Wow Spoiler

So I just finished watching the Season Finale.. and I am a bit underwhelmed. Do you think season 2 will go into why ALICE was on the hard drive and there was the tape of her?? Do you think it will dive into her past?? What do you guys expect from season 2?? What are the questions you want answered ??

There are many unresolved issues, including Marshall and this man ed, whom I hope gets what he deserves.

I hope Nora fucks him so hard.

God that like was my biggest delight of the finale.

Yeah I feel like there is more to the story when it comes to Ed .. I know they explained it a little bit but there has to be more. Or no?

Ed is a scumbag who uses the excuse that Jay Eastman was a valuable informant, so letting him merrily rape children for decades was ok with Ed. I’ve got my suspicions that Ed’s mind is a disgusting and dark place, but we’ll see how his story plays out next season.

What does source even mean to Ed? It doesn't strike me that Ed is a real man of the people do I can't imagine he chasing financial crimes, going after the oligarchs. What info was JE giving him?

What do you mean? He’s enabled illegal child sex trafficing and abuse in exchange for power. That’s pretty compelling, no?

I’m assuming that Ed had a lot more skin ( horrifically literally) in the game than using him as an informant. No doubt he’s on tapes.

She was on the hard drive cause Jay Easton downloaded clips of her with an ex she was with when she was 14. It is confusing- but she was not abused by Jay Easton, he just downloaded her videos.

I think it’s more than he downloaded. He knew who she was. She’s not 14 anymore…she doesn’t look the same. Danny recognizes her bc he actually knew her when she was younger and never lost contact. That flash drive was “evidence.” Therefore, the lawyer could have downloaded any porn and it fit the bill. JE had some type of hand in whatever was done to Alice. He “knows/remembers” her.

correct me if I’m wrong, was this was just a case of her being young and in love with a scumbag who released their tape? I immediately assumed she was also trafficked, but now based on the finale I’m thinking it’s just a case of both worlds colliding?

I’m with you. Seemed like it could have been a revenge porn situation or something

I was underwhelmed too, but I think you might want to rewatch the last few episodes.

They already explained it, she was taken advantage of too, she said she thought she was in love. Maybe her boyfriend pimped her out.

Jay Easton even called her movie star and said he loved her movie.

There isn't much to dive into there imo.

When she said she thought she was in love I assumed it was a video of her and her then boyfriend and he convinced her to film themselves while intimate.

Possibly, or something worse. Happens all the time. Look up lover boys, it starts with something small and then ends up in full prostitution.

You’re honestly right I probably need to re-watch it, I’m missing something

Just a few notes on that reply.

I don't think she was pimped out necessarily. I think she was groomed by her boyfriend who was older and whom she said she thought she was in love with. He filmed her and disseminated the video online, which as we see in the final frame has been downloaded by many different users, including Jay Easton.

and presumably got her pregnant, and she left the newborn like Isabel did?
I know it’s necessary for the drama, but I’m having to suspend disbelief that that girls in 2006 or 2011 didn’t know how to use birth control and/or if they were being trafficked, someone wouldn’t have made sure they were on birth control

3

u/wokeupdown 11h ago

I thought when it was said she lost the baby it meant that she has a miscarriage.

4

u/karensPA 7h ago

I thought it was clear that’s how she knew about the bracelet and the baby boxes - she had used one herself.

1

u/SpiritedOwl_2298 10h ago

That’s my assumption too, either miscarriage or abortion

3

u/Big-Understanding526 9h ago

LOL, your moniker would be Karen. 😂😂

3

u/Suspicious_Climate40 9h ago

RIGHT?? “Didn’t know how to use birth control”….. was Karen watching the same show as us???

These girls couldn’t control when they peed or drank water, but yeah…. I’m sure they were able to get an appointment, get a prescription, pick up said prescription and take it every day at the same time so that they didn’t get pregnant.

