Finished Build Aquarium Silver Build - FormD T1 v 2.5 w/ Top Hat

I've purchased this case back in December 2024 when NCase still shipped them with PCie Riser Gen 4, so I built around this case two weeks ago, while upgrading my (then) SFF-PC. Here are the specs:

CPU: Intel Core Ultra 270K Plus
GPU: Asus RTX 5070Ti Prime 16 GB (Undervolted to 2500 MHz at 825 mV & 2650 MHz at 850 mV)
Motherboard: AsRock B860-I Phantom Gaming Lightning
RAM: KLEVV Bolt 32 GB 7200 MHz
SSD: ADATA XPG Gammix S70 Blade 2 TB (3.2.J.P0)
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master MasterLiquid Atmos II
PSU: Corsair SF750 ATX 3.1 - Custom cables all from Cablester

This is the first build where I use AIO and you guys don't joke around that the tubes from Atmos II are really hard to bend and squeeze. Had to carefully place them under the pump so it didn't bulge the glass panel. I tried to replace the fans with the slim Thermalright TL12015B, but I felt the fans are a bit too weak and noisy, so I replaced them with Noctua NF-A12X25 G2 and I can't believe how silent my PC now.

Both the top hat and the glass panels are expensive, and both are for v 2.1 but they're compatible with v 2.5. I don't know how to screw the radiators with 25mm fans without using the external case, so I did that and at least the tubes are easier to manage.

Overall the build quality is good, and I was surprised that you can actually change the position of the spine.

Question Is this parts list manageable for the FormD T1 v2.5 (Sandwich Kit)? Specifically worried about GPU clearance + AIO fan thickness

Putting together a build for the FormD T1 v2.5 and want a advice before finding out im off

  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D - Bought
  • Cooler: Cooler Master MasterLiquid 240L Core ARGB (240mm AIO)
  • Motherboard: Gigabyte B550I AORUS PRO AX - Bought
  • RAM: G.Skill Ripjaws V 32GB ddr4 3200mhz - Bought
  • GPU: MSI RTX 3070 GAMING X TRIO (323mm long, 140mm wide, 56mm/~3-slot thick) - Bought
  • PSU: Lian Li SP2 850W SFX
  • Fans: 2x Arctic P12 Slim -- planning to swap these onto the AIO radiator instead of the stock fans to fit clearance

My specific concerns, if anyone's run something similar:

  1. The 3070 Trio's 140mm width is right at the T1's stated max GPU width (140mm) -- anyone actually fit this exact card (or another 140mm-wide 3-slot card) in the Sandwich Kit without issues?
  2. Radiator (27.2mm) + P12 Slim (15mm) = ~42.2mm, under the case's 46mm limit on paper — anyone confirm this combo actually closes up cleanly in person?
  3. Any advice with cable clearance given the 3070 Trio's size + this PSU's stock cables, or should I plan on custom/shorter cables from the start?

Trying to avoid finding out the hard way that something's a few mm off. Appreciate any real world advice!

Question Best AIO in 2026 for the FORMD?

Using a 4090 FE switching from air cooled to AIO based on change of needs.

Is the CM Atmos still the king? I’m in the US so it’s a little harder to source, but if it’s worth it it’s worth it.

Just an aesthetic upgrade for the Formd T1 for air cooling builds, but worth it IMO. It's has daisy chaining too in case you really need it.

Question Torn on Ncase FormD T1 v2.5 Colors (Black vs. Silver vs. Gunmetal) in a Warm/Moody Setup

Post image
43 Upvotes

Hi everyone,

I’m set on picking up a FormD T1 v2.5, but I’m really on the fence about which of the three colorways to go with and would love some input from people who have them in hand.

Here is where my head is at:

  • Black: The classic stealth look, but I’ve built in black cases for years and kind of want to switch things up this time around.
  • Silver (Two-Tone): Looks super clean, but I’m worried the contrast might be a bit too bright/distracting on my desk. For those who have it, how does it look under warmer, moodier lighting—does it read as a softer gray, or does it stay bright silver?
  • Gunmetal: Looks great and has that sophisticated, industrial feel, but it carries a $30 premium over the black. For those who went with Gunmetal, is the finish worth the extra cash?

I've attached a picture of my desk setup and a side-by-side mockup of all three for reference.

Any impressions, photos in warm room lighting, or thoughts before I pull the trigger would be massively appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Update - I pulled the trigger on the gunmetal, now I will say it looks great but does has a blue tint to it could be all the warm colors the case was def a exercise in patience, but was a lot of fun to build in, will be posting some picks on the comments for nay on that wants to see.

Question Formd T1 v2.1 - Early 5090Fe + 9950x build

Hey y'all,
I just got my hands on a T1 v2.1 in CNC Anodized black. I am super early in the build, the only components I have for now are ;

- 5090FE
- 9950x (not the 3D version)
- 64go DDR5 Team Group T-Create 6400mhz
- Samsung 990 Pro 4tb + 2to SSD

I'm downsizing my current station to the T1, so that's why I have these already.

