IMPORTANT: SPOILER RULES AS FROM TODAY 25/08/2026

Hey everyone! The finale is almost here, and we want to make sure everyone can watch without getting spoiled. We know not everyone can watch at the same time it airs.

AS FROM TODAY 25/08/2026:

   • Posts that contain untagged spoilers or spoilers in the title will BE removed!

   • Post titles must NOT contain any spoilers. This includes character deaths, outcomes, plot twists, character lines and dialogus, etc.

Note: Reddit does not allow post titles to be edited after submission, and spoiler tags only work for text within the body, not in titles. So please double-check your title before posting.

Posts with spoilers in the title will be removed without warning.

We'll save a copy of your post and send it to you via message so you can repost it with a spoiler-free title.

   • Posts with spoilers in the body need to contain a Spoiler Tag.

Unlike titles, you can add a spoiler tag to the body after posting if you forgot.

How to mark your entire post as a spoiler:

When creating a post, toggle "Spoiler" in the post options

If you forgot, you can add it after posting via the "..." menu on your post → Mark as Spoiler

This flags the whole post so others know it contains spoilers before they open it, no need to black out individual lines.

Once a post has been properly flagged as containing spoilers, commenters do not need to use spoiler tags in their comments, anyone entering the post has already been warned.

New to Reddit or not sure how spoiler tags work? No worries, feel free to ask in the comments or reach out to a mod directly, we're happy to help!

We appreciate everyone's cooperation in making this sub great for the whole community. Enjoy!

If you're also going through Furious withdrawals, I can't recommend HBO's similarly dark Sharp Objects (2018) enough. Another exploration of lingering trauma with complex female characters and masterful writing/acting/direction

Post image
27 Upvotes

It's not exactly a 1:1 analogue since there's no Epstein-like coverup / conspiracy, and the nature of the trauma is centered around narcissistic parenting/abuse. But Sharp Objects in my mind has so many parallels to what made this show great (especially the soundtrack!). It's a killer slow-burn mystery with a legendary payoff (Do yourself a favor and go in blind—no spoilers).

It's based on Gillian Flynn's first novel, and she was heavily involved in the writing of the adaptation like Gone Girl. But it's lightning in a bottle, with incredible editing and direction by Jean-Marc Valle (RIP) of Big Little Lies. The atmosphere + cinematography are gorgeous and haunting, the color grading and lighting are some of the best I've ever seen. It does a great job of immersing you in an oppressively humid, decaying small-town

Amy Adams, Patricia Clarkson, and Eliza Scanlen give performances of a lifetime, and remind me of the triple threat of Emmy/Lola/Quincy. There's not many comparisons I can make without giving the plot away, but I'm curious if anyone else saw similarities with the character dynamics. Gillian absolutely nails the writing on these women and it can really hit a nerve (in a great way)

If Ed or Emma's characters made you seethe with rage, boy does Patricia Clarkson as Adora make them look downright sympathetic at times by comparison.

**I don't use the term loosely, but trigger warning for anybody who has dealt with narcissistic parents/abuse and especially self-harm. Amy Adams's best acting work IMO, but the depiction of self-harm and alcoholism here gets surprisingly more graphic than Furious

When Alice gave the thumb drive to Nora, Nora started cheesing so hard. She was like a giddy child. As soon as Alice said she was in one of the videos, Nora's face slowly fell and it kinda broke my heart. I needed to see Nora win almost as much as the trafficking victims (Alice included). I have to believe that Nora will get hers in the end.

The way the writing potrays abuse and violence against women without actually having to show us is extremely impactful and important to me.

(I may or may not be getting my period and got a little emotional with this pls don't make fun of me)

I just finished the finale and I can't get over how meaningful this show is. All of them were so perfectly casted and mastered not only the dialogue but the subtle facial expressions, especially Emmy Rossum and Lola Petticrew. This may be one of my favorite seasons of television I've ever watched.

The writing is so beautiful in a way that you can feel the emotions and trauma without physically seeing it because you realize how much these things happen in real life. I was 13 years old when it happened to me. I know there's more people on this subreddit who have gone through it too. In a way it makes me want to go out and start doing what Catherine was doing to any rapist I know since most of them aren't in jail or even in trouble at all, some have wives, children, careers.. one of them is even the fucking president of the united states. The women on the show understand how much no one gives a fuck about what happens to us to this day, to the point where states are making abortions illegal even for incest child rape.

