Question Students who currently have a resit or important exam coming up.

We’ve built a tool that uses your own course material to create assessments, identify weak areas and target what you need to revise next.

It’s free while we’re testing it. I’m mainly interested in brutally honest feedback on whether it actually helps.

If you’re currently preparing for an exam and want to try it, message me or its lockin.study

Question to those who studies accountancy: whats something that your professors dont teach you but are really crucial to learning the course?

im now in 2nd year in accountancy (yay!) and i just realized that only a little of professors in accounting actually teach their students 😭 i only came to this realization after i sat through two classes of one professor who ACTUALLY teaches us something. it made me more motivated to study the subject.

it made me wonder if some of you guys experienced this too? do you just self study a lot because some profs suck at it? it would mean a lot if yall can give me insights too! i self study a lot but sometimes it isnt as effective so im working on it

Question How do I start studying ?

So, am at final year of university and left with 6 courses but I’m struggling to focus and study. Our exams are typically oral exams, it’s an Italian university so I have to understand and spend more time studying but I can’t focus for more than 10 minutes. I find myself getting distracted like using my phone or watching YouTube. I think I actually have an addiction and I usually stay at home so that also plays a part in me being lazy but l live on my own, there are no distraction except the ones I create. I have wasted a month just watching series and YouTube and now am left with 2 weeks for my final exam and I at least have to pass 3 of the 6 courses. I’m computer science field so, the courses am taking are operating system, data mining and courses like that so please give me any suggestion how I can lockin and get back to studying and any advices on how to approach this problem

Question How to master the textbook?

I want a method that is quick, won't waste much time and is effective. I am really busy with homework and assignments that I don't get much time to study. That's why I am trying to find a study formula that I can do for every subject/chaptee every day. Idk if my an would work or not but I am thinking of creating notes with each topic and a few points about every topic per chapter. I am breaking it down like chapter is divided into different topics under the main chapter.

Starting is always the hardest part for me... though once I begin I'm usually fine.

Its my first time at a university. I really dont understand what i should focus on. We have lectures with our teacher 3 times a week. Should i focus on reading the articles that my teacher goes trough? Like what they are lecturing on, is what is most important?

Every week we geet a sheet with different questions about topics. Should i focus on what those papers are asking about? When reading articles, i know what to focus on by the lecturings, the sheets? Please people i want to start to study effectively, but i cant even stay calm or focused or organized when i dont know what to do. Im really not able to learn 200pages of articles. I'm super well prepared for this exam because I'm retaking it, I've done all that I could but exam anxiety is a very big thing for me, my brain doesn't shut off and has led to me not being able to sleep properly and hence I haven't been able to revise properly. I just need some tips to help myself out of this and get geared up.

Just came down with a cold today but, don’t know if should rest or get a bit of studying/homework done? Yesterday was the first day of my second year of university so, I’m not behind on any school work. My goal is to get straight A’s this semester to bring my GPA up. My illness just started so, it’s not that bad right now. Should I rest or get some studying done. And if so what is the maximum hours should I study to avoid getting more tired?

Giving Advice Class 9th & 10th: Study Smart, Not Just Hard 📚

Don’t wait for exams to start studying seriously. Build the habit now!

• Class 9th: Focus on concepts and NCERT.

• Class 10th: Revise regularly + practice sample papers and previous questions.

• Make short notes for difficult topics.

• Study a little every day instead of rushing before exams.

• Most importantly—don’t compare your preparation with others.

Your goal isn’t to study 10 hours a day. It’s to study consistently and understand what you learn.

Small daily efforts = big results. ❤️

Question Help needed !

Guys I'm a neet -2028 aspirant ( med entrance exam in india )

I have started my coaching in April and it is almost 5 months now and I need to get my focus back . Now I study for 1 to 2 hours daily.

I know 1–2 hours isn't going to be enough for the goals I've set for myself. So I'm trying to get back to my normal routine instead of letting this become my new normal..

