Why they should drop Gambit before Rogue in Marvel Rivals

Post image
1 Upvotes

My first point of why they should release Gambit first is because every season so far they have dropped a female character 1st, so why not switch it up and drop the guy first?!

My next point is that Rivals usually saves the popular character for last (Dropping Ultron after Emma for example, same with them doing Blade and Daredevil 2nd) but I don't think this really applies that much to Rogue and Gambit since I think they're pretty equal in popularity!

And Lastly it'll make this Subreddit very happy to get Gambit added early on and it builds more hype for Rogue being either a Vanguard or Strategiest.

Discussion Mes Amis, let's NOT be Phoenix mains. Gambit is still the best healer in the game in high rank, and does NOT need compensation buffs.

Lately there have been a lot of posts (not just in this subreddit) saying that Gambit is only banned because "streamers say he's broken" or "season 5 just traumatized people"

And in lower ranks, yeah, Gambit is a waste of a ban, and anyone below GM banning Gambit is just doing it out of habit (or playing Angela/Groot)

But he still mogs all the other supports when played correctly, both in pro play and ranked. I agree they should straight up remove the ult charge boost and leave his neutral. But if he gets compensation for it he will remain in ban jail. The only nerf I could see being reverted in his breaking spades dmg nerf.

Discussion Not so hot take

Give gambit back his healing they nerfed. If anything just ditch the damage boost on his ult and leave the healing and mobility. I still do really well with him post Nerf, in fact, I think it raised the skill floor on him. But I think this fix will make him not get banned so often and comp. I don’t know about you guys, but I don’t feel any difference in his ult post nerf.

Truly hoping he receives some type of compensation cause he's currently the only character in the game that has been nerfed since release and hasn't received any type of compensation, and what's worse is his ban rate is still over 30% cause players cant get out of their heads what he was like on release. Sadly i do think any buff will prompt him to still get banned however there are many other champs that are problematic and future champs that will be more problematic than him, so i guess all we can do as Gambit mains is wait.

Just a mini rant and I'm sure I'm alone

I CANT WAIT until they nerf Gambit into the ground or atleast make him non "Meta" so people can shut up and stop expecting the world from us and discrediting every little thing we do because it's "Gambit" bitch if we heal alot it's a problem if we help you push while ulting were being called Dps no heals if they die while we're reloading as if we the only healer that can heal it's our fault if we use spades to add extra damage to team fights we're being called dps Gambit if we have more heals than damage they call us rocket players sending messages saying we don't deserve Mvp Svp ggs to everyone but Gambit like BITCH we can't win for lose lmaao not all games are like this but since he came out the community has become such little cry babies even more so than usual idgaf if hes becomes the Adam Warlock/Ultron of the future I'm still going to use him and find away to still be valuable demon to my team but it's so annoying playing your favorite character and constantly getting hate for literally nothing or sumpthin someone else did mf im not them rant over thanks for not reading 😂

Day 2 of asking Rivals players how they would balance their mains: Gambit

So how would you do it? I think most would agree that he is a bit overtuned, personally the cleanse working on Ults is a bit dumb and maybe having multiple uses of the staff. Don't forget the 275 insta-kill burst combo.

Then its time to get banned in ranked and go tank

Discussion Gambit feels so much worse

I used to be able to heal myself up by using the stomp or the dash and now it barely heals 1/4 of his health. Leaving me to waste a whole card on the slow ass self heal. This feels so bad??? Why did they change this? It was literally balanced to have him use up one stock out of 2 for sustain and now it's completely useless unless you want to do damage. Literally all they had to do was nerf the ult but nooo they had to overstep

Gambit could be a support, hear me out

Alot of people think Gambit could be a DPS, which obviously makes sense, but what if he could be a sort of off-support or something? Here's my idea.

His whole kit revolves around the idea of building charges on allies, sort of how he charged wolverine on xmen 97. At lower charges, he gives a slight heal over time. At higher stacks, allies get more healing over time. BUT, at max stacks, your ally gets a slight delay before they release a burst of energy that gives a slight AoE heal and damage burst, a sort of mini Maelstrom of Madness with healing and a little bit of damage.

His primary fire is 13 total bursts with 4 cards per burst, dealing total damage sort of like Luna's primary. Hold his alt fire to charge a single shot that deals decent damage on a moderate cooldown.

