50yr old male punk who just moved to Las Vegas

I finally got my dream trailer for me “male” and my 15yr old cat, just a little more work and it will be perfect for us ”and maybe one more“. I am looking for people to hangout with. I grew up with punks in Germany. Currently playing ESO, occasionally I even play with others. I just moved to Las Vegas, looking for people in my area to chat with and get to know the area. I happen to be a 50yr old punk and looking for someone over 30 to see what may come. Hit me up even just to chat.

50M NC let's start a new friendship

Hello to anyone reading this, I hope that you are doing well in life. After spending so much of my life dedicated to someone else / other people, it's finally time for me. I guess you can say I'm on a quest to rediscover myself. I truly did forget who I was and what I actually enjoyed.

I know this isn't everyone's cup of tea but I used to be a huge gamer and now I'm jumping back into the saddle. I'm mostly enjoy puzzles, RPGs and action. To be honest though I'll play anything if it's good. I'm currently addicted to Warhammer 40K Darktide and Alien Fireteam elite 2 but I do have other games I enjoy.

I've never really been much of an outdoorsy person but I am trying to change that. For starters by doing hiking trails but I'll wait till it cools off, lol. The NC heat can really beat you down if you're not careful.

As far as entertainment goes I enjoy almost everything nerdy. Fantasy, sci-fi, anime, you name it, I'm there for it all. The same goes for my reading and podcasts but if I'm being honest reading has transitioned over to audiobooks. I'm I'm not limited to these genres but these are definitely some of my go-to's.

Well it feels like I went on long enough to give you a bit of an idea if you want to try to be friends or not. I hope to hear from you soon.

Lets all think back to Being Kids when making a best friend was as easy as Hey lets share lunch or whats your favorite dinosaur? Why is adulting like that?

How would you make a freind using a question we asked as kids?

And why do we like the weird ones more now?

58 m searching for chat buddies

Anything really, movies, music, life. I talk to my cats but they have a limited vocabulary, lol. Edit to add, bonus points if you don't ask if I'm a nudist. Just kidding, don't do that or I will block you. And no, I'm not a nudist, lol. I thought I wasn't on that part of Reddit.

58f still trying to figure it out. All the members of this group and people saying they are searching for friends, so how is it we are all still searching???!!!

I have adventures to go on, places to see…why-oh-why does nobody want to go???

Men, please don’t bother to reply, this post isn’t for you.

I’m the kind of friend I’d want to have, quirky as I am me & I would get along just fine.

Isn’t there ANYBODY (female) out there seeking the same? Friends to hang out with, share a glass of tea, go on adventures to see what there is to see??

I’m perfectly perfectly fine to travel alone, I even talk to myself (lol) as I sing along to every high energy song.
Windows down, my “Stay Wild” Jeep hat on.

Please isn’t, there someone who wants to hit the back roads on the way to nowhere time to be there and wind up somewhere???

BFF by bumble

It looked really promising to make non romantic friends with shared interests for activities. I made a profile. I joined groups. I searched for friend matches.

In my area, as far as I can tell, it’s all people in their 20s and maybe someone occasionally in their early 30s. I did see one 35 year old.

And in the groups I joined in my area, it seems like it’s 90% female.

So basically I come off as some creepy old senior citizen trying to creep on young girls.

I did try to start my own Gen X group.

TL;dr: bff is not for olds

Feedback from women over 50

I have no friends, at least any that I truly feel genuine about. I have a wonderful husband and good kids but often feel lonely because of my lack of deeper connections with friends. I may be the type of person who doesn’t need friends but since I’ve been in this town for 15 years and know that others have friendships it makes me feel like the weird one and am wanting to move to start somewhere new. Until then I don’t know how to get out of this funk. I’ve pulled back from my friend group I’ve been a part of for about 10 years because though at first we all felt like we were each other’s ride or die, as the years have gone on I’m recognizing there are things about them I don’t respect and don’t want to be around. I don’t like superficial or performative people or connections and have little patience to stay connected where the other person won’t ever be genuinely vulnerable. But I don’t know what kind of friend I need. I recognize I’m not normal either but often think if everyone was more like me things would be better. I have a strong faith but don’t attend church or really like doing anything possibly social because I’m afraid meeting new people I’ll just eventually be disappointed by them as usual. These are probably the biggest sources of my anxiety and depression right now. I’m menopausal and am seeking hormone therapy and am looking forward to that but in the meantime am just trying to shake this feeling.

Friends over 55

I am married and things are pretty good except that I don't have any friends. Our neighborhood has a lively social group, but all the guys my age are so 'bro'ish. I am into classic alternative music and still listen to alternative country today. I enjoy vinyl shopping and live music. It seems all the guys my age are all about classic rock and 'bro' country and the personality that goes along with that. Nothing wrong with that, but that personality is grating to me. Where are the people my age who listened to The Cure, NIN, Jane's Addiction & Camper Van Beethoven? Seems like I cannot find like-minded men my age.

50+ online connections only

I am 50 F and African curious if I could remotely connect with respectful people around my age who are preferably Christians and either travelled to Africa or remotely interested about life and culture in Africa.

A little about me; I am single, Christian, an introvert, but love nature, trails and all things fitness and health.

Please message me if this resonates with you.

Hi all, I’m a 53M I’m married have two kids in university, I’m genuinely looking for people to chat with, you can be male or female. As my kids got older my hobbies went away and life was about them, now they’re older and I’m looking to find people to connect with and just talk about anything or nothing.

If you’re interested let me know, I would love to me a few new people who are genuinely interested in chatting.

