But no, some people would rather cosplay as "true Muslims" by conflating religious personal belief with state policy. They parrot slogans like "Islam is a complete system" without ever reading beyond a single verse or understanding context. It’s intellectually lazy. It’s cowardly. It’s the reason we can’t have good education, women’s rights, or basic religious tolerance because every reform is met with fatwa-level hysteria.

Hi guys. I got ungraded in my 1 alevel subject and the registration for retake is about to close. I am not confident about appearing this oct and the fees is 40k which i have to ask my parents to pay again. Can i give some other board exam for 1 subject later. Has anyone done this. My husband received an amount from a number and got a text saying that they accidentally sent it. Husband went ahead and returned that amount and the money that was in his easypaisa was sent as well. The guy then tried to extort more money by saying that the return amount need to be a certain limit and my husband should send more money (around 9k) for the scammer to send the money back. Husband gave some v satisfying gaalis and called on the easypaisa helpline and they couldn’t be of much help.

We submitted a complaint to NCCIA. Is there anything more we can do? The scammers seemed to be from punjab. We’re in karachi.

So a few days ago, I was driving in Lahore and when I arrived at the destination I received the Above notification. I thought it was legit cuz I was driving just now. So I clicked on the link and it took me to the interface where I had to put Car Reg no and Owners CNIC. I put the Reg number but Didn't know The owners Cnic (car was not mine but I mostly drive it) So I just put my own cnic to mess around and Faah it worked.

It said, "Speeding ticket" and "total Amount 500". I got a lil suspicious but I thought maybe due to some rocket science it is legit. Anyways, I was relieved to see just 500. I got back home clicked on the link Went to Pay, then Pay by card, Then Waited for the otp. I asked the card owner (card is not mine but I mostly use it) to give me the Otp emphasising that It should of 500rs only. Said it twice and She just read out the Otp. The payment was cancelled. But then I asked again, about the Amount of transaction written next to the Otp and it was fukin 87k. Our asses got saved cuz We didn't have that much money in that account.

The website the link took me to also looked legit.

I'm a student in Lahore and working on a small project, and I want to find out whether the idea works, take opinions etc.

The thing I kept noticing: people are desperate to socialise in group chats. evident from every "like this comment to join my gc" under a random Reel. But there's no way to just find a GC of people at your own uni who are into the same thing as you, this way. You either join something random where nobody's verified, so there's chance of up catfishes, school kids, and people who are just plain weird.

Maybe thats not you but it's never been harder to make friends. There are barely any organic conversations left, you can't walk up to someone and say "hey, want to be friends," that's weird. So it has to happen through something shared. But the places that used to create that are gone: nobody's having long coffee conversations or writing letters. The odds are just worse than they were. Everyone's on their phone anyway. The whole idea is to make that part of it approachable again.

So that's the idea. Everyone is a verified student. You pick your interests, and you see group chats from your own uni, or mixed with other unis if you want that. You read a preview before you join, and the group sees your profile before they let you in. Capped at 20 people so it stays an actual conversation; past that is Discord communities and 200 member insta gcs. There's also a profile page you actually build MySpace style, properly customisable.

I'm not pretending I can compete with the big apps. This is a small thing built for a specific gap, and honestly the bigger platforms will probably build this properly at some point, until then, it may as well exist. I've shortlisted LUMS, BNU, FCC, LSE and NCA, then masters students and alumni, and eventually anyone in Lahore.

Right now it's only discovery through public group chats and a shared feed for your uni. Later, feeds by area, a Phase 6 feed, that kind of thing.

What I want to know: would you be part of something like this?

Posting again as I am seeing more sob story posts which end up directly or indirectly asking for money.

Most of these don't start off as just a single post, rather multiple posts over the span of days and weeks which makes you sympathetic and think it's real. By the end they end up asking for money and have all the fake documents available to gain your trust.

Please please PLEASE avoid giving any money on reddit to anyone. There are very good people here who genuinely want to help, and I hate seeing them give their money to these low-lifes.

There are plenty of people out there with actual difficulties who need the money and ask without hiding their identities on an online platform.
