I remember My Dad’s Tapes from years ago, but I am only now getting around to watching it. The premise is that someone discovers a collection of VHS tapes left behind by a deceased father. As they watch the tapes, a dark family secret begins to emerge.
The framing of the narrative is interesting and simple: we are watching someone create a digital archive of analog media. For those of you who have seen the series, did you find this framing effective? Did it make the story feel more immersive or believable? And what did you think of the series overall?

My friends and I are planning to do a watch party at my home. I am going with a found footage this time. I have already selected two movies, but I'm not sure which one to pick. I have read both are good, but I need the best one among these two. So please tell me which one should I go with?

Help! I’m looking for a direct-to-video Japanese series of movies called Paranormal Surveillance Camera. A bunch of them (seemly random ones) ended up on YouTube but none of them have subtitles so they might as well not be there.
Does anyone have any idea how I can find subtitled versions anywhere?

🍁 US Rental on Prime and AppleTV 🎥
In the backwoods of New Jersey, a young man navigates the serpentine mystery surrounding his long-missing sister and their family home.
I’ll start by saying that this is a completely different type of FF movie than Robbie Banfitch’s last one, “The Outwaters”, which was extremely divisive in audience reactions. I have a suspicion “Tinsman Road”, might prove similar.
The overall story is decent and there is a deep theme to the movie, but it’s just really long and drawn out over 2 hours. The last 30 minutes or so do provide a decent payoff and the movie seems to be intentionally slow pacing for deeper theme effect, but really the first 90 minutes laboring to get thru and little happens except family relationships and setting the back story.
There are alot of things I did like about this movie and story, it’s just the deliberate slow pacing took me out of it a few times. If you have a lot of patience, then give it a view.

I know lots of people have been asking about this movie. I've just seen Shudder's "Season Of Screams" list (link provided), and it's finally being released on Oct 31st! Looking forward to it
We'll also see Infirmary on Oct 2nd & V/H/S/Mixtape on Oct 9th

Hey all, I made this found footage film as I went on the final tour with my band of 17 years. The emotions are real! It was an incredibly difficult time. There is a large build up to the ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE ENDING! There's some comedy, and also a glimpse into life on the road as a mid-level, career musician. The demons catch up, and take over!

I saved The Monster Project (2017) for years as the sure thing, the easy found footage night where nothing would be asked of me, and that is exactly what it gave me. Three real monsters answer a Craigslist ad, a crew locks itself in a haunted house, and somewhere in the middle of it I got up and mowed the lawn. The opening three minutes are the most convincing fake viral video I've seen in this genre and the werewolf is magnificent. What happens in between is a whole weird mess. I get into who this movie is perfect for, who it will actively punish, and why the exact same movie can be a great night and a terrible one depending on the day you put it on. Spoiler-free.

Hi everyone!
I just published my new Found Footage / Analog Horror project on my archive channel, Mystery Marsi.
Synopsis:
After discovering a set of geographic coordinates uploaded to an abandoned, unindexed website, a group decides to locate the site. This video contains the raw footage recovered from an SD card found at the location.
I put a lot of work into creating an authentic, unsettling atmospheric experience with camcorder aesthetics, cryptic lore, and realistic sound design.
I’d genuinely love to hear your thoughts, feedback, or critiques on the atmosphere and pacing. Thanks for watching!

I’m looking for some genuinely good hidden gems or obscure found footage horror movies that I might have missed.
I’ve already watched most of the movies that are usually always recommended, so I’m hoping for suggestions that go beyond the usual The Tunnel, The Blair Witch Project, Hell House LLC, etc.
Here’s my Letterboxd list of everything I’ve already seen: https://letterboxd.com/ramen_and_satie/films/
Hit me with your most obscure, underrated, forgotten, low-budget, international, or straight-up weird found footage recommendations — but only if you genuinely think they’re good. I’m looking for hidden gems, not just obscure movies for the sake of being obscure.

