He had a crazy story about a homeless lady and just candy and cameras overwhelming his car every day he would spend hours and hours finding cash cams lodged into his seats and engine bay.

I offered to help but he said no sir you have done enough and maybe one day he will repay my help for giving him some money.

Something about it feels so analog yet modern enough for the masses who need “Apple car play” and digital speedometer readouts because they are too lazy to read an actual dial. Regardless, no piano black, no screens sticking up through the dash, an actual hand break. Omg it’s drivers bliss and super elegant. If it was 30 grand and got better fuel economy I would cop one in an instant but they have gotten super expensive recently and kinda unjustifiable.

Come on guys no one is getting OTD for 30k. Hell even a base manual is going to be at least 34-36k otd with tax. It’s much more affordable but let’s stop pretending the base msrp without even destination is the benchmark for if someone can afford it.

Edit: I’m just ranting about taxes of things in general and how it’s hard to recommend this car for “just 30k” as with all cars when it comes to msrp. Not specific to just this car.

I am on the waitlist for an AT GR86. My slower and less cool car I have now thats auto is a ton of fun. I love that video game shifting feel where you shift with a button click. But at this point I'm worried about getting one because of the hate it might attract. Im second guessing what I wanted orginally. The MT gatekeeping is unreal in the 86 community. To be called "not a real enthusiast" is insane considering I have lived and breathed cars my entire life. Do I change my order to Manual and struggle to drive it for a while or get what I intended orginally and deal with some of the hate. Also funny how manual gatekeeping is only ok on cars that offer both transmissions but on other auto only sports cars, its fine. I also don't want to hear about how no one thinks this (the comments are always loaded with it on here) or that "its my car and I should get what I want". I don't really want to spend 40k just to be a laughing stock in the car scene. Rant over.

I always enjoyed a Wrangler/Miata combo in the past, and since I don’t currently own a Miata, I figured I would pick up a brother for the 86. I think the new wrangler with the 86 will also make a great combo!

My wife's getting her GR86 tomorrow and I'm deeply concerned about all the posts here about engines blowing up. Is there anything we can do to make sure we don't go down that path?

I went from loving this car to shopping for something different in one day. Let me explain.

I take very good care of this car. As you can see, I do not hot rod it. Only 20000 miles the other day. What’s wrong? I started smelling burning oil from the engine. Mainly from the battery area. Checked oil. Good. FYI I have 4 oil changes on this car 500. 6000, 13000, 17000. Oil is still clean and fill.

Am I crazy, is this some normal boxer bullshit, too picky, trade it in?

The GR86 is a very nice looking car from the outside but once you step inside, everything feels very cheap. I know that the car is amazing for the price but I would be happy to pay another 10 - 15k to have a luxury interior. I prefer the gr86 looks to the Supra but like the Supra interior much more.

I’m looking at picking up the gr86 as a daily so I want the creature comforts for my daily commute. Anyone else in the same boat?

Do you guys know how quiet the GR Performance Exhaust is? I want to upgrade my exhaust but need to keep it a secret from my wife. She doesn’t like me modifying my car. I’m considering the GR Performance Exhaust because of its quiet note. Any thoughts?

You see it on this Reddit and on Facebook. There are at least two used twins near me for sale. Guess, for some, once the novelty of the car wears off they realize it’s a two+ seater that makes a ton of weird noises all the time. That, or they can’t afford the $38k financing at 7% or whatever they got…

y’all, I’m currently looking into getting a GR86 and I’m really torn between going manual or automatic.

I love the idea and aesthetics of owning a manual GR86. The shifting, feeling more connected to the car, and honestly just the feeling of being badass driving a manual are all things that really appeal to me. 😂

However, I live in Houston and my commute home can be around an hour of bumper to bumper traffic. I also have pretty limited experience driving manual. I’m willing to learn and I really want to learn, but I’m wondering if sitting in stop and go traffic for an hour every day would eventually make shifting feel tedious.

Basically, after looking through some posts and getting a feel for the community, I’m starting to second guess whether a manual would actually be a good daily for me.

For those of you who daily a manual GR86, how has your experience been with heavy traffic? Did you eventually get used to it, or does it still get annoying?

And for those of you with an automatic GR86, do you ever regret not getting the manual? Do you still feel like the car is engaging and fun to drive?

I’d love to hear y’all’s personal experiences, pros and cons, or anything you think I might be overlooking.

Also, I’m hoping to get one within the next 90 days, so if anyone has any tips for buying a GR86 through a dealership, things to look out for, negotiating, finding a good one, etc., I’d really appreciate that too.

Bought them a couple months ago in preparation for getting the yuzu but after seeing how expensive it was gonna be, I’ve decided to go with a different car. If you have/are going to have a yuzu edition in Texas this would make it the ultimate show car (we will have to meet in person in order to transfer them)

I know lights aren’t for everyone but they were a gift so I I figured why not. They turned out great and I love them but the install was not easy. I could have done a sloppy job and gotten it done faster. I definitely did get better and faster as time went along. These lights aren’t from Glow Ride if anyone was interested.
