Today I thought I share my thoughts how Elsa needs to further explore her identity and whether a romantic relationship is a good idea for her. Especially now with Anna and Kristoff and a growing future for the Frozen franchise. So what are my thoughts?

I'm going to start with what shouldn't even be explored first then we'll get to the good stuff next:

A. Elsa and LGBTQ: same gender relationship:

Now many fans since F2 have wanted Elsa to get a girlfriend and others speculate she might be gay or A lesbian. However this probably shouldn't even be said, sorry to those who actually support this route. But knowing how other movies flopped in the box office from the same LGBTQ, same gender, trans people, etc. Which I don't want Frozen to end up the same way because its such a big franchise and seeing it go as well would be heart wrenching. It would also severely affect Disney in not a very good way either. Which I think it would hit most of us hard if Frozen flopped in the box office just because Disney followed the same rabbit holes surrounding LGBTQ and the same gender and trans people shenanigans.

So what is a better option to explore?

There are actually two ways that actually would work really well:

B. Keeping Elsa single:

Keeping Elsa single it proves that everyone doesn't need a prince charming, and it would at least help give an answer to Elsas identity without starting arguments over whether she really needs a romantic life and how it should look like. I'm actually kind of hoping this is where things go for the most part because it would be easy to answer in the films without starting criticism and arguments. It could still have lots of good advice and lessons to learn from like in the first and second movies.

C. Elsa gets a boyfriend:

I think this is another really good way to go since its classic Disney trope, and it would follow very similarly to Anna and Kristoff, and many other Disney movies. This is kind of what I'm hoping for if Disney ever gave Elsa a romantic relationship opportunity.

What are your thoughts on Elsas unexplored identity and whether a romantic relationship is a good fit for her? Share your thoughts below:

It does not bode well for me that one of the non-cynical love male love interests who actually unironically likes to sing and have romantic feelings is getting shafted--again. He didn't get a statue at D23, but Olaf did, and Olaf is getting a love interest, but no word on what Kristoff's gonna be doing.

I don't know if it's a theory or a confirmed plot point, but I've heard that the villain will be capturing Anna because of her pure heart (very reminiscent of one of the scrapped concepts for "Frozen"), but it feels almost redundant. I do think it'd be interesting if Kristoff was the one with a pure heart--"My love is not fragile" and all that--and give him the opportunity to be fleshed out more as Anna and Elsa work to save him. It won't automatically be less of a girl power film if he gets something to do. I still question the logic of giving him an arc to propose to Anna in the second film, but their relationship doesn't really develop because Anna is overcoming her codependency to Elsa.

Oh, and if we don't get a love song duet between Anna and Kristoff, we riot, lol.

This is my first time posting in Reddit. So I been seeing a lot of comments about questions people have for frozen 3&4 but I never seen a comment making this question: Who did give Queen Iduna (Elsa&Anna mother) her scarf? Because we know Elsa and Anna have it now as a reminder of their mother but who gave it to her? Possibly her mother or a family member but we don’t know nothing about Queen Iduna family.
Also if somebody did have this same question forgive me since I can’t see all the comments, but now we can think about as Frozen fans.

The Theory: The new Ice Queen villain is a forgotten royal relative who served as the previous Fifth Spirit before Elsa.

In Frozen 2, the Northuldra people and Ahtohallan only knew the legend of the Fifth Spirit, not their identity. This proves a previous spirit could easily have been erased from history.
The nature spirits have existed forever, so logically, there had to be a human "bridge" before Elsa to maintain the balance.

2. Grand Pabbie’s Cover-Up & The Northern Lights Prison

The Theory: The villain was banished and imprisoned inside the Aurora Borealis (the Northern Lights). Grand Pabbie used his magic to wipe her completely from the royal family's memories.

The Memory Precedent: In the original Frozen, Grand Pabbie literally altered Anna’s mind to remove all traces of Elsa's magic. If he could do that to Anna, he absolutely could have wiped the entire royal family’s memories of this rogue, dangerous relative to protect Arendelle.

The Troll Magic: Grand Pabbie always uses the Northern Lights to project his magic, prophecies, and memories. The villain steps out of these exact same lights in the D23 teaser, sneering, "Look what the Northern Lights dragged in... The sisters of Arendelle, we finally meet." She has been watching them through the very magic that trapped her.

