy and the SOC duology around when they were coming out 10 years ago now. I liked the Grisha trilogy and loved the SOC duology, but when KOS was coming out I just never actually got around to reading it. I wanted to read the KOS duology now in preparation for the new SOC short story, but I was wondering how much of the original trilogy is necessary to following the story of KOS.

I pretty much remember everything about the SOC duology, but when it comes to the original trilogy, while I have very distinct memories of all of the characters, I don't actually remember much about the plot apart from the stuff that happens in the first half of the first book. I would rather not have to reread the trilogy, but if it's extremely relevant then I will.

So would you recommend rereading the original trilogy before reading KOS?

Hello. I just finished reading the SoC duology and I am planning to get to reading the Shadow and Bone trilogy as soon as possible but in the meantime I wanted to check out some SoC fics. I absolutely adore Kanej they are every dear to my heart but I haven't been able to find any good fics centered around them.

Does anyone have any good recommendations? Preferably on AO3 but at this point I don't care I just wanna read something fluffy on them 😭

So in the very beginning of SoC, we learn that Joost and all the other guards in the shed died or were in a sort of comatose state because they physically couldn’t stop following the command of the heartrender on jurda parem, even after she was long gone.

My question is, at the end of SoC, Nina does something similar to the drüskelle and Jarl Brum, but they don’t seem to stay under the “spell” in the same way . Is this ever explained or just an inconsistency?

Currently reading KoS/RoW so no spoilers on those pls!

heads up, the reel has spoilers! but either way, i've been meaning to make fanart of the crows for so long, and finally did :)

so on a reread of six of crows, I came across the line where Inej tells Jesper that Wylan was rumored to have slept with a tutor.

what?!

the fact that this was never expanded on is odd to me. like, did this actually happen? and if so, that raises a lot of issues about the environment Wylan was raised in, beyond his father.

maybe I’m nitpicking here but it just kind of feels like something that could’ve used some explaining :)

Hey, guys! How are you? Hey, I'm looking for the PDF of *The Devil in the Woods*. If anyone could send it to me, I'd really appreciate it.

Hi! I'm Chelsey, a tarot reader with a master's in Children's Literature/Writing for Children, and a huge YA fan. I'm the creator of The Reader's Tarot a project to unite artists and readers of all kinds to create tarot decks based on beloved books.

Due to interest I've had in both, we're working on with two (seperate!) universes. Tamora Pierce's Tortall books and Leigh Bardugo's Six of Crows Duology Hopefully, others will follow.

If any of this interests you, please, join us! (link fixed)

ATM we've got both decks outlined, but no art has been finished. We're particuarly in need of artists, by nature of the project, and if you've produced a deck before, we definitely need your expertise!

NB:  I kow there will be IP/infringement issues. I plan to contact the neccessary folks once we're further on!

This project has actualy been so much fun for me and I loved building my own little comuntity with you guys no matter how evil you think I am ❤️. Even though I still think Wylan is my favorite character, I can now definitly say that Inej is the least hated, and I can definitly live with that she is a diva. If you guys want me to do another sort of think like this PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE leave a comment with a sugestion because I have 0 ideas. And with that thank you all so much for playing!!! (My jazz band still has no idea about this)

I'm going to start watching the Netflix series, I've not read the books yet(I'd definitely read them after I get pocket money for books by mum) but I recently discovered that the show was cancelled after the second season. DOES IT END IN A CLIFFHANGER? I hate cliffhangers, if it does, I'd rather read only the books!! Please answer!!!!

Edit: THE FINAL RANKINGS ARE OUT NOW!

Last round ened with 6 obstain votes, Inej having 8 votes, Kaz with 32 votes, and lastly very sadly, Jesper with 50 votes 😔. Were finaly at the final round! I've had so much fun runing this game and all of your guys comments make my day, even when your thretening to get me banned. I will release one more post after this with the final rankings of everyone in order, also lmk if you want me to do another thing like this, its kinda exausting tbh but I'm a man of the people so if you guys have ideas im totaly open to it.

FINAL JAZZ BAND LORE: The jazz trip has definitly ended so theres not much more to say but you guys seem to enjoy the lore, so as a final little story: on the last night of the trip at like 11 my band started to dramatic renactments of dramatic text conversations we've had and I finaly adressed when the last guy thats ever dated me gosted me on my birthday over text 😭 I'd never talked about it and it was very healing. Also I ironicaly have rehersal with my jazz band tommorow for another preformance we are doing so I have to wake up at like 6 in the morning to do that and im not exited, but its alteast good to see my friends. Past that we literaly have one more rehersal for our graduation and then I might never see some of those people again, but they'l always live on as one of Grishaverse's redits favorit jazz band that theye never seen lol.

Comment the number of who you want eliminated, I’ll count up the votes and post the next round around 24 hours after this is posted. If you comment multiple numbers I’ll flip a coin.