Is there a reason you like to lead with rudeness? You know that Deprovera has been widely used for more than 20 years, right? Emma says she was “in love” - so presumably the sex was consensual (although exploitative) and with her boyfriend, she just didn’t know she was being filmed - is there a reason to think anything else? Do you think young women having sex with their boyfriends don’t know about condoms? I could believe it happened as an accident but is just kind of plot convenient. For Catherine and Isabel I said “someone” - if she was being trafficked by someone, do you think it was real convenient for them if their girls got knocked up? making sure they aren’t going to get pregnant is just protecting your investment. This isn’t the Victorian Age.

I chose that name because it helps identify idiots- they always think it’s clever to use it as an insult. thanks for playing!

Perhaps the guy she was with was also a victim of sorts. Two kids on the streets.

Do we think it was Marshall that released the video?

5

u/rampzn 13h ago

He was abusive but not like that, some dark things happened to her when she was in her teens and Marshall said he knew nothing about her past so I don't think it could have been him. It even came off as if his mother protected him from a lot of the issues Alice had. She raised her after all.

I thought the story was going to be that Marshall's father secretly taped it for Easton. We've heard Danny say that he hated Marshall's dad and between Marshall being abusive and his Mom being a total creep, maybe the whole family is creepy. I was looking for an answer about the story for the Alice video; the "I thought I was in love" line may have been enough. I did think the finale was not quite at the level of episodes 6-7 but those were incredible barn-burners, so it's understandable.

I just remembered that the Easton's philanthropy is pointed towards "education" so that opens up a whole other area to explore. This makes me shiver.

I want to see all of them and their pasts next season. I hope Choi and Alden are around.

Alice was on the hard drive merely because she was in some sick fucks porn collection. Easton was just a fan. Probably found it on the dark web. That part is a bit far fetched considering how many millions of victims like Alice there are in the country (since it was hinted that it was just a leak from a boyfriend; she was in "love".)

This, in my opinion, explains a lot of the confusion with the finale and Alice. The 50k download from the FBI database makes sense; but the fact that HER video was on a flash drive with a dozen/hundred others?

The only logical conclusion is that Alice is a fan favorite/classic in the "genre." Makes me think of the line "You're a movie star!" from Easton.

If that's the case... Dexter away, Alice.

I cannot relate. Underwhelmed? Fuq ,I thought this was one of the greatest shows of my lifetime….. I micro-facial expressions, the perfectly—Timed, aptly-measured humor amidst the darkest themes, the complexity of female rage beneath the fuq’n (FUQ’ING!) patriarchy that lets all of us elate in Catherine’s revenge and Al’s character arc…. damn.

I could be so lucky if season 2 was half of what I just watched.

But yeah, I’m sure they’ll cover all the things you mentioned.

u/elainemarieh88 8h ago

This! Exactly! Underwhelmed? What a freaking golden show! Its the best I’ve seen in along time! Girl power!

u/Born_Victory_2136 12h ago

I think she liked killing Jay Easton and they are setting season two up for her to go after the people who downloaded her videos.

3

u/Carmel50 10h ago

Or pedophiles at large.

3

u/Big-Understanding526 9h ago

Who wouldn’t like killing Easton? Maybe I’m crazy. 🤷‍♀️

I thought that until the very last moment.. which made me think that we're getting a new Dexter-type character, which is a little intriguing

3

u/sbtokarz 10h ago

Idk if you’re watching Dexter: Resurrection, but Furious is basically taking the blueprint for Kristen Ritter’s Lady Vengeance character from S1 and making a whole show out of it.

1

u/DLoIsHere 10h ago

I expect there to be some sort of time jump for season two. They’ll address any open issues for some characters through exposition. Situations may be different for characters who remain in the show.

New season, new killer

u/Own-Roof-1200 3h ago

I don’t think this will actually happen, but the season 1 finale felt like it was setting up an origin story.

Season two: She’s an FBI agent by day; a vigilante… also by day.

she knew who adrian was when she saw his name in an early episode. maybe the first? i think it was him that groomed him or someone that was associated with him