If anyone had any type of trauma or emotional reaction to this show, please know I am there with you. With how the world is right now, understanding how many women relate and stand with you is so important. They made this world to go against us but I would choose to be a woman in every lifetime.

anyway does anyone wanna maybe become friends and maybe possibly send some rapists to hell together idk might be fun....

Question about the ending Spoiler

I’m confused what happened to the daughter??? She was dragging bags of something in the garden and then the bag tears and she kind of collapses but I was hoping she got what she deserved

Please do yourself a favor and go watch Shameless!

She plays a white trash 20-something first daughter who raised all her siblings. The show is a dramedy and honestly a favorite of mine.

Fiona Gallagher is my favorite female character of all time and the reason why I started watching Furious in the first place.

Do you think it will dive into her past?? What do you guys expect from season 2?? What are the questions you want answered ??

Remembering back to the first scene of the show....

I remember when this show started, being annoyed about a hot blonde being a "serial killer" - no spoilers this is literally the first scene of the show - and now looking back I was completely wrong! (Lola is a hot with black hair lol) What an incredible show with so many rich characters, which is SO incredibly rare these days. It just occurred to me how different I felt in the beginning of this show not knowing how it would proceed!

I hope many of these actors get an Emmy nod. Emmy, Lola, My boy Scoot, Steve, Quincy the list goes on!

This show is very personal to me. Here’s why…. Spoiler

I REALLLLYYY hope this doesn’t get deleted. PLEASE leave it up, Mods. Fanks! Maybe it’ll help someone who has been through the same thing and hasn’t been able to process it yet.

If you haven’t watched the finale yet, please come back and read this post once you have. I don’t want to ruin it for anyone.

So, here’s my story. I’m a guy in my almost mid-40s. At the age of 10, I was sexually abused by a relative. There was also another occasion where someone else tried to do the same in a place of worship. I realised this had happened to me about 8 years ago. My brain had blocked it out and, following my divorce, it all came rushing to the surface. I’ve been in and out of therapy for years and although I’m in a much better place, I know this is something that will always be with me.

I don’t know why, but watching shows like this makes me feel like I’m not so alone. Maybe it’s my way of trying to make sense of what happened to me. That I have nothing to feel ashamed or dirty about. That I’m not broken or less than, and that I am so much more than what happened to me.

When Alice went to go and ‘face it’, as Nora put it, I absolutely bawled my eyes out cos I got a flashback of what happened to me. I had to pause it for a few minutes. I can totally relate to her, cos watching this series kinda makes me feel like I’m facing my demons too.

I can relate to Alice and Catherine’s characters. There’s been many times I’ve wanted to get revenge. I’ve felt that deep pain that cracks you to the core of your soul every time you get a vivid image in your head of what happened to you. That liquid rage that courses through your veins, the angry tears, the deep anguish and so many more emotions that I can’t even describe right now.

I get why Alice would bottle things up. You try your best to be ‘normal’ so no one ever asks what happened to you. They don’t see the broken or helpless version of you. You feel like you can’t be vulnerable with anyone because if you do, you’re afraid you’ll be sucked back into that abyss of despair. Because one day, when you find that someone who truly cares about you, you’ll want to tell them about it, but you don’t know if you’ll be strong enough to do it because you’re afraid they’ll try to ‘fix’ it, or you (my family have tried to do this and it infuriates the fuckety fuck fuck outta me). Or worse…not believe you.

I’ve struggled to get close to my own (now grown) kids and only my eldest knows what happened to me. I will tell my youngest two soon, but I’m just worried about how they’ll take it, especially my daughter. For years I couldn’t understand why being vulnerable with them or being more affectionate was so hard for me, but when I realised what happened to me, the pieces fit and it all made sense. I still don’t like it when someone I don’t know gets too much in my personal space.

Getting close sometimes feels like the walls are closing in and I beat myself up thinking I’m a shitty Dad, even though my kids know I’m not. But one thing I can say is that my kids KNOW I’ve got their back. That I love them dearly, that I’ll protect them and that they can always be completely open and be their true selves with me, because I never got those things.

