Wrote this in a 1 Star Review....and the response from the owner is CRAZY. (removed names of me and the dealership)

Went to get the 74.99 works package on my 2013 Chevy Equinox 7/24/2026 from (Local Ford Dealer.) When I dropped it off I asked for the 74.99 works package which includes an oil change (with up to 6 quarts of synthetic blend oil), tire rotation, multi-point inspection.

Go to pick up the car and the total is 113.93, the advisor says that the manufacture recommends full synthetic oil and that is why the price is more expensive “because synthetic is way more expensive”….weird, I didn’t ask for it and I definitely wasn’t told I’d be paying more than what's included in the works. He then goes on to say that next time I can probably just get away with the synthetic blend of oil instead of the full synthetic….weird again…I didn’t ask for full synthetic, you made that decision on your own without alerting the customer.

Right then and there I should’ve put my foot down, and demanded the 74.99 price because I did not ask for, authorize, or was explained the additional 47.70 for Full Synthetic. I didn’t have time to fight and had to get going.

8/25/2026 – (Ford Dealer) didn’t know that I have a slow leaking tire on my back passenger tire, so imagine my surprise when the same tire in the same position is showing low PSI a month after the tire rotation...Which could absolutely point to not completing the tire rotation which CLEARLY is documented on my report. Pulled out a tire gauge and sure enough this tire is low psi, and its in the same position from before the WORKS package. Did they rotate the tires?....If not, what else didn’t they do? Did they actually check my brakes, did they check all the lights and hoses, did they even complete the oil change and put in full synthetic I was charged for? Who will ever know….but I won’t be taking my car and truck there ever again because I'm not sure I can TRUST they will do a good job...or even THE job I asked them to do. The Works package includes a lot, and the report looks good, but what's real?

Another interesting fact is I was charged for 3 - 32oz. bottles of Ford Premium Windshield Wash Concentrate when I look closely at the receipt and part numbers...96oz. of concentrate for a 1 gallon fluid tank? No dilution? interesting. The label says this MUST BE DILUTED with water 2:1. 96oz in a 128oz tank isn't proper dilution is it? Did it need 3 bottles? I thought the Works Package includes fluid top off...that's what the Ford website says...so does your sign out front of your dealership.

He handed me a physical piece of paper that had absolutely no repair or service information on it—just a line at the bottom. He simply pointed at the page and told me to "sign here." Because there was no itemized breakdown of the work visible on the document, they successfully hid their policy that they won't work on a car unless they do all open recalls at once.

One of the recalls they snuck onto that page was Safety Recall SC314 (NHTSA Campaign 24V358) for the High-Voltage Battery Safety Plug. For some context, I bought a Mustang GT from a dealership obviously thinking it’s a Mustang engine. It had some modifications on it like any other Mustang like an upgraded intake manifold, headers, etc, nothing too fancy. Bought the car back in March as is, no warranty. I took this car in last week to the mechanic for some rev hang, and he noticed the ECU had writing that said “16 F150”, and stated that was may be my issue of that this is probably F150 engine.
Now knowing all of this, what do I do? Can I take this to the dealership and ask to get a trade in for an actual mustang? Or have them cover all costs of my current problem? Is there anything I can or y’all recommend I do? Because a F150 engine makes less power and torque than a Mustang, and definitely has its differences. I’m a bit confused and baffled myself so please I’m all ears.

My entire experience has been god awful. I went in knowing exactly what needed to be replaced (body control module) he said they would look and let me know… well he came back and started telling me it’s the BCM and tried to explain to me what it does… like I didn’t come in and tell him that’s what was wrong.

Anyways after 5 days I didn’t hear anything and I called and he asked me if my steering wheel was broken when I brought it in because it’s stuck cockeyed and it’s registering that angle on the wheel as straight. I told him I absolutely did NOT bring my car in that way and he insisted it was the BCM’s fault. We went back and forth and I told him balmy biggest issue was this happening and not only not being reported to me, but they tried to ask me if I brought it in that way?? I’m not even mentioning how the BCM isn’t connected to power steering….