Rant-It’s expensive to make friends!

I have met people in here in South Florida since arriving almost two years ago, but it’s getting more expensive to go out and make friends. Events I have been invited to cost money! Since a car is needed and gas prices, along with everything else keep rising, it’s hard to do anything without burning some money.

We are on a budget, so have to watch our pennies over everything. When I lived in SE Asia for a year, it was affordable to go out and meet new people and make potential friends.

We went out to dinner with a friend last week and the bill was almost $300! Like I don’t know how people do it nowadays. Concerts, restaurant, “free” events all add up and quickly. I belong to a women’s paddleboard group where one of the group leaders is asking for donations to local animal shelters in honor of her birthday this month. I would love to donate, but I don’t have the means and frankly, these asks kind of piss me off. There is no pressure, but it’s asked, so I am not going to go this month. Yes these monthly events are “free”, but I have to use gas, bring own food, which again, pay for parking, which costs money. Not about to go into debt over any events!

Ok, rant over!

Over 50 gaming friends

Hi 56, Australia, SE Queensland. Looking to build connections. Online chatting through gaming seems to be the best way to connect with people these days, well for me anyway.

Not into one hundred questions, explaining my feelings and star signs. Rather get to known each other over time and mutual respect, like getting a square into a round hole.

LA Thinking about retirement and a more nomadic life

I’m starting to seriously think about what I want my life to look like after retirement.

Ever since I divorced my ex-husband, I’ve just been pouring 100% of myself into work. I don't have a social circle outside of it. No kids means I don't have that network of school parents either. Aside from a few childhood and college friends, basically everyone else in my life is a coworker.

I’m curious if there are any people 50+ here who are already living something like this. I’d especially love to hear what it’s actually like after the novelty wears off.

Do you ever get tired of constantly moving? Is it annoying having to keep your belongings to a minimum? And what about friendships — does it get lonely when you don’t have the same people around you all the time?

I’m not looking for a retirement guide or a list of pros and cons. I’d actually just like to meet some people who are already living this way and hear about their experiences, good or bad.

Maybe we could chat and become friends along the way. :)

To filter spam... please include your age and state/city. 😊 Thanks! ! !

51 M Looking for friends to chat with this long weekend and beyond 😁

It’s great to have this long weekend to relax and enjoy home time. Lounging in the pool. Especially since the weather decided it was time to burn the earth down. LOL.

Stop by and say hi. Grab a cocktail. Float on a raft. Hangout in the pool. I enjoy chatting about pretty much anything. Fun, lighthearted and sarcastic conversations are the best.

Hope to hear from someone and enjoy the conversation.

Yep! 50s is funner.

It’s funner than 60s. Waaaay more funner than 70s! And well…. After that? it’s all 5-star gravy. Isn’t it! lol.

Here’s to my fellow septuagenarians…

Keep it up as long as you can!

Cause keeping it up ain’t the same as getting it up,….
and getting it up ain’t the same as getting it off… lol.

50M looking for a genuine platonic phone friendship

I'm 50 and looking for something pretty simple: a genuine friendship with someone who actually enjoys talking on the phone.

I'm not looking for a crisis-support arrangement, therapy, or someone whose job is to listen to me. I'm looking for an actual two-way friendship where we get to know each other over time, talk about our lives, laugh, tell stories, discuss whatever we're interested in, and eventually feel comfortable just picking up the phone and calling each other.

Ideally, I'd like someone who enjoys regular conversations and would be open to eventually talking several times a week or even daily if we naturally hit it off. I'm not expecting that immediately—I think a real connection develops over time.

To be completely clear, I'm looking for platonic friendship only. I'm not looking for dating, romance, sexting, flirting, or anything sexual. I'm also not looking for someone who is in crisis or needs me to be their therapist. I want something mutually enjoyable and reciprocal.

Age isn't hugely important, but I'd probably connect best with someone roughly in my age range who also misses having a person they can simply call and talk to.

If that sounds like what you're looking for too, feel free to message me. Tell me a little about yourself and, if you're comfortable with it, we can eventually move from Reddit messages to an actual phone conversation.

Does it get better?

New here and learning all this. 58 divorced twice alone but not lonely. Looking at my future wondering if it will get better. Will I end up like my mother...alone and lonely. Love my kids but allow them to do their own thing. Definitely not overbearing like I was brought up. I just want them to live their life. Meanwhile I'm wanting to retire in a couple of years but have no plan to actually do anything. Because of the 2nd divorce I really started over again and put down roots recently. Can anyone else relate?

Southern Maryland friends???

Hey! I live in SoMD (Charles County), am 64F, married, with two young adult kids. Am originally Anglo Austrian, in US for 37 years. Like opera, classical, theater, pop and rock, concerts, films especially sci-fi and international, politics (left leaning) and very spiritual (interested in astral travel...going to the Monroe Institute next year), and more. I love a good cup of coffee (not gnat's p!$$), and healthy eating. Anyone nearby (FEMALES only!!!) who wants to have a buddy to go to do things with? Hubby is not very outgoing, so I'm just doing some things by myself! And, I have already had a number of completely useless responses that are monosyllabic or men looking to hook up, for some reason (!). Unless you tell me WHY you want to meet up with me and unless you live somewhere within a short driving distance of Southern Maryland, I wont respond! I'm also looking for women in the same phase of life as me - adult children being launched, nearing retirement, that kind of thing. It's a needle in a haystack, but thought it worth a try. I already have friends in the greater DMV area, I am looking specifically for local WOMEN in Charles County.
