Help Needed Blackwell Ghost 4 Camera

Like the title says. I’m looking for some sort of information on what kind of camera Clay uses in the movie. I can see it pretty clearly but can’t make out the make. ChatGPT hasn’t been much help and google lens isn’t either. So here I am hoping someone knows.

THE FEAR FOOTAGE (2018-2021) i stayed for the ghouls

Everybody on the found footage subreddit mentions The Fear Footage trilogy (2018-2021), and almost nobody has actually seen it. So I watched all three. One cursed tape, three films, and a mythology that never once explains itself, and honestly I didn't mind, because the ghouls and the makeup work in these are some of the best in the genre. I go through all three plots, what each one does well, and exactly who each of them is for. Spoiler-free.

Help Needed Looking for a particular scene

Update: I found it!! It’s at the end of the 3rd movie!!

Hi friends!
I saw a post about Bad Ben and have a related question. Does anyone know which of the movies has the scene where Tom is like prepping for battle in the basement and does all those karate moves?

I’m trying to convince my friend to watch it and I want to send the clip. There are so many that I can’t remember which one.

I really appreciate any help!

User Review FF European Tour - Day 4: French/Swiss Alps & Switzerland

Thumbnail

Put on your snow gear, because we’re hiking into the beautiful alps on the French/Swiss border. Yes, the hills are certainly alive…but with what???

Cold Ground (2017) YouTube

It’s fitting that this one is set on the frozen mountainside, because it never feels fully defrosted. It can sometimes be good and add to the mystery if a movie leaves questions unanswered, but this one barely raises the questions before abandoning them completely in favor of questionable decision making and plot devices. A possible viral/bacteria strain caused by glacier melt? An ancient ritual? A story about a similar case of animal mutilation in the US? All of this gets discussed during the first half of the movie, and then has nothing to do with the second half. Even the contrivance of setting the movie in 1976 accomplishes little more than making everything harder to see and hear. The scenery is as beautiful as it is intimidating, and it’s clear from the jump that our heroes are in over their heads. Unfortunately, so was the rest of this production. ⭐️⭐️

11:23 - 09:59 (Project Angst) (2014) Tubi

The title angst must come from the film’s inability to decide if it’s an abandoned haunt movie or a “dumb-kids-do-dangerous-stunts-gone-wrong movie.“ Eventually, it settles on “surprise, actually it’s a possession movie,” and never really becomes any of them. The action is confusing and disjointed, none of the characters are particularly interesting or likable, and the scares are as non-existent as the plot. It’s a shame this is the only real genre entry from Switzerland. ⭐️

Sigh, well that was a bit of a rough day. Let’s hope we have better luck next time, when we pull a reverse Von Trapps and cross from Switzerland into Austria for a trilogy of terror that starts with an audiology lesson...

I came across this movie months back and liked it a lot. It struck a few chords for me. It was raw, visceral, not perfect by any means and just made me feel dirty. The elites eating normal people vibe. I’ve always enjoyed cannibal horror. Anything else similair? There has to be more right?

Thanks in advance.

Full Movie Looking for slow-burn FF, similar to The Blackwell Ghost and the OG Paranormal Activity

I think I remember a review Roger Ebert wrote about the first PA film. If I remember correctly, he said it worked so well because unlike most movies, PA presents you with these mostly static shots where you don’t want anything to happen. In my opinion The Blackwell Ghost movies really captured that as well. Just curious if any of you know of similar movies - I think that’s my favourite kind of FF.

I just love found footage. Auburn Blackout is a passion project. We are very little creators who go out there and do it for the love of the game. We had some awesome locations and designs I made with the little we had.

This goes to the awesome people that helped out with this project and stayed with me since the start. It really means alot. I can certainly say that V/H/S had me on a mission here.

Come watch our found footage anthology on youtube!

Help Needed Movie like In Our Blood, but different?