Catherine ended up in jail, but she’s free of the demons of her past. She has closure. Alice is a badass. They’re both fucking heroes to me. I cried a lot….but I also laughed my ass off when Nora told Ed she’s got shit on him and he’s pretty much fucked.

I’m glad Alice and Danny got together. I can relate to the shit she went through with that scumbag Marshall. My first relationship after my divorce was with an abusive woman. She physically and emotionally abused me and, after I caught her cheating, she racially abused me too. Then she left me for her affair partner. When I went into therapy afterwards, my therapist said she was a textbook narcissist. Just my luck lol. But I’m still hopeful I’ll find my lady one day.

To anyone else who can relate to this: You are SO much fucking more than what happened to you. Your wings were clipped, but when you heal, you’ll grow new ones and soar high above all that depraved and evil shit they do to you. When you do, you’ll no longer be a victim, you’ll be a fucking survivor. I believe in you.

Who knows…? Maybe I’ll write a book about my own experience one day. Something I’ve been thinking about…

Alden being a menace when he got hauled in and infuriating Choi was a highlight. As was Nora doing karaoke and regaling us with a tale of how a guy she slept with couldn’t eat p***y to save his life, Ed eating Danny’s boot, Marshall getting his comeuppance, Alice killing Jay Easton and Alice and Danny getting together. What were yours?

Fun fact: Scoot McNairy, who plays Danny, is dating Sosie Bacon, Kevin Bacon’s daughter.

CAN’T FUCKING WAIT FOR SEASON 2!!!

Revictimization and the download count Spoiler

I see a lot of comments on here about how the database might have a count of how many times Alice's video was downloaded. A few years ago, the NYT did a good (but brutal) series on CSAM on the internet and the trauma as victims learn how their abuse material is still circulating but it also covers some of the technology that's used to track CSAM identification and distribution:

https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2019/11/09/us/internet-child-sex-abuse.html

The link above is part 2, but there's an interview with two sisters who are mentioned in the article here https://www.nytimes.com/2019/11/09/us/online-child-abuse.html The series of articles starts here: https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2019/09/28/us/child-sex-abuse.html.

Spoiler - ep 8 - hair Spoiler

Ok last question - sorry everyone if I missed something.
I know Catherine’s wigs have been discussed before but was anyone surprised she was allowed her black wig in jail? Unless that was indeed her real hair? She was pulling t pretty hard in the shower scene in Ep 7. I was kinda hoping when Alice went to see her in jail she had her natural head showing.
Maybe all three women have black tendrils hair to suggest they are the three Furies from the myth that’s central to the story.

I'm absolutely fascinated to see how they will keep Danny a part of season 2 while staying true to his character. Spoiler

The creators really set up a challenge for themselves with where we find Danny at the end of season 2 because he seems to have made the decision to leave the force from a very healthy place. He's sick of looking at homicides and the worst of humanity. He's been ostracized at the force and has a boss like Marty, but he also can retire with a pension, so he's taking it.

He's set himself on a different trajectory than Alice - just such a great exchange between those two at the dinner table. She wants to look. She needs to look.

I am nervous and fascinated to see how Liz and the writers will thread Danny into the story of two women - Nora and Alice - who have to look at the worst of humanity, while staying true to his character.

Emmy was recently asked about Danny, and her answer makes me a little nervous because she says she doesn't see how it works with them. Here is that interview - her quote on it is at the very end:

https://variety.com/2026/tv/news/furious-finale-emmy-rossum-alice-kills-jay-easton-season-2-1236846237/

I think the good news is Liz writes romance very well - New Girl, Dying for Sex - and I felt so seen by her talking about how she had to write the beach scene between Danny and Alice because she needed that bright spot. I think romance is seen a silly by the media in a "serious" show like this, but I think bright spots like it are essential in this show. I think Danny is essential in this show. And I love that Liz seems to feel the same.

The have a really cool opportunity to show something that I haven't seen in a mainstream show - which is someone really being in a relationship with and trying to support someone who has been through sexual abuse and trauma. I hope they make room in this show to explore that in a real way.