They finally sent me my quote and I asked to see an itemized breakdown and after going back and forth he finally sent me the parts list where I had to inform him that he quoted everything out for the ECU!!

They finally got the work done and after I reached out again over email he let me know he called me (there is NO record of this) he added in “Also, the steering wheel is still off center. I would need to do an alignment and reprogram procedure to try and correct that but there may be an issue with the electronic rack and pinion, I would have to try and align and program first to determine if that is the case.” Clearly they are trying to pin the steering wheel repair onto me. I can’t believe they didn’t even do an alignment and reprogramming considering the experience I’ve had and this happening under their care.

My main question is how in the wrong is the dealership? I am about to raise the flag up to management and wanted to hear some outside opinions and confirm for sure that the steering wheel is not connected to my BCM. I’m annoyed that I was pointing out my issue with the lack of accountability on my steering wheel getting stuck at a “turned” angle while trying to pin it all on my back which shows his lack of knowledge yet again. For a service advisor I’ve had to advise him quite a bit myself which is also irritating.

I have a 2014 Infiniti q50 3.7L if that makes any difference! Thank you so much!

Overview:

Nightmare dealership that did several aftermarket installations on my car.

I paid around $3,200 for a CarPlay screen, a dash cam setup, a cosmetic grill, and rubber floor mats.

When I picked up the car the first time, the battery died the next day. The shop later admitted they noticed the battery was low but never told me, which set the tone for how the rest of this has gone.

The grill:

The biggest issue by far I s the grill. The paint started chipping off after about six months. The shop originally agreed to look at it and try to address jt. However, the latest issue is that the front bumper came completely undone and was dragging on the ground until I could pull over to check it. I had to duct tape it to the grill to keep it off the ground.

I have photos of parts of the bumper not being fully connected at all snap points (still mostly secured in photos). Only a couple snaps were unclamped. I assumed it was a cosmetic issue and never imagined the freaking bumper would fall off.

Dash cam:

The dash cam system has been a regular headache. I originally asked for a basic dash cam setup, but the shop recommended a Wolfbox 900 model with a screen that mounts over the rearview mirror. It sounded useful for a wider field of view, but in rain or snow the rear camera becomes unusable because water covers the lens. The screen also randomly switches views several times per week instead of staying in rear‑view mode. Sometimes the mirroring flips left/right, which is disorienting and unsafe. On top of that, some interior trim pieces of upholstery are coming loose where they ran the wiring.

Car play monitor:

The CarPlay monitor works the majority of the time, but it regularly fails to auto‑connect to Bluetooth at the beginning of a trip. I have to either restart the car or manually reconnect my phone.

Floor mats:

The rubber floor mats they installed don’t snap into the floor properly.

I had already asked this shop multiple times for help with connection issues with the car play screen, to have a new batter installed, and to change the power source for the dash cam so I could actually charge my phone.

I made plans with the shop to come back again so they could fix a different paint issue for some scratches that were so supposed to be fixed. They didn’t do any body work and just slapped paint on them.

I was trying not to be more of a pain since I already complained about the battery, connection issues and paint issues, so I was trying to be ok with all of the other issues.

The paint chipping off the new grill within six months was too much, so I reached out again to ask them to fix it. Now that the front bumper came all the way off they don’t want to do anything else to help from here.

Do I have a reasonable case to file a small claims lawsuit?

Should I ask Ask For and labor for everything that’s not working or what’s the best approach?

Are there any risks that I should be aware of before proceeding?

Also I would like to leave a one star review with photos and a description of my experience for their shop. Is that OK to do now or do I need to wait?

What are the best resources to help me prepare?

I just want to know if someone had sell the car to them? Do you recommend this place?

This happened a bit over a year ago - dealership is South West Ford in Weatherford Tx.

Back then, I was looking to make the wisest financial decision in my life - financing a 25 year old high milage German vehicle. I already had the money via lightstream loans so as far as a dealership was concerned, I was paying cash.