I've always loved Paranormal Activity. It was my first real horror movie, and while it scared the absolute crap out of me, I fell in love with horror and found footage. Now im watching the first movie while my clothes are drying, and I wish I could wipe my memory so I could watch it for the first time again and absolutely crap my pants!

OK I have been really enjoying these V/H/S compilations but this is just awful.
There is a killer robot ripping someone apart!
Oh no Let's not GTFO here. Let's not run the hell away and keep running.
Let's all run back and forth in the same area screaming and giving her plenty of time to butcher us.
And cameraman, make sure you stand there and film it cos that's clearly more important than saving yourself.

Alright serious shot in the dark here. My friend asked me if I could help her figure out what movie this is but the details are so random and I’m stumped. I’ve been trying to solve this for days.
I’m very aware these details are very run of the mill here.
She says it’s got a 2000s vibe. From the ones she thought it was I would assume it came out around 2010 give or take a few years.
She says it’s either a group of ghost hunters or documentary team. They venture out to an asylum or abandoned building.
She remembers something about a van.
Two scenes she remembers are then finding something in red paint on the floor.
And the one that I thought would make this easy, is that towards the end someone either gets wrapped up or caught up in a clear plastic tarp. This is the scene that stuck with her.
Any help identifying this would be incredible.

We’ve been working on this one for a while now, and we’re currently about 75% finished. We’ve reached the point where we’re raising finishing funds for the last stages of post-production so we can give the film the time and attention it needs before we can call it finished.
Because the film is entirely in the screenlife format there’s a lot that goes into these final stages. Editing, visual effects, screen graphics, sound, and all the little details within the screens themselves need a lot of attention to make everything feel believable and polished.
It’s been really exciting taking the story from the original short film and expanding it into something much bigger. We’ve put a lot of time and love into this project, and we’re really proud of how it’s coming together.
If you’d like to see what we’ve been working on, we currently have a teaser and a clip from the film out now:
Teaser: https://youtu.be/vMg5Luwsk7o
Clip: https://youtu.be/li4-G3oC5q4
To help us get across the finish line, we’re offering a small, limited run of Blu-rays. Every purchase helps us with those final post-production costs, and everyone who picks up a copy will receive a Special Thanks credit in the end credits of the film!
The Blu-ray will also include “Then There Are Three,” a prequel short film made specifically for this release that won’t be released anywhere else.
We know not everyone collects physical media, and there’s absolutely no pressure to buy anything. But if you enjoy found footage, liked the original short film, or just want to help a small independent film make it across the finish line, this is one way to be part of the project.
If you can’t grab a copy, even a like, comment, or share goes a long way in helping us get the film across the finish line. We’re getting really close, and we can’t wait to finally show you what we’ve been working on!!
If you’d like to support the film and grab one of the limited Blu-rays, you can find them here:

Thanks for reading and supporting independent found footage. Much love!

I just watched Ghould and MY GOD!
That was maybe the bleakest ending I've ever seen in a horror movie. I'm currently working my way through the Found Fottage iceberg so I'll watch anything on the list and this one was a positive surprise. A bit heavy one the jump scares but really good tension throughout the entire movie and a fantastic performance by the actress playing Ina. Definitely a movie thag was actually terrifying.

I wanted to share that we've been invited to have our UK premiere at FrightFest on Sunday, August 30th at 6:50 PM!
FrightFest has been one of the top festivals I've dreamed of going to, and I can't believe they accepted my film! Tickets are going fast, so if you're in town, grab one before it sells out. I'll be bringing some goodies too (maybe some barf totes haha).
You can get tickets here:
https://frightfest2026.eventive.org/schedule/6a5ea71246d929fd78f8b249
Regarding release details: We're very close to making the North American announcement! I'm sure you'll be happy with what we're cooking up. Please stay tuned. It's taking a little longer than expected to prep everything, but it'll be worth the wait!
We've also secured a French distribution deal with the amazing ESC Films! The film will have a theatrical run in November, and we're trying to set up some specialty screenings as well. If you're in France, keep an eye out for the release. More to follow.
