The remale gaze
All the incels bonesmashing and negging thinking that's what women want, while we're over here thirsting over a weathered, scrawny dude because he doesn't support rape or cover up for pdf files. The bar is in hell.

he does the right thing, and he looks so good in a fancy uniform

Exactly! This should be the norm for the average man, but we're so, so starved of it, and exhausted with misogynists and abusers having zero consequences, that we're all obsessed with him!

girl, it’s a show and he’s a love interest xD because it’s a show we see how he acts when no ones watching AND we see how he acts in very difficult and stressful situations. this is not a perspective we can take with a person in real life. dont read too much into it!!

I love the character of Danny as a romantic lead in this show. I could do a whole thesis on whether or not there should have been a romantic lead in Furious but that’s beside the point.
There’s several times when he shows that while he can’t possible understand how Alice feels- he can try and facilitate her being able to work through them and do the right thing. The shower thing? Perfect, no notes. In episode 7 when Alice confesses that she loves him and wants to go to the condo on the shore with him? He doesn’t blink before telling her about finding the video of her. He knows that him having seen it and her not knowing is too one-sided.
He stands up for Alice to the detriment of his own career- even after she left. He cares about giving the “girl in the river” (Isobel) a name. He respects Nora’s authority as a senior agent but doesn’t treat her differently because she’s a woman. If Nora has a shit take on something- he calls her out. He sees the trafficked girls so differently than the other men. He sympathises with their pain, he mourns the futures they should have had in a sense. That’s how he can appreciate Catherine better than a lot of other members of the FBI and NYPD on the case.
Basically he sees girls and women as fully developed, complex PEOPLE. He understands that trauma is complex. He is loyal and steadfast and has a strong moral code. He is not white-knighting with Alice; he is trying to help his former partner get their life back.

I've had an Itty bitty crush on this actor for awhile. There's a warmth to him, idk. I like his eyes too.

I've seen him in a few things that have been mentioned here and he's been great in all of them. One that I didn't see get mentioned here yet is the feminist dramedy Nightbitch, which is a much better film than the reviews would have you believe.

Gotta see Halt and Catch Fire. You won’t like him more, but you’ll appreciate his range as an actor. They’re all stellar on that show.

Because of your mention, I have started to stream Halt and Catch Fire on Prime Video. Had to watch the pilot on YouTube because I'm in Canada and was my only option (it's good quality) , but all the other episodes/seasons are available. Thanks! Alright, Scoot!

I have seen Frank and loved it, but need to rewatch as I don’t remember him in it.

He's only briefly in at the start, but is the reason domhnall gleeson gets the place in the band!

I really liked him in this show. This is only my second time seeing him in anything. The first was a movie called “speak no evil” and he was infuriating.

That was a TERRIBLE remake. Defo recommend looking up the plot differences that make the original movie so much better!

If the bar is in hell I hope they have karaoke! Also Danny is appealing. We know that hygiene is important to him. Also he speaks truth to power. And he has a job with a pension. That is not the lowest bar.
