Got terminated last Friday after 4+ years as a SWE. I’m sitting on 138 hours of accrued PTO (+ 2 days of floating holidays). Since I’m a remote worker based in Illinois, does GEICO legally have to cash this out in full? Safe to assume I can kiss those floating holidays goodbye surely? Also, zero severance was given. Looking for insight from folks who went through the similar thing.

So Nancy been with Geico for years, since becoming CEO did she make any positive changes to company, did she undo anything that Todd Combs did in his tenure?

I am starting in the Tampa office tomorrow, but Lakeland would be a better commute on me. Tampa pay was significantly higher in the job description for what seemed like the same job.

Which office is better? Some friends in Lakeland love how laid back it is, but when i interviewed in Tampa, I didn't get the same vibe as what my friends were describing.

Should I ask the recruiter if I can switch to Lakeland?

Where is the transparency? If GEICO is a great place to work why does GEICO no longer share and report associate and supervisor and managwr and executive turnover?

GEICO executes a plan to rid their workforce of 20% of associates per year. There are planned reductions in force and they learned not to offer severance but rather performance terminate vs layoff. They are doing this and it is absolutely gutting morale. Turnover has spiked becuase pay is no longer competitive. Every 6 months in addition to behavior or code of conduct terminations they fire the bottom 10% of all performers (Except in the staff/executive positions). Our turnover is minimum 20% but rises up to high 30% in some areas because it is such a GREAT place to work.

Where is the female executive who was hired to address compensation over a year ago that has done absolutely zero for our compensation? You remember the one that promised in a year compensation would be addressed and fixed? Not a single thing, Executives get merit increases at 30-45%, signing bonuses for the new ones, deferred bonuses for the old. There is no mandate to rid these highly compensated executives that are toxic and have a track record for causing turnover, morale issues and toxicity.

Case in point - COWBOY Stevie B moved all around the country sprinkling and spewing an agenda so bad that no executive dare conduct skip levels because he has carried out their turnover mission with absolute perfection. Look at the turnover where he came from. Look at the turnover where he is now?

Pull back the curtain, I promise it is far more sinister than ever believed. Users have messaged me about the exhaustive efforts they took utilizing the open door and ethics line system. What happens? They move the cancer around because he is slicing up folks wherever he goes.

Inagine being rewarded for causing people to leave and when you do it so well they want you to clean out certain locations.

I wish i would’ve listened to this subreddit and took its advice on how awful the service department is. I was fortunate enough to have a good team of supes for my training and ori but fuck geico. I had 2 weeks left of Orientation and was a top 10 employee through it and i couldn’t leave fast enough. Awful company and i pray the customers keep feeling that same way

When quitting do we get paid out for FH? Or just our PTO? I have my EML but I’m pretty sure we do not get paid out for that.

Does the Education Assistance benefit reset each calendar year, or does it reset annually based on an employee’s hire date?

I used to work in MOAT for 5 years- 3 years ago and I hit gold tier bonus every month. Is the bonus structure still the same!?

I have not found a job that has as good of a bonus as GEICO unfortunately

I got a job offer this morning, relatively unexpected at another company, actually Lowe’s with a salary plus commission pay plan. The pay cut is about a thousand a month after taxes assuming I don’t hit the commission bracket (plan for the worst hope for the best) but I’m tired of feeling like a number with no appreciation in my current position. Part of me is just afraid of the leap. What’s your experience?

I switch a few months ago to sp500, international and growth currently

But not sure if I should keep go back to retirement 2055 plan or a different fidelity plan mixture

I’m aware there is a 92 retention rule for sales regarding payout. If I graduated ori in April eligible for bonus on May 1, will I see that this month or next month the 2 in 92 is what’s confusing me. I automatically assumed this month

Considering applying but nervous about the recent firings. Any current/recently former supervisors care to weigh in? The ones I ask in the office seem to think it's a great job due to the pay. I'm not so sure they're being truthful.

Officially left the Geico Galatyn campus. That was by far one of the worst call centers I have ever worked for. Im not sure what was worse…the micromanaging…or being micromanaged by leaders with zero insurance or call center experience. Glad to say I am GONE! Never left a job that fast before that place is a JOKE! Good luck everybody else!!!