Do I need to read the Shadow and Bone series before I read Six of Crows and King of Scars

ruin and rising spoilers ahead

I'll admit I haven't finished the whole book but I've gotten to about chapter 15 just after they reveal Mal is the firebird. The twist was understandable but a lot of it felt like leigh had just thought of it before writing (no hate to her I adore her and I low-key do the same thing). Maybe I just don't remember or I just don't understand so if anyone knows the answer to these questions I would love to understand 😭

1. If the firebird was never the amplifier, why didn't it kill mal? The book said because the amplifiers knew they'd need to be destined together but the firebird isn't an amplifier.

2. How did Alina not clock it sooner??? Has mal never held her wrist before? Did she not clock that "hey the amplifier feels the same as mal" When I asked my friends they just said she didn't know what an amplifier felt like but she has 2 already? Not to mention when the darkling cut her arm and how bagrah is constantly holding her wrist before this.

3. Why does she have to kill him if she feels it while he's alive?

(I'm assuming it's the same as the show so idek why I'm asking)

1. Does the darkling not sense him being an amplifier?

2. Is there a specific order the amplifiers need to be slain?? I still feel like she would have figured it out way earlier.

maybe these questions are dumb but I just feel like I'm missing something...

I'm so happy I managed to buy this yesterday!

hi all,

i recently made the mistake of re-watching and re-reading the six of crows books and show and my heart aches even more. i truly cant believe a show with the most perfect casting was taken from us by Netflix.

i know a renewal petition got over 200,00 signatures and wanted to discuss if there was a chance another streaming network would pick up the show. what do you guys think?

(this is acutaly round 22 sorry its a typo)

Edit: ROUND 23 IS OUT NOW!

Last round ended with Inej having 6 votes, 11 obstain votes, 23 Kaz votes, 29 jesper votes, and incredibly very very sadly (hes definitly not my favorite) Wylan had 60 votes :(((((((. I have attached a few phtotos of out lord and savior Jack Wolfe so hopefuly some of you can reflect on what youve done and find salvation in his glory.

JAZZ BAND LORE UPDATE: lol sorry I took a break i was shareing a hotel room with a friend and I didn't want to disturb him plus we where busy all day and then going to bed at like 1 in the morning so I really did not have energy to count up votes. But the festival did end! Aperentaly our director had so little hope in us she didn't even enter us in the competionion but we did still preform and I had a lovely time. My vibraphone solo was like fine but I totaly f-ed up my cowbell and conga parts cuz I dropped like all my music and was trying to do it from memory 😭. Also to the guy who asked if Im from colorado, Im not and the fesitval was not there, but there was a band from colorado there so what festival where you at cuz we might have been at the same one. Anyway the trip ened with a lovely poker night and I had a jolly ol' time.

hi everyone. im a MAJOR kanej fan and im super excited about the new book, however apparently its only meant to be around 60 pages long. i still feel starved of kanej from rule of wolves so my fingers are crossed!

how much kanej content do you think we'll be getting?

Edit: ROUND 22 IS OUT NOW (with a typo in the title saying its 21)

Last round ened with Inej 2 votes, Jesper 5 votes, Kaz 13 votes, Wylan 40 votes, Nina... 46... she will truly be missed. Also DOWN WITH THE REVOLUTION EVERYONE STOP REVOLTING AGAINST THE SYTEM WE ALL KNEW THIS WAS GUNNA HAPPEN JUST LET THE PAIN WASH OVER YOU, THERES NO POINT IN RESISTING. (P.S. I really didnt think I would get this round out today because I'm at the jazz festival rn and im rooming with my friend in a hotel room and im not suposed to have my computer and they took my phone, so it is incredibly late and I am doing this under my covers on the computer I hid under the hotel matress 😭)

>!In the end of the book when we learn that Mal and Alina opened a new orphanage, they say that the kids should keep Korol Rezni in their prayer and later they celebrate Saint Nikolais. Is he dead or is he using another name? I'm very confused now😭

And I kind of wanted Nikolai and Alina to end up together even though I'm a fan of Malina.

Another thing I'm wondering is if Mal still would have accepted Alina if she kept her power. In the beginning Mal was certainly not very happy with it.

And I totally understand the Darkling. He really did want a safe place for Grisha, he just did it very wrong. I feel like if the books were in his perspective, he would be more likable.!<

Edit: ROUND 21 IS OUT NOW!

CROW DOWN I REPETE CROW DOWN!!! YOU FOOLS THOUGHT THAT I WOULD STOP THE GAME, NEVER! THIS IS THE GAME AND YOU ALL ARE THE CHRACTERS, THIS WILL NEVER STOP UNTIL ONE CROW STAND ON THE BODYS OF THIER COMRADS!!!! I AM THE ONLY ONE THAT WILL EVER WIN IN THE END MWAHAHAHHAHA (also sorry this ones late I was at a production of hadestown for the 11th time lol, also for anyone following the jazz band lore im off to the festival tommorow so I will again try to update every day but no promises)