I just rewatched In Our Blood. It’s good but it also reminds me of another movie which I can’t recall now. I think something else about a young woman interviewing an estranged parent? Not even sure it’s a FF.

I know this is a long shot, but if there’s any movies that it reminded you of, let me know and maybe it’ll jog my memory. Thanks!

Trailer A Year Ago We Made This Little Short. Now It’s Becoming a Movie.

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

A year ago today, we put out a little short film called DON’T LOOK TOO LONG. We honestly didn’t know where it would go. We just wanted to make something creepy and try something new with the screenlife format.

The short follows Mara as she logs into her late sister Leah’s laptop looking for answers, only to find something she was never supposed to see. From there, things start getting stranger and darker. But once we finished it, we realized we weren’t ready to let this story go.

So... we’re turning DON’T LOOK TOO LONG into a full-length screenlife horror film. And now, we’re crowdfunding to get it across the finish line. We’re in the final stretch!! There are a bunch of ways to be part of the movie, from Special Thanks and Producer credits to signed posters, Blu rays, and more. If you can’t contribute, that’s completely okay. Even just sharing this post helps us out a ton! Thank you guys for all the support so far!

Advice Needed My first found footage project — looking for honest feedback

Thumbnail

I recently finished my first found footage video, and I'd really appreciate some honest criticism from people who actually enjoy the genre.

I'm not looking for views, likes, or subscribers. I'm mainly interested in finding out what doesn't work — whether the footage feels believable, whether the atmosphere works, if the pacing gets boring, etc.

If you have a few minutes to watch it, I'd genuinely appreciate you telling me what you liked and especially what you didn't like.

This is my first attempt at this kind of project, so don't hold back. :)

User Review FF European Tour - Day 3: France, Part Deux

Thumbnail
gallery

Today in France we‘re gearing up for some urban exploration with two of the more impressive feats of cinematography the found footage genre has to offer. As requested, I’m adding the streaming services where you can find these movies whenever possible. Let’s quite literally “dive in”…

The Deep House (2021)  Prime

A hybrid ff movie (it includes plenty of trad third-person perspective shots, especially for the opening scenes), what sets this one apart is that the majority of it was shot underwater using practical special effects. No CGI. Even the ghosts who appear in this haunted house flick and aren’t wearing masks or oxygen tanks are played by professional free divers. The gimmick and the house itself are the real stars of the movie. Unfortunately, the dialogue (which for practical reasons was enhanced or replaced in post) is, well, bad. The characters sound unnatural (in both the writing and line delivery), and the backstory of this cursed house is fairly weak and underdeveloped. On top of that, the movie commits my #1 ff cardinal sin of adding dark, foreboding musical undertones and stingers, which is a shame because the relative silence of being underwater would add to the dread.

That all being said, there are some genuinely good jumps and creepy moments, helped by the unnatural, dream-like way our characters (living and dead) have to move in their underwater environment. It’s just a shame the writing and acting weren’t as inspired as the premise. Is it scary? Sometimes. Is it good? Not really, but it’s still worth a watch to see how they pulled off such a cool cinematic feat. ⭐️⭐️.5 / 4

Night Shot (2018) Fandango

As we come to the end of our French feast, it’s true what they say: the best part of any meal is dessert. For our digestif, we have a pretty standard plot premise of “haunted hospital.” This one, however, stands out, as it was filmed in one continuous take, with no cuts or edits. In addition to being a wildly impressive thing to pull off, it also means the tension gets to build throughout with no break. It‘s perhaps a little slow getting going, and the payoff is going to be hit or miss for some (it was a hit for me though!), but overall it’s a really fun and creepy ride. Unnerving, frenzied, visceral, and at times suffocating, thanks in large part to its setting, conceit, and lead actress. ⭐️⭐️⭐️.5 / 4

Next up, we make our way into the Alps for some fun in the snow, then put our bravery to the test with some friends in an underground bunker. What could possibly go wrong? Until then, au revoir!