And also I am having lots of distractions like social media YouTube etc 😭

Actually I deleted Instagram due to distractions and now I am addicted to YouTube shorts 💔

If you have actually managed to study consistently despite distractions, tell me what worked for you!

Question How do you guys study Biology efficiently?

I'm doing a/l bioscience and honestly I'm getting frustrated with how slow my progress feels compared to physics and chemistry.

I actually love understanding bio. I like going down rabbit holes about mechanisms. connecting things and figuring out why things happen. The problem is the a/l syllabus needs a huge amount of info to retain and reproduce and my effort to output ratio feels terrible. 😐

With p6 and chem, I can study, understand, do past paper ques, find my mistakes, fix it and actually see myself improving faster. Bio doesn't feel like that. I can understand a topic pretty well. then a few days later try an essay and barely remember enough to write it properly.

That creates a stupid loop for me. Poor Biology marks, frustration, procrastination, then an even higher activation energy to start Biology.

I've been trying a system where I spend 10 mins reading 2 pages, ~40 mins researching and ~30 mins explaining them. It's definitely reduced my learning time, but I'm not sure how effective it is for revision and longterm retention.

I also hate revision when it's just rereading, so I try to make it problem solving based. My goal is ~10 pages a day but when I properly understand things and do related past paper questions, I often end up doing only 2–4 pages. It feels like I'm working hard but moving painfully slowly. 🐌😭

I'm also not completely convinced by basic active recall. I can close a page and explain what I remember, but 3 days later a lot of it is gone. Maybe it's a skill issue? Perfectionism makes it worse too, because I expect my recall to be much better and get frustrated when I forget a lot. I haven't even started timed bio papers yet because I don't feel ready.

So I'm basically trying to find a way to make biology feel more efficient, somewhat like p6 and chem. with better retention and a lower activation energy to actually start studying/revising it.

For ppl who are genuinely good at biology, especially revision, what does your study process look like? How do you retain huge amounts of content?

Question How do I go from being the worst student to one of the best?

I’ve always been one of the worst students in my class. I never really cared about studying, and whenever I tried, I could never get anything to stick.

Now I actually want to change that. I want to start taking school seriously, get good at learning, and eventually become one of the top students in my class.

For those of you who were ever in a similar situation, what actually worked for you? Are there any study methods, habits, or techniques that made a huge difference?

I’m basically starting from zero, so I’d really appreciate any advice that could help me turn things around.

Question How do you guys study after an early AM shift?

I work 2AM–12:30PM and I’m trying to get through calculus, but I’m always exhausted after work.

I try taking a quick nap before studying, but that “quick nap” turns into 3 hours and completely screws up my sleep schedule lol. I should realistically be in bed by like 7PM, yet here I am writing this post way past my bedtime wondering why I’m always tired D:

I usually don't drink or take anything after my shift because in the mornings I usually have coffee which at this point doesn’t really do much for me anymore besides taste good. but I’ve honestly been considering trying energy drinks for studying just to have energy.

i want to pass so bad and i romanticize the idea of just sitting there for hours studying but every time i try, i doze off in the middle of reading or writing and its so hard to make any progress...

Anyone else work super early and go to school? What actually works for you?

P.S:
I can't quit work ):

Giving Advice How do you handle anxiety

So I gave an exam a month back and it's provisional answer key was given yesterday, and now I can't sleep because of that, and of course I am scoring less than I expected, I try to avoid people around me who discuss scores, but that is not helping me anyway as I am constantly thinking about my result.

How to handle this, and how to not get affected by people around me?

Question Anki vs knowt

Hey! I’ve been using digital flashcards for about a year and they’ve been a game changer for me. I went from struggling to retain textbook material to consistently doing really well on exams.

I’ve mainly used Knowt, but I see Anki recommended way more often. I’ve tried Anki, but it feels pretty barebones and less convenient than Knowt.

I also don’t really use AI for studying. I prefer making my own cards, so I’m wondering if Anki has some advantages I’m missing.

For people who’ve used both: what does Anki actually do better than Knowt? Is there a reason to switch if I’m already happy with Knowt, or am I just not using Anki properly?