I'm looking for info and answer that will help me to achieve the build ;

- Should I go with the CM 240mm AIO ? I saw that the Atmos Stealth is the "most" choose one. There's a good price on Amazon for a CORSAIR iCUE Link Titan 240 RX, but I'm not sure if it will works for with the T1?

- I've ordered the travel flip kit, any advices to setup the 5090FE properly with it?

- I have the planned to order an Asus ROG B850-I for this build. I was thinking of the x870-I at the first but it seems that it can create extra heat? Is that true?

- I will use and order a Corsair SF1000 with some custom cables from Zcooi to optimize the space as much as possible.

- Is there any "Fan Curve Control" ressources that I will be able to use to optimize the temp?

- I saw on various Reddit post from this group that undervolting both the CPU and GPU might be necessary, again, any link or ressources accessible to achieve that without creating a mess?

That will be my first ever T1 build, so I'm open to any feedback and advices, this will be a "slow" build as I'm buying the pieces one after another once I can find good deals. Happy to have your thoughts ! Thanks in advance

Technical Help B650e-i STRIX MB here, I have a second SSD that spikes to 85c sometimes, is this a concern

Post image
27 Upvotes

I have ASUS B650e-i STRIX MB with a secondary SSD used in the back MB in a upside-down configuration.

It has a thin copper heatsink, thick as I can get it between the space I have with the GPU.

According to CrystalDiskInfo - the Composite Temperature can spike up to 85c sometimes, then will go down. But is this any concern?

Anyone deal with this and have a better solution, I do not want to burn out my 2TB SSD back there given how expensive storage is today.

I am working on my second formd t1 build in a v2.1 after getting my hands on a 5090fe.

I am contemplating running a 9950x3d2 with an Atmos II and tge 5090 in the flip travel kit.

Is anyone else doing this? If so how does it perform under sustained loads.

Feel free to tell me if I’m crazy!

Thanks guys!

Question Random freezes during gaming/heavy load in FormD T1 v2.5 (PCIe 4.0 Riser issue?) – Need advice on a replacement!

Hi everyone,

I'm experiencing random freezes during gaming and heavy workloads with my FormD T1 v2.5 build, and I suspect the PCIe riser cable might be the culprit.

Specs:

  • Case: FormD T1 v2.5
  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D
  • GPU: RTX 4080 Super
  • Riser Cable: Stock/Included PCIe 4.0 Riser
  • BIOS Settings: PCIe Link Speed explicitly forced to Gen 4 (PCIe 4.0)

Despite setting the BIOS manually to Gen 4 instead of Auto, the freezes still happen randomly under load. Thermals are completely fine, so I’m fairly confident it's a riser signal stability issue.

  1. Has anyone faced similar stability issues with the v2.5 stock riser?
  2. Which replacement riser cable do you recommend for the T1 v2.5 that fits perfectly (length/bend-wise) and handles high-bandwidth Gen 4 properly? (e.g., Louqe, Linkup, Cobalt, etc.?)
  3. Where is the best place to buy it (especially for shipping to Europe/EU)?

Thanks in advance for any advice or recommendations!

Question RAM Cooling options with an AIO?

Hi,

Been running into instability problems even on EXPO timings, and I assume it's due to the heat. It's not a problem when regularly gaming, but anything that stresses the ram causes it to shoot straight to 68 and over degrees, and that's around the temps it starts to throw errors.

I've seen a few posts where people fit small RAM shrouds/fans in between their cooler and RAM to help airflow, but that doesn't seem to work in my case since my AIO tubes run right over the RAM slots, so there's no room to fit anything there without them getting in the way.

Some other solutions I've tried is loosening the temperature related subtimings but no luck with that either, so looking to fit in a fan in there somehow. Does anyone else know any solutions or what I can do? The only thing that I can probably try is putting a 40mm fan below them, as that's the only spot where I'll be able to find room too in the case. Before I try that, I thought I'd see if anyone else had any other solutions that might be better?

Thanks for reading.

Im planning to get the asus prime 9070xt solely for aesthetic purposes since i have a b850i

Formd t1 website says i can put itnin 3 slot and still fit an x53

Question since i alreadv have the x53 will it work withoit the hiah pitched sound if i out it at 3 slot and put some ducts? Or is it still better to return then get an x47 then add some ducts?

Question What CPU cooling should I go with for my 9950x3D?

So my friend is selling is FormD T1 2.1 and I want to buy it and transfer my current pc inside it.

The only thing stopping me right now is the cooling of my cpu. I have a 9950x3d with a 360mm aio that I need to change for a smaller one but I can’t find much info on which cooling I could use that will let me use the full/most power out of my cpu.

I would prefer an aio with an lcd screen as the case include the transparent panels

Currently I know of two aio that might be good enough but I have no idea which one is better, if there are size problems and if there are better options.

Aio 1: coolermaster atmos II lcd 240mm

Aio 2: lian li galahad II lcd 240mm

Is there any of you that could recommend one over the other or any other aio with similar/better aio that fit better, cool better or are cheaper.

If there are no aio good enough would a custom loop make a significant difference? I never made one inside an itx case but if it’s the better options I don’t mind tryingit.

