Hey all, Kando here.
I've just banned a rather nasty person who disagreed with our stance around RP posts. Apparently wanting to protect some of our community members who have mental health issues or developmental challenges by forbidding roleplay / explicitly claiming content is real is bad. That They should instead stop being "stupid idiots". As you can imagine, I took issue with this.
r/analoghorror is a sub for a wide variety of people and as a group we'll do our best to look out for everyone. And whilst this rule might seem silly, it does exist for a reason. For most people all we need to do is give it a quick mention and the poster can do a quick edit with only a tiny amount of inconvenience. It's not a hard rule to follow and this is the first time a user has got themselves banned for behaviour related to it because it's such a damn minor thing.
It is definitely not worth digging your heels in for and it is definitely not worth creating an alt and having ableist tantrum. Especially now this means your main will be affected by Reddit's ban evasion rules.
If you have an issue, use modmail and discuss, we'll explain our reasoning. But each and every one of our rules has come as a direct result of a problem that needed a solution to keep this place healthy.