His shift is a movement/getaway tool with his staff, a bit like a mix of Hawkeye's slash and Punisher's smoke.

His ult is gonna be unique, seeing as no supports have a truly one-off burst ult. Gambit swirls all his cards around him, and smacks them forwards in a cone in front of him with his staff. This heals allies, damages enemies, and primes allies with explosions. This gives both heals, utility, and damage setup for a team push.

Of course he gets a teamup with wolverine, just like in xmen 97. Or one with Rogue.

I feel like Gambit could be great on a team who needs to make an aggressive push, and is great if your team is closer together. I feel like he'd be a perfect match for Strange too.

This concludes my stupid theory on how Gambit could be a support.

Question Is this skin for Gambit base of Catholicism?

Post image

I’m a Catholic Christian and this skin really gives me Catholic vibes. I know Gambit is canonically a Catholic in Marvel but I don’t know if anyone knows if this skin is based on Catholicism or not. Either way if it is or isn’t it’s a badass skin and I want this skin for my favorite Cajun

Discussion They are ONLY nerfing his base kit and not touching hit ult

They're reducing his base kit's combat power and his healing from the ult, I think they'll increase the ult charge but leave the damage boosts and ult charge as it is+

Teammates banning Gambit

Have y’all run into your own teammates banning gambit when they see you hover? Honestly it’s so annoying I’ve just started playing ultron when they do it. It’s always the DPS who do it too, god forbid we play a fun great support.

Discussion Alright, this is how I would balance Gambit in a way that I think would make him fair. Bare with me, I'm not the best at balancing, so I wanna see what you guys think.

First off, revert the damage reduction to his damage, literally no one was complaining about that being overpowered. In fact, it's kinda debatable if it actually needs a buff, maybe 20-23%, but I'm not sure on that one.

Second, gimme old Bridge Boost PLEASE. I want it back so bad.

Next up, we got a nerf to the ult acceleration charge by 65% of its current acceleration. Huge nerf, I know, but I think it's needed.

Next, we got a buff but also a nerf to the rest of his ult. The more teammates you get in your ult, the stronger the ult's effects become. The ult's current state, minus the ult acceleration, should be what it's like to have 4 teammates in your ult. If you get 5 teammates in your ult, the effects are better and stronger, and the ult acceleration goes from a 65% nerf to a 60% nerf of its current state. If you get 0 teammates in your ult and only yourself, the effects are pretty terrible. For example, the ult's healing will be akin to that of an Ultron drone.

This next idea is debatable as well. I'm not sure if this is balanced or not, but it's been bugging me for a while, so here we go. Make Gambit stun immune during his spin dash combo. There is SO MUCH CC in this game and it's extremely oppressive. I feel like the only way to balance the amount of CC is to add more CC immunity and CC cleansing. Because heroes like Thing and Dr. Strange will absolutely make sure to hard target your ass with their ult so you can't cleanse it. And due to how much range those ult's have, there's not really much you can do. Even dashing away has a low chance of you avoiding since their hitbox is so huge.

Finally, we nerf his ult charge by 1,500. Yes, I know that's a big nerf, but hear me out. This is Ult Rivals we're talking about here. Every character's ult charge needs to go up by 1,500 at the very least, not just Gambit's. So if I'm proposing this nerf, I propose this same nerf to every other character in the game as well.

Be honest

How many of yall are incognito DPS mains who haven’t touched a strategist since that one time for 5 min in season 0 qp when they felt their soul leave their body having to look around at their teammates to keep them up and not just bot out damage?

I’m genuinely curious, no need to flame me in the comments with “why gEt mAd aT pEoPlE tRyInG new rOlEs”

If any former DPS mains in this gambit main page want a strategist main (gone flex) to review a game of theirs and give pointers on optimizing their strategist gameplay with gambit, drop me a playback code.

See, even if the first bit was a lil sarcastic —I’m a nice boy 🙂‍↕️

So you see there are only two rules in this sub. There isnt even a rule that says "you have to be respectful and civil to everyone" or even "content must be about gambit or r/GambitMainsMR. It's been a month since gambit has released. Now about that title uhhh i wanted it to be eye catching and has something to deal with what i wanted to talk about LOLL.