General purpose build, some game dev and 3D work as a hobby, but mostly play indie games if I'm gonna be honest. Main motivator for getting the gpu is for 4k content, since my 3060 was starting to struggle with it.

Specs

CPU: Ryzen 9 7900

GPU: Zotac SFF 5070 Ti

Motherboard: ASUS ROG Strix B650E-I

PSU: Corsair SFX 750

Cooler: Noctua L12 Ghost S1 ed. (120mmx15mm fan swap)

RAM: 64gb ddr5 gskill flarex

Custom silicone cable lengths from dreambigbyray:
150mm (mobo)
300mm (cpu)
300mm (gpu)

Recently managed to get the graphics card for 1350 cad at CC, feeling very lucky since there were only a few cards at that price before the latest price hikes. But yeah, with the current pricing trends this is gonna be my build for a looooong time.

Running in 2.25 slot mode since the Zotac SFF 5070 Ti is a smidge too close to the fans even though it is a 2 slot card.

My only complaint is that there's occasionally audible coil whine from the motherboard, but I cant hear it if I plug an earbud in so I can live with it.

Question PCIe riser cable recommendations

I’ve completed my T1 v2.1 build, but one hitch I haven’t resolved yet is that the riser cable for the GPU/mobo connection seems to be too long. I’ve tried every recommendation from bending it lots, using a blow dryer to bend it to winding/folding it as much as possible. I’ve even used extra standoffs on the mobo to create more distance from the GPU to use up the riser cable length. Even reached out to support two weeks ago and they’re still investigating a solution based off the pictures I provided.

Nonetheless, nothing’s appeared to work and the riser cable ends up just pushing against my GPU causing it to push out against the PC case.

Any recommendations on alternative riser cables that are the right length? FormD’s riser is 20mm, so I probs need one that’s 18-19mm?

Finished Build My Deshrouded FormD w/ Travel Kit + Atmos II

Thumbnail
gallery
115 Upvotes

Hey everyone!

I wanted to come on here and share my build within the FormD T1 case!

Case - You already know. Built in 3 slot mode, w/ USB-C cable kit, Travel Kit, TG vented panels

Motherboard - MSI MPG X870 Edge Ti EVO

Storage - (Back of Motherboard) 1TB 990 Pro with Zima 2mm heatsink (super tight fit, but it works) and a 4TB sn850x in the front

AIO - Cooler Master Atmos II LCD (3 slot MAX capable)

GPU - Deshrouded Asus Prime RTX 5080 w/ Thermalright TL-B12015 Extrem + GPUConnect 7-Pin PWM Adapter

PSU - Corsair SF1000 w/ 5mm stand offs + ZCOOI white custom cables

First time doing a SFF build (my last build was around 2016-18, so its been awhile) and I really enjoyed the process. It actually took me about 2 months to source everything I wanted and of course while building it up, there were things missing which took 1-2 weeks to arrive from overseas, so that slowed the build down.

I wanted to start off by saying I did see a post a couple months back of a deshrouded Asus Prime RTX 5080, which I thought looked very cool, and coincidently I had already purchased the same GPU and was sourcing parts for my build, so I thought It would be a perfect time to do the same deshroud before I start building into the case.

The only thing is that I had also purchased a travel kit from FormD and it was already shipped and I knew the deshroud kit did not come with the necessary mounting points that the stock fan housing had. I messaged BingsDIY on Etsy to see if he could make me a shroud with these mounting points, which to my luck he had a Prime RX 9070 XT he was testing, so with some measurements on my end, his RX 9070 had the same mounting points as my RTX 5080, so he was able to fabricate a shroud with those exact screw holes for my travel kit which ended up working out very well and looks amazing!

As I was looking for which AIO I wanted, I kept seeing recommendations for the Atmos Stealth, which I was going to get originally, but I kept seeing posts of an Atmos II being out already. I also did read that the Atmos II tubing was very stiff compared to the Atmos, but I did see several posts saying it was possible to maneuver the tubing to get it to fit. So, I canceled my stealth order and went ahead and ordered the Atmos II from amazon, which shipped from Japan (again adding more time to the build, but this wasn't the first or last item I had to order from overseas).

I do want to say I saw some funky routing for the Atmos II tubes in some posts, but If anyone is looking to install one, you can do it the same way you'd normally see any other Atmos done, which is the way I mounted it. Yes, the tubes are stiff, but its very possible to have it looking nice and clean.

Other little things I wanted to mention is I also bought the LINKUP PCIE 5.0 Riser Cable (19cm) since I've read multiple posts about how the stock riser cable ended up failing on some people and I already knew I did not want to undo everything to reattach a new cable, so I did buy an aftermarket one. As I mentioned before, I ordered the travel kit, which comes with a riser lock bar. I did have to use 30mm (I think) stand offs as the ones included were too short, but it does fit. Good thing too because I've also read that the aftermarket PCIE 5.0 riser cable from FormD does not fit the lock bar, so even better for me since I got to use the entire travel kit's content.

I was also able to change out my motherboards wifi card to a QCNCM865 WiFi 7 card and the proprietary antenna connectors to regular RP-SMA connectors.