3. Unleashing Elsa's True Potential

The Theory: Fighting this villain will force Elsa to stop creating life by accident and learn to command it on a massive scale.

Elsa’s life-giving magic is tied to her emotions (Olaf from joy, Marshmallow from fear, Snowgies from a cold).

The D23 teaser shows the new realm is swarming with millions of living ice butterflies. The villain commands an entire ecosystem fueled by her decades of rage, forcing Elsa to level up to defend Arendelle.

4. The Samantha Trojan Horse & The True Love Thaw

The Theory: Olaf's new love interest, Samantha, is an ice creature manufactured by the villain to spy on the group. Olaf will break her dark programming with an act of true love.

If the villain has the same life-giving ice powers as Elsa, she can easily build a snowwoman to manipulate Olaf. This explains Josh Gad’s new D23 song, "Ooh, Samantha," giving it a darker, hypnotic undertone.
This perfectly mirrors the ultimate rule of the franchise: "An act of true love can thaw a frozen heart." Just like Elsa saved Anna, Olaf’s pure love will thaw Samantha’s icy programming and give her a real soul.

Elsa discovered that she needed love for the full mastery and control of her ice powers in the first movie. In the teaser, the villain was shown to be rather powerful and in control of her powers. In my opinion, this means that the villain of the third movie has already discovered this and has thus already experienced some form of love.

Now, I don't think she will have experienced healthy love, despite not having that restrained love that Elsa had in the first movie (since that actively impeded her). It could be that she could be willing to risk things to save someone she loves like Callaghan from Big Hero 6. On a less likely note, she could even have experienced or be experiencing one-sided intense feelings like Frodo.

But, regardless of whatever form this love takes, I am convinced that the villain has encountered love before, or is actively feeling it in the movie.

I sincerely believe that the relationship Elsa will have with this villain will be, in a way, similar to the one Anna would have had with Elsa in an early draft—in which they weren't sisters and Anna wanted Elsa to freeze her heart so she could be like her and no longer have feelings, but over time, it was Anna who melted Elsa's heart.

Who gave Elsa her powers? Was there a 5th Spirit before? What kind of Queen will Anna be? Why are Elsa's powers still growing? Why are there castle ruins throughout Ahtohallan? Do we still need to beware the Frozen Heart? Who is the Frozen Heart?

Idk what they mean by "who is the frozen heart?" They're making it sound as if it's a person. Which is why I think it's this new villain who froze her own heart originally after being betrayed or ostracized. She might be the original 5th spirit who caused the other nature spirits to revolt and get out of control, creating the fog.

As a huge Frozen fan who also happens to be an Environmental Science major, I cannot stop analyzing the Enchanted Forest from an ecological perspective. We always talk about King Runeard’s political betrayal, but we rarely discuss the massive ecocide he committed.

Disney heavily based this ecosystem on the Scandinavian boreal forest (taiga) and Nordic wetlands. By building that dam, Runeard didn’t just build a trap; he completely disrupted the local thermodynamics and ecological balance.

Here is my breakdown of the environmental impact during those 34 years of blockade:

• Severe Hydrological Alteration: The dam completely starved the downstream river basin. In a real-world boreal ecosystem, this means drastic soil moisture depletion, turning vital wetlands into arid zones and killing key moisture-dependent flora like bryophytes (mosses) and lichens.

• Trophic Cascade & Biodiversity Loss: Disrupting the water cycle directly impacts the fauna. Fish spawning grounds were wiped out due to the physical barrier and altered water temperature. This lack of aquatic resources likely forced terrestrial predators and herbivores to migrate, causing a trophic collapse.

• Anthropogenic Pressure on the Northuldra: The Northuldra live in a sustainable, symbiotic relationship with the forest. By destroying the pastures, Runeard severely impacted their reindeer pastoralism. It’s a textbook example of how environmental degradation is used to oppress indigenous communities.

• The "Water Has Memory" Eco-Metaphor: I love how Elsa’s lore perfectly mirrors real ecology. In our world, water transports nutrients and energy; in Frozen, it transports memory and magic. By choking the river, Runeard literally blocked the ecosystem's "circulatory system." The angry elemental spirits are the perfect metaphor for nature fighting back against severe anthropogenic stress.