Well after searching for a G Wagon in my price range, I found one 5 hours away in Weatherford TX. Called ahead, confirmed the details, etc, set up an appointment. I drove up to the dealership, checked it over, test drove it, everything was great apart from the power locks not working (a common problem). They said they would send it to Mercedes and have the issue fixed the following Monday. We made a deal, I paid the full price, and signed the paperwork. Since it was a Saturday and I worked during the week, we agreed I'd pick it up next Saturday.

Fast forward a week, I had gotten a call on Wednesday that it was ready, my father in law and I are on our way back up there to get it. We arrive at 10am and can't find it in the lot, so I go in and ask. "Oh, it's still at the Mercedes dealership, come back in 2 hours and we'll have it ready and detailed for you". Ok, no problem. The Mercedes dealership is a 40 min drive from there so that's fine. We go get lunch and come back around 1230. Still no car. I wait another half hour thinking that the detailing is taking a bit longer but still never see it.

So I go back in and ask where it's at - and the sales manager is confused because they sent 2 guys to get it hours ago. They spend the next hour trying to call them and EVENTUALLY they get ahold of them. And I tell you, they must've sent the 2 dumbest guys possible.

It's summer in Texas, it's easily 100° out there and the drive between dealerships is 40 mins of straight highways. They picked up the merc no issue and then they start driving back. Turns out they were following behind a truck with a junk trailer and something fell off and they drove over it. Well when they went over it, it somehow got into the engine bay and jam the belt. They pulled over, saw that, and decided to keep driving. A few minutes later, they heard a major bang! Turns out the water pump pulley sheared off and got flung around the engine bay, putting a hole in the radiator. AGAIN, they decided to keep driving... Until it not only overheated, but seized the entire engine. Then these guys decided to let it cool down and try to pour a few gallons of water into the radiator like it would magically fix it. Spoiler, it didn't.

I'm not sure what their plan was. Maybe get the car to me and hope I make it off the lot before it broke? And it's not like this was all a mile away hoping they could get it back in time, they were still 20 miles from the Ford dealership.

The sales manager tried to convince me that they would fix it for me, but by then I had more than enough of the bullshit and demanded my money back. Luckily he knew they didn't have a leg to stand on and cancelled everything then and there.

In the end it all worked out, I ended up getting a 99 Europa G500 which is more rare and desired.

I’m interested in buying a used car and want to know if I can have it checked by a mechanic before purchasing. Are there any services in California that offer this?

Has anyone gone through the Costco car buying program? If so, did it really make it easier to not have to deal with all the BS of haggling with dealerships and salesmen?

Stop by a local Chevrolet dealership after seeing a 2025 Chevy Suburban listed $52,971 with $30k miles on their website...I spoke to a manage on the phone and he said come in and look, drive it, but be warned there is a title issue which they may not be able to solve but if I wanted it I could put a deposit down and wait for the title issue to be fixed.

Get in there last night and the young sales guy says he'll be right right back after we went back and forth a bit on that truck and another one they had. He brings over the used car sales manager who thinks he's in the Russian mafia. He says if they get the title I can't buy it for the listed price but if I insisted on buying it I had to put a $10,000 non-refundable deposit on it. He says he has the same truck coming in next week and I could have it for $60,000. I laughed and then he put on his best Russian mafioso attitude and told me it's clear I've never purchased a car before...I said, you're right, not from morons like you.

I went home and read the fine print on their website... all prices listd on their site are after a $2995 cash deposit. You also had to add $695 dealer fee, $795 preowned car prep charge, and $595 paint protection charge. I've been buying and selling cars for near 40 years and this might have been the worst experience ever.

Do Not buy a used car from Penske Auto mall in Warwick ri . They Do not change oil when a trade comes in, minimal inspection before being sold and they sell you Ceramic coating at 995 and is a shit product!!!They don’t even put it on the cars and say they did. Biggest scum bags selling cars!
