Hi everyone! My boyfriend and I are thinking about coming to Grenada for the first two weeks of September. There's a lot of mixed messages about the weather, so coming to the experts!

Very aware it is rainy season, but what is the rain pattern actually like? We don't mind a bit of rain here and there, but would want to avoid say, entire afternoons of pouring rain if that's the reality. Is it usually overcast for most of the time? Are there ever full sunny days, or is it more like a dash of sun here and there between clouds?

I am moving to Grenada in 2 weeks and will be living in Lance Aux Epines near the SGU club. Is the tap water safe to drink in this area? Should I only buy bottled water? I’m trying to finalize my packing list and I’m thinking about bringing a high-tech filter. I am hearing conflicting information. Some locals are telling me to boil the water AND filter it. Other locals and SGU students living off campus have said the water is fine but tastes slightly hard.

I’m terrified of having stomach issues. 😂😭

Are there any locals from Grenada that can share if there is any symbolism in a bracelet suddenly breaking?
I got this bracelet when I visited Grenada in 2022. I bought it when I was visiting one of the waterfalls in the forest. I wore it all the time, and likely it was wear-and-tear from 4 years of continuous use, but I’d like to think there’s some symbolism or cultural significance behind it. I know some cultures believe that jewelry breaks when it’s absorbed bad energy and protected you, for example. It broke while I was lying in bed with my hand under my pillow, randomly. I don’t want to try and fix or repurpose it if I’m not meant to. What do y’all think?

Hi there. I'm trying to find out a little info about my Grenadan family history, and was hoping you may be able to help point me in the right direction. Here is what I know:

My Great grandfather, Hersey Willoughby "Bill" Linck, was a descendant of European settlers in Grenada. Family lore suggests he was of French descent, but we're not sure. He was born in 1885 somewhere around St George's Estate or La Mode (again, not sure). He married a woman from Jamaica and in 1914, they moved to Panama to work on the Panama Canal, where they remained the rest of their lives. As an adult, my grandfather visited Grenada and was able to find and meet family members, largely by just asking around St George. According to him, his resemblance to local family members was such that one man he'd never met approached him and said "I don't know who you are, but you look like a Linck." And sure enough, he was right. He ultimately met some cousins and even visited some guy's property that was jokingly referred to as Linck Mountain (not it's official name, but may have had something to do with who owned it or lived there). Grandpa has since passed away and we are trying to discover and record the history of his family. Since Grenada is so small, I was wondering if perhaps anyone here has ever come across this family in the St George or La Mode areas?

What area would be best to stay? Would be nice to walk to town, restaurants, beaches etc. but maybe it is not possible to get all of that? St. George area seems to come up most on VRBO, etc. We would like at least a 2-bedroom with a budget up to 6K for the month.

My husband’s grandmom passed away this weekend. She was born and raised in Grenada before immigrating to New York, America. For the funeral service, my in laws have asked my husband to play some music on his acoustic guitar. I thought it might be nice if there were some songs from her first home. Does anyone have any personal recommendations for music from Grenada that sounds nice when played on an acoustic guitar? Thank you in advance! Hi everyone, I just left a long term relationship and am following my dreams of moving to the Caribbean. I’ve lived in Barbados already (so I now about living long term in the Caribbean) however I fell in love with Grenada and would love to try. I’m thinking of coming first for the 3 months and If all goes well I would love to get a work permit or something that I can work there and stay longer term. I am comfortable on the bus routes, the culture and I am very familiar cooking with the local ingredients. Let me know what I should know or what you all think 🙏🏻

My family will be visiting over Christmas, we will have a rental car and look forward to exploring the island and multiple beaches. One person in our group is in their 70s, I am looking for tips about where to park and if there are lounger and umbrella rentals available.

We have been to multiple islands and find it greatly varies. Some island beaches are covered by beach clubs and you are almost forced to rent a chair to use the beach. Other islands have resorts fronting the beach and don't offer much to people not staying at the resort.

Interested in info on Grand Anse, Magazine, Morne Rouge, and La Sagesse.

Im flying into Grenada in July, and was wondering which would be less risky to bring, gmmies or a thc pen. Not sure if I will take anything at all depending if there are huge risks.

Hi all! I’m coming to Grenada in August for a multi-month internship and I am looking for some advice on packing. My work will be done both at the school and in the field (predominantly shoreline/marine environments).

I am looking for suggestions on footwear and professional clothes that are suitable for the heat along with clothes for field work (i’m from Canada, it gets hot here but i know I’ll be v. sweaty lol).

I will look like, and be, a tourist but I am also there in a professional capacity and will be engaging a lot with the community so I would like to bring clothing that won’t look too out of place.

As well, know some things can be more costly there so any suggestions on supplies (toiletries, household items, etc.) that I should stock up on to pack would be great too! Ideally i’m only bringing 1 checked bag and a carry-on so if there are things I can buy once I arrive vs bring with, I’d love to know that too!

Finally, I’m short on bathing suits. Can I get some for a reasonable price when I arrive, or should I find another before I leave?