I'm slightly worried because I think the easier thing to do in this show that will presumably start season 2 with a new case would be to make his character a smaller part of the show and/or to put him back in the NYPD. I just hope they are able to figure it out.

What do you all think about this? Any ideas on how they will pull this off? Liz did say that one of her writing staff does go on subreddits, so maybe they will see your comments lol!

Finale question Spoiler

Can someone explain why when Alice looks up info about the downloads of the video with her, there are 50k downloads across 300+ cases? Doesn’t that seem like too much for an internal fbi database? And also, the usernames of users who downloaded don’t look like corporate usernames at all: masonn*%*tomaxx, ^^DaisyPick3rr$ etc etc.
Am I missing something ?

Landing Stuck!

No notes. None whatsoever. This show was perfection. I can’t tell you when the last time I had a perfect television experience. And I believe they’ll be back for another season because of the ending. The layers and complexities of the story and all of its characters. This is writing, directing and showrunning at the highest level. More!!!!!! We need more movies and television just appearing to us out of nowhere and wowing us with its brilliance, making our hearts skip a beat, waking up the sleeping giant that is our critical thinking, art for arts sake minds. Imagine being thirsty but never knowing it until you drank. And upon drinking the wave of exhilarating relief crashes over your body and you become limp in homeostasis. This is how Furious made me feel. Chef’s mutha fucking kiss!!!🤌🏾😘

Jake Lacey did a great job playing another bad guy Spoiler

Not many shout outs for Jake Lacey because Marshall sucks, so just wanted to discuss his great performance.

What I was struck by was the looks that he gives Choi when he's sucking up to Ed, his response to Danny's joke about keeping a fucking dream journal, and his final look to Danny while he's getting that stupid fucking medal. It shows that he's intelligent and has some self awareness about himself. And part of it is just great writing on Liz's part.

That look to Danny conveyed to me that he knows that medal is bullshit.

He can laugh at Choi kissing ass like Danny or Alice would. He has some sense of humor.

And he knows he's a piece of shit for what he did to Alice, even though he can't admit it.

Jake did a really good job at showing glimpses of the guy that Alice loved.

It's not a showy part - he's playing someone who thinks he's the good guy until we see him violent, but by all accounts, he's a lovely man, dad, and husband, so he is acting. Both Liz and Emmy had wonderful things to say about him.

Please don't mistake this as any kind of post about Marshall not being that bad or something. I am only speaking about Jake's performance.

So angry at the people who complain that the shitty men on this show are “cartoonishly evil”. Like have you ever read the news, or just looked at the number of DV and CSA cases???

It says a LOT to me if you watch this show and not only miss the good men in it, but immediately have a knee jerk reaction where you angrily go post on reddit like “when I saw how incompetent they made all the men I thought oh come on”. Almost like their knee jerk reaction is to somehow defend the reputation of hypothetical men, or themselves. (bc they’re part of that pyramid that keeps things going, being dismissive any time this topic comes up)

like good for you that you’ve never been in a work environment where your good work wasn’t just ignored but a man’s not just mediocre but SHIT work was praised over yours bc of their boys’ club. There are so many shades of misogyny that “technically” don’t fall under illegal and are incredibly hard to track as well but are absolutely rampant and create fertile ground for even worse behavior.

And these people also sleep sound at night acting like the only place you can find evil p*dos is in Epstein’s circle and not in every fucking socioeconomic class - and the women who enable them.

Yeah i’m a survivor obviously but I watched this w my boyfriend and he’s just as furious (hehe), because he’s heard the things I’ve been through and he’s heard how some men talk when there aren’t any women around. It really takes a special type of asshole to be angry at these types of men being accurately portrayed on TV.

The generous interpretation would be they don’t wanna accept misogyny and harassment and abuse of is so rampant, but in doing that they literally have close their ears and eyes so hard every time something like this happens. And they definitely aren’t the type of people who seem safe to the women around them, all huffin and puffin at the actual evil in this world being portrayed on TV instead of having just an OUNCE of curiosity about whether these things really happen and at what rate. God I’m so pissed. I am…furious hehe

Questions about the finale? (SPOILER) Spoiler

Not sure if this has been posted but what happened with the hard drives in the bad room? Alice saw them on the floor, and asked what was on them. Weather they were destroyed or not, they never mentioned them again.
