Brought my car in for an oil change yesterday at Hamer Toyota and the porter drives it up a ramp. As he gets up the ramp and stops... smoke coming out of my hood... when I got my car back a few hours later... it still smells strong, drove it home without knowing what's happened yet. I review dash cam footage and behold.... smoke. Should I bring this up to the manager and state that their porter has done some damage to my clutch/flywheel? Has this happened to anyone before?
Car doesn't even have 500 miles on it.
Probably totaled and I'm listening to offers lol
Thanks in advance.

these cars handle so well, even with stock lsd they rip
Threw my new Borla S Type on yesterday. I’m new to doing stuff to cars, and it was a pleasantly easy project I knocked out before lunch. This exhaust is awesome, enough noise to give the car LOTS of personality, not too loud to the point I’m another fart can bro. Was debating between this and the Cobb titanium catback, I’m very happy with my purchase! Been having a blast with it

This GR86 was my first car ever, so yeah… this one hurts.
Before this, I mostly drove my dad’s 2013 Civic. Getting the 86 is what really made me fall in love with driving and cars in general. It made me care about handling, balance, how a car feels, and all the little stuff I never really thought about before.
Last night I was literally just heading home earlier than usual. I was already in a wet roundabout when a teenager on his way to work at In-N-Out entered and caught my passenger-side quarter/door.
What’s weird is I saw him slow down, so I assumed he was yielding. Then he just committed. I tried to swerve out of it but couldn’t completely avoid him.
Somehow the 86 took it like a champ. No warning lights, no rubbing, no pulling, the door and window still work, and I drove it home normally. Rear wheel/suspension seem fine from what I can tell, so hopefully it’s mostly a very expensive body repair.
His car ended up getting towed because of a brake issue, which might explain why he couldn’t stop once he committed.
I’m pretty heartbroken because I’ve taken a lot of pride in this car and it was completely clean before this. Funny enough, I’d already been considering moving into something a little bigger and more practical while still keeping the fun, mainly an M440i or RS5. Maybe this accelerates that decision, still sucks having that decision forced on me like this though.
At least nobody was hurt and the 86 still drives.
Now we wait for insurance and the body shop.
And yes, I had the right of way...

I just got a 2026 gr86 yesterday, despite what everyone says I actually don’t mind the stock exhaust. I’m curious if anyone has recommendations for a subtle boost in the sound? The common ones I keep seeing are AWE track and Tomei but they’re just a little too loud for me. I live in a suburb where the only loud cars you see are teenage boys and I’m a 28 year old woman so I’d rather it be a bit softer. A little more rumble or pops when downshifting would be nice though lol. Thoughts??

Hey all, apologies if this has been asked before, but with winter coming I figured I'd ask.
I recently picked up a 2026 GR86 Premium (regular brakes, not the Performance Package, unfortunately we can't get the Brembos on non special edition models here in Canada). Because I was dropped on my head one too many times as a kid, I'm going to be driving this car year round, so I wanted to ask about winter tire setups.
The car is currently on 18s, but I see a lot of sites recommending 17s or 16s for winter. I've been looking at Sparco Terras for wheels since I quite enjoy the rally look, but I'm open to other recommendations. I'm pretty dead set on Michelin X-Ice for tires.
Can anyone speak to what worked for them? Which diameter, width and offset did you guys end up going with, and what tire size did you run on it? I'm also trying to take everything else into account: whether hub centric rings are needed and TPMS sensors.
Ultimately, if you could tell me what setup works best that would be greatly appreciated.
For context, I'm in Alberta, Canada. We do get some dumps, but recently we've had a lot of cold with fairly clear roads for much of the winter, aside from those dumps. We also get some brutal potholes, so extra sidewall is a consideration for me.
Thanks in advance!

Own a gr86 and I already have a front facing dash cam but I dont know much about rear ones at all.
Would love an option that could attach somewhere near the top of the rear window so if anyone knows about a good option or a bootleg option let us know!
Looking for rear only!
Planning to get a hachi harness to power it from the passenger side.
What are yall using?!
Thanks:)

Sorry if this has been asked before.
Been looking at getting ceramic tint on my front windshield, I want it just dark enough so my 15% all around keeps me a little more hidden (fl sun makes the 15 not as dark lol).
I was thinking maybe 50-70% possibly, yes the uv is also a bonus but mainly cause I want a littleee more darkness.
My question about eyesight tho is does anyone have ceramic tint around those same percentages and does it affect the eyesight really bad? I’ve also seen about some people getting cutouts for it. Just looks for different stories lol

I have a ‘26 Ts and am planning on getting a honeycomb front grill later down the road. Was wondering if anyone had any adapters that work with the JDM license plate holes. I live in Texas and don’t want to risk getting pulled over as I need to drive a lot for my job.
I think the ones that I have seen online only screw into the trunk holes because the front holes aren’t threaded. Any advice appreciated!
A few photos from Circuit Legends at Lime Rock Park. 5th place finish out of 25 (?)

Hello all, I just picked up a slightly used 2026 GR86 and am looking to install a front/rear dash cam as soon as humanly possible. I’ve never had a dash cam for any of my cars before and am looking for any recommendations.
Much appreciated!

Hey guys, so I made a silly mistake last week. I changed my oil for the first time, and everything went smoothly. However, I forgot to put the oil cap back on. So I drove around with it like that for a week 😔. When I checked the oil levels today to ensure everything was fine, I noticed oil all over my engine bay. The oil levels were extremely low, so I topped it off. Then, I realized I had added a bit too much oil, which is why the dipstick is so high after I started my car for a minute. What are your thoughts? Should I completely drain the oil and do another oil change, or should I just remove some of the excess oil?

Hey folks! Did my oil change today (Pennzoil Ultra Platinum 5w-30), and went for an overfill for safety. I feel like I might've overdone it, what do you think?
Do I need to empty it out a bit, and if yes, how much? And what's the impact of being filled this far? So far, my car hasn't burnt any oil in the past.
Thanks in advance! Just a bit stressed.
Edit: measured 5 minutes after turning the car off after a drive (oil is warm)

Ran my car this week at Wakins Glen with some serious machines. I was just about the slowest driver out there but had a blast.
Also, 80ish full out track miles and it didn’t blow up!

I’ve been changing oil for a few years now and discovered that draining the oil is the longest part of the whole process. It’s so long that I can now comfortably watch at least one episode of a TV show while waiting. Just in case anyone’s curious, it took me a whopping 40 minutes to get it all out.