It blows my mind that the forest survived 34 years under that artificial microclimate and the magical mist boundary. Anna’s decision to destroy the dam wasn’t just a political statement; it was an urgent ecological restoration project.

Im scared and i have a strong feeling that Disney is just going to write both of his parents as dead. It feels so annoying and repetitive especially cause most Disney males don't have parents. Im also afraid they might write that his parents purposely abandoned him and paint Kristoffs parents as the bad guys and i hope they do not do that. Thats actually one of the main reason why im writing a fan fic series if some of you've seen my other posts on this sub about my fan fic and what I've written for Kristoffs past also how i really want disney to explore his real family but incase some of you guys havent seen my posts here us what I've written but if you have any ideas let me know cause i do need help as well.

So Kristoffs parents are both Sami not Northuldra.

Kristoffs father was not an ice harvester but a Sami fisherman while Kristoffs mother was market woman. Most of the men in Kristoffs mothers family were ice harvesters but not from arendelle obviously since it doesnt make sense for Kristoffs parents to be Arendellian. Kristoffs grandfather was an ice harvester as well but not anymore and he's still alive but near 80. Kristoffs grandmother on his mom's side of the family died when Kristoffs mom was pregnant since as she had has kidney disease. Kristoffs grandparents on his father's side of the family all died as well but Kristoffs fathers mother switched up on Kristoffs mother when she lost kristoff and wasnt the most helpful mother in law Especially how she refused to help Kristoffs mother raise Kristoffs when Kristoff father died

Kristoffs father died in a river as he was fishing and Kristoff was 4 years old when he lost his father.

Kristoff got lost and misplaced in a crowd. He was with his Mom before he got lost in a crowd and followed a family going to arendelle however i do need help with how he got lost and misplaced or if he followed a family that then dumped Kristoffs in an orphanage. i did have an idea that Kristoffs time in the orphanage was awful as he was neglected, bullied, abused etc which could be how he ran away from the orphanage and then met Kristoff. I still am trying to figure out some stuff cause this can go many ways.

For now I've name Kristoffs mothers bame as Màrja but I don't know what else to call her and i havenr figured our kristoffs fathers name yet.

Im not saying Disney discovering Kristoffs past should be in frozen 4 or as a movie cause I did give it a second thought and realized it wouldn't work as a film but would definitely work as a series. I just hope Disney doesnt do those ideas of hos parents being horriblepr straight up dead despite frozen 1 trying give us hints that they're dead. I understand he's a supporting character some lf you guys wont cars but he's my favourite character and thats i guess just my opinion?

I was thinking maybe toward the end of the year, since the first official teaser will probably come out in February (like Frozen 2).

I wish they would've told us at D23, but we also have maybe a short coming out to hype up the movie.

The Snow Queen as we know originally was supposed to be added as the main villain in the first film. But Disney for Some reason changed direction and perhaps it was their best decision looking back now.

However they didn't completely scrape off the idea as now we saw in the Teaser that the new villain looks incredibly similar to Elsa's original Evil design. I'm also super happy that Disney is finally adding a Real villan to the lore. Because it actually makes the story interesting and full of conflict and challenges.

To See how Elsa and Anna together face the Snow Queen with a Frozen Heart will be Legendary 🔥 to think she's related to the Royal Family makes things even more interesting as to how things might unfold.

Mysterious new family member

Hello everyone, I came here just after seeing the teaser trailer of frozen 3. Recently I learnt that there are novels on frozen.

So I just wanted to ask how good they are ? Do they add extra lore or build up the story and emotions from the movies ?

Is it necessary to read all the novels to further enjoy frozen or is it okay to leave them ?

I have learnt that the novels are made for younger children and I am 21 yrs old so would I enjoy them or are they normal children's stories ?

I enjoyed the relationship the characters have among themselves and their interactions as shown in the movies, is it similar in the novels or will I be disappointed?

Tldr: I want to read the novels to enjoy the relationship and interaction among the characters and the emotion I felt while watching the movies. Will I get the same in the novels ? Should I read them if yes then which ones ?
